And I almost forgot to mention, Keeper1st arranged this piece (recomposed the repeat of the second strain, and added a recap of the first strain and introduction to the end)
Great bunch of comments and thanks for the interesting info. It is a beautiful piece of music. Ya dun good! Ron's input is cool to. Ya know "it takes a village.!"
Thanks for the kind words, I'm trying to write more. I have three completed ones, two others that are sort of sketchy, and plans for another, but it isn't a rag, at least not yet, because it isn't syncopated.
I'm going to have to get a diginal video camera so I can start putting my stuff up here myself. I'm nowhere near Tom Brier's piano skill level, but I'm not an abject beginner either.
And though Bob mentions it being a "ripoff of Solace and Paragon" (not sure where Paragon is heard in there, but certainly the first strain contains a line from "Reflection Rag"; the "Solace" bit is Tom's own addition in the first strain), I think it's coincidence, as I'm not sure how many Joplin rags Rudolf has actually heard or seen before. Even I've used a couple bars directly from "Euphonic Sounds" without realizing it, in my rag "The Scorcher" -- same key too! Whoops!
Composer here. I am pretty familiar with Joplin rags, but I wasn't thinking about any Joplin rags when I wrote this, which was in college back in 1995 and some strains really just popped into my head. I havn't had an experience like that since really, where I just had a musical idea that I used. If there is something similar to Joplin it is sheer coincidence in my opinion, for what it's worth. I did not set out to copy anything Joplin wrote, that would be plagarism and I am not a plagarist.

The composer's name is Rudolf Radna. He's a fellow cartoon fan friend of mine from way back in the day.
