And sadly some bad spots. Dream moth is one of the bad spots. The Sweat pants costumes is another. But the high spots are people having fun. People going outside to have fun. Not a bunch of people sitting in front of their PC's in a silly world aka WoW.
@DoTheNecronomicon Most of the LRP/Larp groups I knew and still know in the UK and europe as far as costumes weapons etc. Are bit more upper tier. And most of the people go for high end quality and have the money to drop for it. Unfortunately not all americans have the money to do that.

This was indeed a movie I saw, as a Table-top roleplayer really made me realize, "wow, the people who take this to the next level are really sad..." I don't have any problem with LARPs or anything, its just that sometimes you gotta say "Are they serious?" Some of those guys really get way too into it. Looks like a really interesting documentary. It's got the nerdy side, which is easy to ridicule, but clearly it has something to say about contemporary society and people's fascination with wanting to be something other than themselves. Maybe they do live their lives to their potential, which of course is subjective, their lives can be very diverse, but you wouldn't ascertain that just from watching a movie based around ONE of their hobbies - that'd either make you a brilliant clairvoyant, or really dumb.

I just need to say that these costumes suck. My friend does Steam & Cinders in Mass, and their costumes are so detailed and they all make them themselves. We watched this movie last Friday night and laughed the whole way through at the costumes.

They claim that all LARPers are fat ugly, have low paying jobs and have never had sex. Then I must be doing something wrong. I own 3 companies, out right own 2 houses, am married and have a healthy active social life. I LARP 2 to 3 times a week and rather enjoy it.

Looks like a really interesting documentary. It's got the nerdy side, which is easy to ridicule, but clearly it has something to say about contemporary society and people's fascination with wanting to be something other than themselves. For documentary fans, I've read a couple of reviews and they're impressive. The director done good.
