@tubenachos I loved this game as a kid but it was so hard to play due to the side angled perspective... I just now realized you can use the meter on the far left to gauge your height... just great... lmao

You gotta wonder what they were thinking with the parts in space with no ground. There's no possible way to know the altitude the enemies are at, so it's nearly impossible to hit them.

Anrd if a trawler(lateral or frontal) or planes(asteroid or space)shoot your plane down,YOU ARE DEAD MEAT!!And if you shoot 6 times a Zaxxon's loose missile,you win 200 points!!

Watch the the trawlers(both lateral and frontal),the planes in the asteroid, the planes in the space and shoot them all before they bring you down!!And fly the plane between the laser barriers and the walls.If your plane crashes with either the laser barrier or the walls,and even with the trawlers,planes,radar dishes and fuel barrels,YOU ARE DEAD MEAT!!And if you shoot 6 times to the missile(while remaining in the Zaxxon's left arm),you win 1000 points!!

That game is awful. Needing to shot to be able to figure altitide is bad game mecanic. This was is a 3d gimmic. The altitude aspect is too akward to be of any improvement to classic shoters.

If you love Zaxxon and the movie Tron you are a visual effect whore, not a true gaming nerd.

This was another fun arcade game.

I was a master at this game (I was 17 and a manger of a neighborhood video arcade in 1982). I used to turn the score over to all zeros, and my pattern was different than what a cheater's book had printed. If you are on the "land", if you stay at level 1 1/2 marks of altitude, you'll be high enough to avoid the turret shots, yet low enough to blast them. If your shots can go through a hole, or a force field, then you can pass through also.

That's awesome. I'm around your age, & we used to play this at the local roller rink. We'd go there. Put on skates. Then spend the whole session playing arcade games.LOL The only time we'd stop playing, was when they'd have fast skating...then...back to the arcade games LOL. Ahhh, those were the days !
