I have Heard that Elantra doesnt have A/c and power windows in the Standard trim and also the Automatic version. These Options are only available in High trim version "Elantra LIMITED" . Hyundai Must be Joking If they Dont Include A/c in their Standard version. That must be a Shame after including so many other features taking out A/c

@supercooled there will be a 3 door hatch currently called the Veloster, that name might change at launch. you can find videos of the veloster testing in germany. hyundai said the veloster will be aimed at the young crowd and will be loaded with every gadget you can think of but the car will sell on just its looks alone.

It looks even more brilliant than the i45/Sonata. Wow. They are competing with themselves! If I had the money and I dont need such a big car, although I could afford it, I'll still go for the Avante. It's really well-designed, this.

I personally find it to be overstyled. WIth hyundai making the starbucks equivalent size difference with their cars (tall, grande, venti) they are just taking the same look from the sonata and shrinking it and calling it an Elantra/Accent. Hyundai/Kia may have better looking cars, but they still have a decade before their long-term reliability can be proven (if at all). It looks like they just take style cues from others and make it look better and pass it off as their own.

@Windgrace Have you ever owned a Hyundai? I wouldn't be so fast to put down Hyundai/Kia on long term reliability. I have owned my 2002 Hyundai Sonata since 2005 and is has been amazing ever since. I got it with 90,000 and since then have put on 65,000 to total 155,000. Nothing is wrong with the car. It is solid as the first I got it! The interior still looks the same the day I got it. I would say my car has done A LOT better than most!

As styling goes, this car is beautiful!

I was saving to buy me a new civic SI but after seeing this new elantra my jaw dropped and all I could say was "WOW, WOW, WOW, fuck the honda!, i rather get the new 2011 elantra", i read that the elantra will have a fuel efficient 200hp 1.6L GDI Turbo motor on the top of the line model in the U.S.

The Sedan version has a lot of things different from the Hatchback version. And BTW, American people is discovering the European Ford Focus now...when it has been in the market for years. The Focus just did an evolution, but it still keep the same design, still it is a good car. But Elantra did a total revolution to come with a totally new car. Thats why it is more impressive.

@wtrdogg20 first, I dont understand what you are refering to when you talk about hatchback and sedan respectively. who is what ? focus is hatch but has a sedan and wagon version too. This apply equally to Mk1, Mk2 and Mk3. Elantra above is clearly a sedan. so we compare apples with apples. focus sedan to elantra sedan. Secondly, focus does not exactly keep the same design. But I agree the Elantra and Hyundai/Kia generally speaking, is more of a revolution.
