@laurencelikestopgun I don't think so. It would make sense for this song to be our national anthem but the next song chosen for our National Anthem was, i believe, America the Beautiful. Another good song, but i would MUCH rather this song and the good thing about this song compared to our current anthem and other choices is that it is considerably shorter. But whatever, all American songs are good! :D

@F14ace I also remember singing this and Yankee Doodle for our 4th grade musical which put all the kids from all the elementary schools together for a concert at the high school auditorium. That was during the Bicentennial and it was great!

My wife, who is from another country was so happy when she got naturalized in 1999. You should see our house on July 4th! It looks like the Stars and Stripes threw up all over it! She appreciates what it means to be an American!
