The W196 was a quantum-leap forward in race car design in it's day.
It was part of Hitler's plan to demonstrate German superiority and funding for it's development and construction came from the government at that time.
Jochen is far from a "punk", Mercedes-Benz only entrust those cars to drivers they respect. Stirling was driving other machinery that day....and sadly the meastro himself passed away in 1995...
This looks like "grand prix legends" - and this is a compliment! It wasn´t easy to steer this cars!
