@Godsofhalo1 no, Portal and Half-Life are in similar universes, the reason being that the orignal portal project didnt have enough budget to make their own orinal content, so they borrowed the art style from Half Life and came came up with a reason why portal looked similar to half life...and decided to put it in the Half life universe...they dont share the same plot though, its like half life and portal are on different sides of the world...so LMFAOOOOO...<<<lol

@Landofjello Dude you're making it seem like an entirely different company made Portal. Valve is the creators of both Portal and Half Life! They made both games with the set goal that they both take place in the same canon. Notice how in Portal there is a slideshow in one of the meeting rooms that mentions Black Mesa, the company in Half Life. Also, Black Mesa is mentioned at the end credits. They didn't just make it and then decided to merge the stories. That was the plan from the beginning.

@XboxAnnihilator Valve rather employed the developers based on their previous game(Narbacular Drop). The ten people who worked on it, including Marc Laidlaw, tied in to the half life lore for the simple reasons that with it they could use the assets. Which really is the reason they were able to produce it as fast as they did. Portal in essence is really made by students at DigiPen which now is part of Valve.

Portal 2 takes place in the *distant* future, although it's never confirmed exactly when, and as Half Life: Episode 3 has yet to come out, we still don't know if there are any other lasting connections... In Portal 2 GLaDOS' says she saw some humans, but seeing as nothing GLaDOS says can be trusted... it's all speculation...
