  • What controller are you using to handle your 79.2 volts?

    How much did the conversion cost you? Where did you buy the kit?

  • Now THAT is fast! Is it the lithium batteries that give you so much speed? I have an electric bike with a Wilderness Energy hub motor run on lead acid batteries. I can get up to 24 mph. I have heard that lithium batteries can increase the speed.

  • Yeah, it's a little too fast.I was doing about 37 mph going up hill. I glanced at the speedo as I went by. I am using lithiums. They are DeWalt batteries that I took apart and reassembled into 24 cells in series for 79.2 volts. It's a crystalyte 5303 motor, the speedy version. Next build will have the 5305, that one is more torquey resulting in less top speed but more off the line punch.
