i still remember seeing the Hips for the first time at a little bar in Tiburon in Northern California with a Chico friend who knew about them. I remember thinking 'these guys are a modern-day CCR with an edge' - i've been a fan ever since.
These guys are incredible instrumentalists! Paul Hoaglin leaves me speechless! I can't even describe what he does to his stable of basses! I've never seen or heard anything like it!! Go see them! Great show!!!
A friend of mine turned me on to these guys. Ever since I've asked myself why aren't these guys famous? Being in NC I know I'll probably never see them. The green hills album is a classic.
This was the first time I was introduced to them/ saw them and I have been hooked ever since!!! Love these guys!

Saw them in Ny at Mercury Lounge. Long time fan. These guys met at Chico State.
