They're both good for different things. II have a PC that I built that runs Windows 7. I then got a Macbook Pro 13" for school since I'm an Audio engineering major and I have to run Protools and Logic. The only thing I use the PC for now is gaming because it turns out that I like the mac better for everything but gaming. It all depends on what your needs are. So stop arguing about which is better.

@effelloh its not only about the gpu, things like path finding or even just the technic used to handle scene data can suck a lot of juice from the cpu. anyway the last console i had was a goddamn snes loll. And for the clock, i told you to go watch the specs specifically for that reason.

For about the same clock speeds the PC has a more complex architecture designed for general use and perform a lot more "unwanted" operations while a console's architecture is customly designed to process 3d operations faster. Quick example : your console is insanely tweaked to perform floating points operations while a PC process 32bits integers faster than anything else.

@effelloh i really dont know a lot about consoles, but im really not sure that PC hardwares are that ahead. XBox 360 has : 3 symmetrical 3.2 GHz cores, the threading is hardware and customized video card with a 500mhz gpu (the gpu speed on my 8800gts isnt much higher than that) and many more, go watch the spec.. pretty impressive what they put in that little box. The only thing that seem to be behind is the transfer rate of the memory (700mhz). And consider that xbox360 is getting old already

A PC will never perform games as fast as a console for the simple reason that its for a generic use and a console's electric circuit are customly designed to do its 3d job and nothing more. If only you knew all the "useless" and software based operations a pc does when accessing memory / hard drive and all the other hardwares. 100% Hardware beats anything that involve software anyday.

Mac users would see common sense here and buy a Mac for what they need (it does everything my family and my business needs) and either a PS3 or X-Box. I know from experience that having a Mac is CHEAPER in the long term and far less hassle.

I've owned many PCs, and got my first MacBook exactly 1 year ago tomorrow. All of these ads are completely accurate. I haven't had a SINGLE problem using it- not a single crash, virus, speed decrease, or issue with the software. I have loved it, and will NEVER go back. I love iLife 11', and iWork (In my opinion) is better than Microsoft Office. Everything over all is faster, and better. The PCs I owned... By now, I would've thrown away AT LEAST one. Get a Mac, you'll be happy you did.

This ad makes no sense. If you go back to the 80's and 90's you will find mac was not the hip cool OS it is today. It was slow, clunky and incompatible with most software. At the same time, microsoft was getting major success with DOS and Windows,which both fully utilised 3D gaming and had tonnes of software developed for them. Mac had no creative software on it at all and the games were very basic. So the flash back is completely inaccurate.

Either way, i have a mac and will always get a mac plain and simply because i want one...they look and feel better. Most PC's look and feel like cheap garbage. OS X is better. I like the simplicity of a mac even though i'm great with computers. I don't play games on computers because well i have a job a girlfriend, a kid, hockey and golf (a life). I work in a photo editing company and we all use Macs. Aperture 3 is simply the best photo editing software out on the market. Apart from that, the seamless integration with the other applications, and the fact that we have a ten year old Powerbook still running there shows the quality of a Mac, so for our company Mac will always be better, as we never have to worry about fragmentation,viruses and that the system works. Just saying:)
