  • Ive been doing Taekwondo for 2 months now, and whenever i throw a side kick, i just get pain in my hip on the opposite side. Is this normal and will this pain eventually go?

  • You should post a comment on one of Paul Zaichik's videos. ElasticSteel account or his website. You will get your questions answered there.

  • you should just look for hip stretch exercises

  • @pjc5150

that happens if your opposite hamstring muscle to the one throwing the kick isnt strechted enough

  • Thank you for this. You really know your side kick.

  • We'll pass your props to Paul.

  • Thanks for the comments

  • in italiano grazieeeeeeeeeee

  • You are correct. You can loose control and balance. Everything depends on your level of training and conditioning. Does that mean people should not learn how to do side kick properly?

  • You can loose so easily control of your body with high and side kicks.

It might look cool or esthetic, but they aren't effectiv in real fights.

Look for vids where someone fights Taekwondo and another one Kickboxing or Thai Boxing.

  • what are you talking about???!?! search cung le in youtube and you will see how effective the sidekick is in a fight.

  • @DojiSan He is a side kicking expert with his strongest side up front and throws it with full power and sets it up perfectly and it still does no where near as much damage nor is it anywhere near as effective as round kicks and boxing punches.
