i dont know what all the fuss is about! this was pretty decent! i mean,not even close to as good as dawn or day or land or night,or whatever,but much much better than diary,that was a crap film! this movie was good,the CGI was pretty bad,but i liked the plot and the story and the gore. i think romero could make this btter,but overall,i found it pretty enjoyable,and i would recomend it to all romero fans.

A zombie riding a horse could actually be entertaining if done right. I remember from ROTLD 2 the zombies in the military jeep chasing the kid around like they were drunk. lol

@stiv70 no sir, it's not. They're repeating the actions of their lives. It's set up in Dawn the same way. We see it again in Land and here in Survival. Believing one is no more of a stretch than the other.

Day of the dead is his best film in the zombie saga but I loved this film while its no classic it was fun plain and simple and if you watch the Day it set up Land of the dead with the zombies and guns also Survival with the big twist.

I'm a huge Romero fan. I've even defended Bruiser & Land of the Dead when people bashed them. 'Survival of the Dead' however is a total piece of shit. I really think at this point Romero is only making these films because he knows he can make money off them. His heart certainly isn't in it...in fact I really don't think the guy cares at all about horror films anymore or especially zombie films. He was typecast from day one and it's the only type of film he can get financing for so he does them.

I've had to accept it when Romero makes his zombies learn how to fire guns or swim. None of this shit makes a lick of sense according to Thano-Chemistry or Microbiology . On the other hand, neither does dead people getting up and walking. So there is the rub. If you accept zombies at all, nothing is out of bounds really.

I reluctantly agree that Romero's zombie movies are trending downhill, but as long as he keeps making them, I'll keep watching them.

It saddens me to hear all this, but I'm still going to see it because I haven't disliked anything of his so far. And if he really did do this just to make some money I hope that the money would go towards a another project that's something very different for him. Probably just wishful thinking though.

Maybe I'm to easy. I might be related to Last Chance Lance. In these days of remakes. George is such a Icon that's not getting any younger. I was entertained by Survival of the Dead. That's all I asked for. Not a great movie but watchable. A great cameo is in the film as well.

You don't hire effects designer ever to write a scifi horror movie especially when the preuqel got shit on sligtly less then the sequel to it did. This movie stinks. Yeah it's sad that George was once the king of horror and still is with his older films but not with Diary and Survival. I haven't seen Survival yet but from your guys review and other reviews it sounds like a pile of shit lol. even though I'll end of buying it cause I'm a die hard Romero fan but great review and that's awesome that you recorded it.
