Listen folks, come to the corner of LBJ and Hopkins streets on wednesdays from 6pm-7pm. Come to protest this criminal regime. Come out and protest before its illegal.
Our army is volunteer only. Yes our soldiers are paid. They should be paid more. But that is a chosen job. Just like my job is a chosen job. It's not fine print. It's common sense what the duties of a person joining the military are. Just because the World-wide Media doesn't show how much good the USA Government and Military does. Doesn't make it not true. As our young people get older and vote and make our country work. I hope they can see through the negative and show honor to the world.
Read a history book. Without war we wouldn't be a country. Without war slavery would still be legal. Without war Hitler would still be killing innocent people. And without War Saddam would be doing the same. With great blessings comes great responsibility. We the United States of America are very blessed. We are also called to help others. Letting Hitler and Saddam kill innocent people isn't responsible. It's called Sacrifice. It's called Duty. It's called Honor.
If the government would do what we elected them to do, support and follow the constitution, I would be happier. But they arent doing their job at all. "It's common sense what the duties of a person joining the military are." What common sense? The job of a soldier is to follow orders. That's it. The orders could be appropriate or not, these days the common soldier claims no right to disobey an innappropriate order. One duty of a good soldier is to disobey an inappropriate order.
And if we could not go to war with terrorists then I am all for it. But if you look at the facts and understand the way these people are raised to think and live. You and every critic on the war on Terror would quit stirring up so much controversy over our government doing what we elected them to do. Protect it's citizens and serve them. We saw 9/11/01. We see the beheadings on TV. These people do not negotiate and playing dumb and saying war is bad will only continue hurting our country.
I understand this is a hard concept to understand from a liberal who wants to use "Peace Talks" to calm a Terrorist Group down who is holding a M-16 at our Countries Flag and innocent people. But it is a very easy concept. Someone comes into my house and tries to harm me or my family... They will be confonted by myself and I will do everything to make sure my family is protected. If calming the burgler down with peaceful converation works for you... Great! But I want to feel safe in the USA
Phoofster, it is obvious your primitive mind can only think in very simple terms. So save yourself a lot of effort and take my word that you are wrong in every aspect of your argument. Where did the "peace talk" quote come from? I never spoke of that. Quit making shit up. Why do you say it is duty and honor to let hitler and sadaam kill innocents? This is a perfect example of the average war suporter. He has NO REAL EVIDENCE. Just fallacies to promote.
And 9-11-2001 happened shortly after.Love Bush or hate Bush he has kept our country safe the last 7 years. Instead of the Muslim Extremest coming to to our turf to fight and blow our innocent people up. We under President Bush's leadership and integrity have taken the war to them. I am completely humbled by what we did as a country to help a country in need and we will continue helping "Countries" not just Iraq but all Humans to be free. It's our responsibility as the greatest Nation on Earth
My only wish is for you to have the peace and happiness that God wishes for us all to have. Thanks for commenting and I hope you have a beautiful evening and a joyous tomorrow.
There is a bigger situation going on than just the 'war on terror'. We have many war criminals, descendents of nazis and otherwise evil people working at the highest levels of our government. Henry Kissenger has standing war crime charges against him in many countries. Arnold Schwarzenegger's father was in the SS. Karl Rove's father was a Nazi equivilent of a state governor. George W's grandfather, Prescott Bush, was outed by Gen Smedley Butler in 1934 in a attempted Nazi coup d'etat. -continued
There are also people like John Yoo of the attorney general's office, who says that it is ok to "sexually torture children", in order to extract info from their parents. I do not want any of this done in my name. You can't trust people with these credentials. Merely by these qualifications I willnot trust anything these people do. I should mention the policy in iraq as told by iraq veterans, is when fired upon to kill everyone in sight, not to hunker down and radio back for orders as was sop.
I lived in San Marcos for 5 years and half of these people standing out here don't even know what they are protesting. Its the whole Hippi anti war, anti human life movement in the small town of San Marcos. We moved to a much more inteligent town without these people. People who actually support human life even if it's not just American Life. Thanks to our Soldiers for fighting for others lives as well!!!!
You are so full of shit phoofster, first of all I don't know how you make any thing we do out there to be "anti human life" but that's just your lying ways. I bet you are one of those many whordes of zombie pussies in san marcos. You, I guarantee, are one of those people so scared of thinking on your own that you refuse to even look over at us. We've been there for 3 years so when you want to respond, I'll be at this same corner every wednesday until I am hauled off to an internment camp.
I don't know who you are or where you come from but please stop with the vulgar language. 2nd we went there to free a country from internal terrony. Something we in the USA don't have to deal with. Third, if you haven't been watching but in just 2 weeks overseas more than 60,000 people have been killed by nature. In Iraq only 3500 United States trained volunteers have died for someone elses freedom. You wouldn't know about that because your only interested in your own agenda.
I understand that you would worry more about my spelling than another country who people were suffering under a harsh dictatorship. If you had it your way we wouldn't have a military. Have you looked at just how many USA terrorist plots we have caught before they happened. But I guess if war is bad and we shouldn't be on the offensive. We should just wait till there is an explosion in my backyard or yours. Then jump up and do something. Not My Country. Clinton did that with Bin Laden.
What do the deaths from storms and earthquakes have to do with the war in Iraq? Are you saying I should protest natural disasters? As of today, the DoD says the US confirmed deaths is 4078. The soldiers are NOT volunteers. While they signed up under their own volition, they are getting paid. Therefore they are not volunteers.
People, like you, who support the war have the blood of over a million Iraqis on their hands. Because you are doing nothing do end the genocide occuring in the Middle East and elsewhere, this is why you are guilty as if you were murdering innocents.
Sometimes it is hard for us to hear what the people in the cars are saying so I just smile. Come back some time and talk to us. I think even if you don't agree with us, you will find that we've all thought about this a lot and have personal stakes in this war. Thank you for your comment.
Thanks USMC-PVT- I'm trying to put together a thoughtful replay but this is not the best format. Having a 500 character limit is a bit stifling. Like any informal group we have our own reasons for being on that corner every Wednesday. There are different people there each week for different reasons. I'm a Christian who feels that the invasion of Iraq & its conduct, does not come close to meeting the criteria for a "Just" war. War in Iraq has caused a diversion from rebuilding Afghanistan.
Most of us are also concerned with the use of torture and anti constitutional tactics in dealing with real and alleged terrorism. That's just a few of the reasons I will join the weekly protest.
I try & emphasize a peaceful/non-violent approach. There are others who try to be more confrontational. We've got one Vietnam era vet who sometimes forgets that we are there to show our support for the concept of "Peace." He's ready to mix it up with anyone.
For the most part we are all articulate people with well put together thoughts & feelings about why they are there. I'm sure that people join in who simply don't like us being at war with people dying & do not have a clearly defined, thought out, or informed opinions. We appreciate their support but they speak for themselves, not all the people on the corner.
Well damnit now you made me look like an asshole, or I did that myself. What part of what we are doing do you not disagree with specifically? I asked a girl at one of those protests one day what she thinks about the gassing of the Kurds and a few other questions and she had no idea what I was talking about. You should help educate your following protesters about what they are even protesting.
I hate these damn people. I drove past them on the way to camp mabry in uniform one day (I go to Texas State, and am in the USMC reserves) and stopped at that light, they were all shouting and shit and I just looked at them and the ones that saw my uniform stopped yelling and just kinda looked embarrassed. Bunch of pussies.
Peace of the Lord Be Always With You. We have the utmost respect for our men and women in uniform. We simply disagree with the policies y'all are ordered to carry out. Many of our members are veterans. Thanks for the comment. Peace, 1Bignick (I accidentally deleted the original response and reposted what I think I said)
usmc, are you even aware that your C&C bush has started to dissolve the very country you are fighting for with the North American Union. The NAU is part of a trade agreement called the Security & Prosperity Partnership. Bush signed it into law in april 07. They will replace the dollar with the "amero", just like the euro.
Thanks for commenting. We have had protestors who have been to Iraq. However, whether or not any of us have been to Iraq is completely irrelevant. We have the right to protest the actions of our government. Knowing that something is wrong does not require first had experience of that wrong. God's peace be with you.
I went by there last Wednesday but no one was there. Did you guys not get the word that the war is not over.
