  • i will be hooking 2 of these up to a amd fx 8120 i am so excited

  • @Spike20102 fx 8120 is shit get a 2500k

  • ffeeeeeeeeee

  • oh yeh totally have it!!!!! getting my 2nd one of these in 2 days :D

  • @stroberocker How is the first one? I'm gonna buy one with my new PC next week. What can it run without any problems?

  • @stroberocker i getting the MSI AMD Radeon HD 6970 Lightning 2048MB GDDR5 soon so will three 23" led monitors run one card on eyefinity oki ?

  • can i run this card with a 400w psu?

    Thanks in advance...

  • @VamosMsAris nah bro I just bought one of these too I am going for at least a 600w Corsair

  • Linus' first time ;D

  • When do you ever stop talking

  • can you have to if you dont have 2 pcie x16 slot my board only has 1 not 2

    can i still have 2

  • @Grafix5 You could only use one of these cards. In order to use two in crossfire, you need two pcie x16 slots

  • i have a q6600 with 8 gb ram and a xfx radeon 6870 instead of a msi one. I run my computer on a 575 watt psu, so far my psu is doing fine. In windows experience index it gets 7.8 in aero and gaming graphics. I can play games like just cause 2 and crysis 2 on the highest settings at 720p res with 8x aa at very playable frame rates. no need to upgrade yet for me. Thumbs if this helped you out.

  • @mrlouist457 also I forgot to mention but I don't have a very high screen and I don't intend to buy one too..my current screen is 1368*768 and it's fine for me so m guessing it should be enough?

  • @mrlouist457 dude people run good gfx card on a dual core CPU I dont see why a quad core won't be able to run this GPU decently as for ram my mobo only supports ddr2 so m adding extra 4gig to 2gb total 6gigs..the mobo is a bit old I admit

  • 6870 or 5870

  • @dimonbmwbox 5870 is little bit better. But 6870 is newer, quieter and later when the price drops you can buy a second on and run them in crossfire.

  • also what is a decent power supply for this card (i currently use 450W)...here is my spec:

    intel core 2 quad Q8200 2.33ghz

    2GB DDR2 (planning to add +4GB DD2)

    320GB SATA HDD

Nvidia 9500GT (for now but i will be buying HD 6870)

    Asus P5KPL-VM mobo

  • @vaibhav402 Ehhh, No offence, But that build isn't that good. To start off, you'll need to buy a better processor to run the 6870

  • hey a small question... i have a ASUS p5kpl-vm mobo and it supports pcie 2.0...will i be able to install this card on my mobo..also will only ASUS gfx card work or i can install Sapphire or xfx cards too? sorry if its a noob question...1st time

  • Hold up, pause the video.

  • Can i put a 750Watt on this?

  • @FGCIbi

    I have a 700W power supply with an I7 and a 6950, so I think; Yes.

  • @FGCIbi you can put a 430W on this

  • A quad-core athlon II at 3.1 ghz wouldn't bottleneck this right? Just making sure :P

  • Geez linus, sometimes you just sounds like theres food in your mouth haha

  • Where do you buy reference designed cards from?

  • I had a 5770 on a 2.66 duo core, 4gb ram, win7 ultimate 32bit. Tried playing arkham city w/ direct x11 enable on 1440 X 900. Wasn't happening tossed out the 5770 replaced it w/ this disgustingly awesome card and able to play arkham city w/ direct x 11 on 1440X 900 avg 60fps. This card has made giggle like a school girl. I can only imagine the fps when I replace my rig. Using mod drivers cause we all know AMD has the driver programing ability of that of a retarded mule that was sexually abused.

  • @nuggz503 Your processor is the problem there, not the HD5770. I have a phenom II 965 BE 3.4ghz and it still bottlenecks an HD5770. It runs dirt 3 @1920x1080 30-60 fps, mostly between 40-50 by itself. It can can take The Witcher 2 on High and Skyrim on ULTRA. Upgrading is a waste of money. I'd rather just buy a whole new PC.

  • @Cpillin425 oh yea im totally aware of the bottle necking issue. Im probably gonna start building a new rig pretty soon. When ever my coz brings a chip from his work. He works at intel, hehe and they toss chips, that are in perfect working condition, away like used coffee grinders. I actually went w/ this card at first but it was extremely loud and got very warm. I exchanged it for the msi twin frozr ii 6870. dead silent and has yet to go over 75F w/ high clock settings.

  • @nuggz503 IF I ever get a new card it's going to be an HD6850, I still have the HD5770 that came with my system by default. Also I have seen an HD6850 would only give me about 10~ or so frames more than I already have.

  • HD 6870 256 bit or EVGA GTX 460 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5?

I currently have a HIS 5770 1gb GDDR5 and looking to upgrade. I've only owned ATI cards in the past and getting kinda tired of dealing with there driver issues. Current specs are duocore 2.66ghz 4gb ram win 7 ultimate 32bit. running dual desktops. Im sure there will be bottlenecking with either cards but im probably going to upgrade the entire rig pretty soon.

  • @nuggz503 That's my thinking.

  • would a gx 750 run 2 of these

  • is it really 3D stereoscopic or its just another lie from ATI, i bougth 2 HD radeon 5770 and tried to download the lates version of that card. but i still cannot play 3D stereoscopic games, jumm i really wanna switch to Nvidia but i know ATI has a lot of good cards but, no of them with 3D. i really hope the think about upgrading on this because everyone know 3D is the future on gaming, movies and Television.

  • jesus, that thing is massive...

  • This card is a screamer! Mine is the XFX HD 6870 version, it gets a Win Performance Index of 7.8 across the board. Sweet : )

  • Can anyone answer? Which VGA/GPU is stronger, the HD6870 or the GTX560 (non-Ti)? (PhysX is useless for me, i just need a GPU that runs BF3 on High (and a bit of ultra) settings at 1080p...)

  • Comment removed

  • @gabrocki

    i would go with a HD 6870

i run BF3 on all ultra settings and even with AA @ 1680x1050

which is not that far away form 1080p

and i get amazing amount of FPS too

  • @amintha100 sounds great! Thanks

  • I'd be pissing into the wind with hooking this into a pentium dual core 3.2Ghz system, wouldn't I? :(

  • @RangerParus Well i did and it actually runs crysis 2..

  • @Alexanderdanice Oooh! Cheers!

I might give it a pop then. I've managed to get the PDC E6700 3.2 up to 3.5GHz on stock cooling so I'll be giving it a bash. Thanks for the reassurance.

  • @RangerParus Well watch out cuz mine is at 70c.. and im using my 200 dollars water cooling system :/ so ill recommend a core 2 quad they arent that expensive :D

  • @RangerParus Mine is at 4.0 ghz too so :/ thats my low end rig and i dont use it anymore i use my phenom x4 970 :D

  • @Alexanderdanice It runs at about 55-62 degrees C which is bearable. I'm on a midway upgrade path at the minute and the total investment has been in everything but the motherboard and cpu. The cpu I salvaged out a friend's pc thinking it would work with my 775 board but it didn't. My pc being from the dark ages I decided to get some decent RAM, a decent case, HD and PSU. The plan is to upgrade at the end of summer and get a new motherboard and cpu combo for around the £400 mark.

  • @Alexanderdanice ....Which is why I was looking at this card. If it goes on my set up on middle settings then I'm happy since it's saving investment again later on, and when I do then I'll look into running two together.

  • @RangerParus You'd need to run eyefinity to not bottleneck the card haha

  • @233kosta There's that "bottleneck" word again.

  • @RangerParus hahahahaahahahahahhaha

  • @3Target33 As helpful as that comment is I'm fully aware that I won't get the best out the card, and yes I'm aware that with any game I play the CPU is going to be the limiting factor but for the sake of the £30 between a "suitable pairing" and this I'd rather buy the card for the next upgrade now.

There's so much snobbery about PC components it's unbelievable. You can have a cpu, gpu and mobo that's capable of anything under £450 so let's not pretend it's expensive.

  • @RangerParus motherboards don't really help the performance, it just depends if the PCI slot is 16x a cheapy $100 motherboard will do, but it will lack features like more PCIe slots and less RAM slots, i personally love big motherboards. sooo...

  • @3Target33 Yeah, I know. I like features, though but RAM is getting so cheap these days that you can be torn between buying two 4Gb sticks and leaving the other two empty and being happy with it or wanting to fill them with the max you can afford.

Game debate gives my processor a 7 rating with the overclock that it's running since it's on 3.86GHz so the bottleneck is not really a massive issue just now.

  • @RangerParus oh, ok.so do you think IF i got an old CPU and overclocked to 3.5GHz and watercooled it, would it preform as good as a standard non-overclocked CPU at 3.5Ghz?

    Thanks

  • @3Target33 Well that's an obvious no but it does close the gap.

Just to be clear here I'm not some kind of newbie, I've been building PC's for years. This is a dramatic processor/motherboard combo is a downgrade from what I had a year ago but needs must and I'm living with it. You build a pc around it's main application and mine isn't games, even if it is in a HAF 922. The Dual Core E6700 didn't cost me anything, the motherboard was £60 so I'm making the situation work. Sorry if that isn't L33t.

  • @RangerParus i respect you dude.

  • @RangerParus Really depends if your playing CPU or GPU dependent games

  • @oWhiteMonster Who said anything at all about games?

  • @RangerParus Well if your doing WORK or RENDERING then obviously that's CPU dependent.

  • @oWhiteMonster

Right, I'm just going to have to go round in circles, aren't I? I had an i7-950 based system but for reasons I won't go into I don't now. An E6700 Wolfdale fell into my lap and the choice of having sod all or using it for the sake of £40 I used it. I do intend to get a new base but not just yet so there's no point in buying a lower end GPU and then buying this in nine months. If my current system plus this does what I need it to until then I'm happy.

  • @RangerParus at least a quad core or dont bother lol

  • @scorpgul I got a 6850 and it's fine. Just stick to the CPU minimum requirements and it holds it's share. As I've said to many, many other people who've brought this up again and again and again in the last few months, I've a full system overhaul due in June so that's another 6850s, a new Mobo and likely at the minute an FX8150. the choice of buying a £80 graphics card last november instead of the 6850 and then having to buy two 6850's six months later is a no brainer if it works.

    So "lol".

  • @scorpgul So currently at 3.84GHz dual core, 8Gb RAM and a HD 6850, Corsair GS800 PSU.

  • @RangerParus sadly, yes

  • you look like a grown up version of the kid from Cujo

  • Can it be connected to only one 6 pin molex power supply?

Congrats 4 your videos, they're so great.

  • Comment removed

  • how long and wide is this card please respond as soon as possible

  • Comment removed

  • cara você mostra só as peças top de linha. muito bom seus vídeos.

  • Should i use 2 of the xfx dual fan edition in 8x8x or one in 16x

  • what video card can u 3 way crossfire ? and 300 down ?

  • you should film all your videos in eyefinity veiw

  • Comment removed

  • ATI is canadian AMD is american

  • @96stewie96 shoot i meant to thumb this up woops....Thumb UP up upupupup....

  • Keep in mind if you're running dual monitors like me and you happen to use 2 VGA monitors for that it won't work on this card. I have the XFX version of it. The top port is a regular DVI port that can handle VGA montiors and the bottom is a special DVI port. DVI-D i think, it can only take signals from a DVI montior not a VGA monitor with a VGA to DVI adapter.

  • AMD sounds nicer then ATI atleast its my opinion xD

  • what does ATi even mean? like AMD means advanced micro devices....but ATi...?

  • @cedar234 Array Technology Inc.

  • ooo nice sticker.

  • @MegaMnguyen

    I would say no..........

  • That's what I'm using

  • Guys what if I get a AMD Phenom II X4 955 CPU with this card. Would that be enough to run Battlefield 3 at medium to high settings?

  • @MW2Addiction I have an overclocked version of this card and I have a x4 955 try to aim higher for a cpu its worth it the 955 is good but overclocking is a made harder seen as though the cpu tops out around 65c max load and yes it will be fine if you run eyefinity you might struggle

  • @JJROADSTA Im kinda noobish at this but whats Eyefinity?

  • @MW2Addiction Thats ok you're not alone any way eyefinity is running 2 - 6 displays as one its not the same as having a big tv. It allows you to have a bigger view so like mw2 you see a gun in the middle and more things to left and right that you wont see if you have one monitor you be better off looking it up and bare in mind if you do this you need more graphics power which means less chance of running 1080

  • get a 965 black edition amd cpu or 970 or 980

  • @MW2Addiction Eyeinfinity = a multiple display setup...

  • @MW2Addiction i think with this card you should be able to play on extra settings smooth. This is one of the top video cards in the market

  • @MW2Addiction I got the overclocked version of this card and I have a x4 955 BE and i have to say it is amazing runs Dirt 3 maxed 120fps Assassins creed brotherhood maxed 70 fps I havent tried much games on it yet

  • Amigo!!! esta tarjeta iene mejor rendimiento que la xfx 6870?

  • @MegaMnguyen AMD CPU with an AMD GPU is a myth!

  • I like his review. He speaks clearly, gets to the point and informative. Thanks! I'm getting this card by the way. Also, great cameraman.

  • I like his review. He speaks clearly, gets to the point and informative. Thanks! I'm getting this card by the way.

  • I would've changed the branding right away not take years to do it.

  • Guys please reply fast, which card is better, the GTX560Ti 1GB or this card, the HD6870?

  • @gabrocki go to toms hardware.com

and check the section best graphics card for the money

  • @AzamHQ okay but which has better performance???

  • @gabrocki From what I know Radeon 6870 has better general performance.

  • @gabrocki check out the benchmarks on the website . (i guess its a lil hard to navigate it through) but it seems the 560 ti is slightly faster than the 6870.

  • @AzamHQ yeah its pretty hard causei couldnt find it yet xD im gonan try again

  • before i buy this card i whould like to know if this card will run on a 430w power supply

    computer specs right now:

    AMD Athlon 2 170u

    9800 gt

    500gb hd

    multi media disc drive

    2gb memory

    windows 7 home

  • @YESIAMMCLOVIN69 with specs like that this card would be pointless for you.

  • @YESIAMMCLOVIN69 Yup its true those components will bottleneck the shit out of that card making it pointless.

  • @YESIAMMCLOVIN69 it requires at least 500w as i know. get above 500w just to make sure its fine

  • @YESIAMMCLOVIN69 i would also change the cpu sooner or later :)

  • @YESIAMMCLOVIN69 need minimum 500 watt

  • buy me that and i will give you a like

  • core i7 6 core black cpu, this card, 12gb of corsair vengance ram, and a asus X58. will a 850w be enough with this system?

  • Comment removed

  • @samsungfan1041 Actually, yes. You can even go Dual if you want to.

  • In 30 years, a PC will fit on the tip of our finger. Graphics cards, however, will apparently need to be housed in their own warehouse.

  • @N728BS then how do you get the graphics card in the PC that will "fit on a fingertip"

  • @N728BS PMSL - my thoughts entirely lol.

  • @N728BS lets just leave it at 69 thumbs up

  • If you only want 3 displays will you still need to use the 2 mini display ports?

  • Mine comes in the mail tomorrow! Whooo.

  • i cant wait to recieve this card OMFG!!!!

  • Do you voice Zero from GTA San Andreas? No really I want to know.

  • HELP i have the Gigabyte hd 6870 but i cant get mor than P16400 points on Vantage , i have the phenom ii 1075 and 4 gb of ram what can be the problem of this slow score and playing gta4 it lags plz help , can it be the power suplay beacose i have a 550W thermaltek HELP and on gpu-z the max core clocke is 900 but memory is max 1050 ???? whay

  • @erenei it's not the power supply the recommended power for the card is 500+, id say it's the drivers update em to the most current ones

  • @wstk123 i can tell, it does have the latest driver steell lags ,in the box of the psu it seas 480W and in max pwer it is 550W , when i play gta it starts to lage at some point but when i minimised the game and maximasef id gose ok for a few minutes than it starts laging agen

  • this guy sounds like a major fag. no hating

  • @BradKnowsBest I don't really think its how he sounds, more of how he knows so much about this stuff.

  • @Trollersarefaggggits wrong. you dont pronouns "RADEON" like *RAYDON..the "E" in Radeon is there for a reason..so that you wont pronouns it RAYDON but RAYDEEON

    just sayin

  • will this be bottlenecked by a 3.4 ghz Intel core duo e6320 ad 4 gigs of RAM

  • @vladrocks1 the cpu will be bottle necked, not the gpu

  • will this go into my motherboard?

    ASUS P5G41T-M

  • too much effort going into multi display technology. Projectors are so awesome these days, just need to run one display to 110 inch screen at max resolution.

  • 5870 or this i will be going crossfire ? =)

  • @tanaii1 5870 is more powerful.

  • will it run Battlefield 3 well?

  • @loopba Yes.

  • @loopba thats why I bought one lol so I hope so

  • @loopba Of course -_-

  • is this guy gay?

  • @ScottPCGaming No. He wears socks with sandals. Cannot be gay. -.-

  • more than a simple unboxing... a class about this graphics card

  • Could someone tell me the difference between a MSI 6870 and a Asus 6870? What's the difference ?

  • @yiyas444 their look. PLUS if you buy the DirectCu version of the ASUS 6870 its easier to overclock as i heard. but apart from that, absolutely nothing. their price, maybe.

  • is this better than the 6790

  • @XSHAMU64X kinda dumb question -.-' its a lot ***cking better i guess

  • one thing i learned today lol... ATI is now AMD,,, didn't know that

  • @Disturbed4everlive

    Thanks. I didn't know xD

  • @Disturbed4everlive i think its always been the part of AMD but they no longer use the name ATI.

  • @Disturbed4everlive Their in development of implementing ATI with an AMD chipset.

  • @ZaPeeXP I'd recommend an 850W PSU. 1TB is a bit overkill, but if you've go the dough, go for it. Make sure you've got at least a Quad-Core, and I personally would choose a 6870 or 6950, so, you're pretty good.

  • @ZaPeeXP i5 2500K FTW. And Maybe A Gtx560ti? It's alot faster. And I'm Not A INTEL FAN BOY. I'm Currently Running a AMD X4 925 @ 3.6 GHZ.

  • @ZaPeeXP instead of getting the HD 6970, get the HD 6950, they are actually the SAME card, and just following a tutorial of youtube you can literally transform it into a HD 6970 (it is prooved that becomes a 6970 because you can crossfire it with an original 6970) so buying the 6950 you save some punds, about the HDD, the case and the RAM they are nice, and about the motherboard while you can put all those things you want is nice, and the CPU tell me if is a X2, X4 or X6

  • @ZaPeeXP tell how much money you have and i will say what things can you get

  • i thought ATI sounded better :(

  • hi, can you tell me how long this card is in cm?

  • should i get this card or a 560ti bearing in mind the 560ti is £30 (60US$) more.

  • @2564651jcr They are both great cards bro, the GTX 560Ti will perform better as it being abit more expensive, the GTX 560Ti has near HD 6950 performance levels, but can't go wrong with either...

  • @Lionheart1188 thanks im actually looking at the 6970 now seeing as i want to max crysis 2 haha

  • @2564651jcr Lol, same bro, Im actually going to buy 1 for now, and another one for some crossfire, can't go wrong with dat lol...oh and a HD 6970 will easily max out crysis 2...enjoy!

  • @Lionheart1188 or maybe the 6950 its hard theres so many and the 6970 is a bit expensive (my income is a paper round lol)

  • @2564651jcr Lmao ah ok, I used to have dat type of job/income, can't go wrong with a HD 6950 bro...

  • @Lionheart1188 thanks alot looks like i have 3 weeks left of saving ahead of me although i could get a 900mhz 6870 in 2 weeks.. u reckon i could max crysis with that??? once again thanks for all your help

  • @2564651jcr All gd bro, glad to help. A HD 6870 will max out crysis and crysis 2 but at low resolutions like 1680x1050 and lower, you should have decent framerates at those resolutions but any higher you will notice more big dips in fps, if your playing at 1920x1080 I would recommend the HD 6950 bro, hope dat helps...

  • @Lionheart1188 yeh turns out the released a 560ti SOC 1000mhz for the same price as a 6950 and its alot more powerful im defo gonna get it haha thanks for all ur help

  • @2564651jcr Lol kool bro, you will love the card, glad to help...^_^

  • @Lionheart1188 since my native resolution is 1440x900 was ordering a 6870 overkill, to go along with my core 2 quad q8400 oc @ 3.55ghz{turbo}

  • @DTF161 It might be abit overkill yes, but too be honest bro, I would still go with the card even at that resolution, and down the line you could pick up a bigger monitor. A card like that at hat resolution you should be able to play every game out there on PC max settings, and nice overclock on ur CPU too.

  • @Lionheart1188 thanks but im using a 20 inch full hdtv that can be used as a pc screen since i have hdmi slot, the native resolution for pc is 1440x900 but for consoles 1920x1080

  • @Lionheart1188 bro you got a steam name ?
