  • Thank you; for doing you. And, artistically sharing a new way.

  • Thank you Snake

  • Inspirational, I so needed to hear this guy speak, thanks for posting.

  • @monkeymagik3 its called "Home" by Little Brother

  • Hi, I looking for someone who can speak french, because I would like to understand this interview.

    Merci d'avance ^^.

  • nice man, my cuz went to the same high school as Aaron told me about the strips in the highschool newspapers, very inspiring guy

  • im a big fan love your work i just made this you-tube account can you tell me the name of that clean beat near the beginning of this dope interview? it starts like 10 seconds in to the video

  • DOMO!!!!

  • You one Solid kat yo. Lemme tell you, I was browsin around Dev when I noticed you. I was like :O thats a dope style. When I saw your influence chart I was like sheet lol thats almost mine yo. I was always undesicive with going to school or not and how blacks are accepted into the industry but you cleared everything up. Big ups on stickin to your grind being our role model man. I hope to work with you or meet you in the near future.

  • I got so much inspiration from you I'm buying my tools for my beginning manga is it smart to buy beginner books for manga to study forms.

  • very inspiring, i am also a black aspriring artist and i hope to reach your level one-day or better yet surpass you and everyone else, thank you for doing what you do

  • Suck on this racist people, blacks are as capable as whites! I'm white by the way XD Dude, I watched about 3 episodes of Boondoks and it was totally badass, I'm about to buy the dvds one of these days ;D

  • How do you spell the name of the anime that there was an episode of on the vhs?

  • Could you record that tape? Ill buy a copy!

  • Ahh you're self-taught!? That's just fantastic dude. You're so inspirational to me; for one thing, you're living proof that all you need is hard work to break into this industry. And another thing, you're a minority, and it's refreshing to see someone who's non-white in this business. Not like it matters, like you said, but as a minority myself it certainly does put a smile on my face. I'm going to start doing those movie thumbnail exercises of my favorite animations.

  • Inspirational!!

  • I have to start doing that thumbnail, movie thing. I want to be able to draw scenes like they occur in movies too....

  • So people like to talk about you going straight into work and skipping art school. Do you think it's still a good idea to pay for school or you think it's easy to teach yourself? I really want to go into animation and I'm excited about school. I'm just not so excited about the cost. lol

    Also, awesome shirt. lol

  • @deadlyxoasis I think it's a good idea to stay hungry, pursue knowledge of what it is you want to do & surround yourself with like-minded people who are going where you're going. You can get that in school, or you can get that by building a circle. I don't think school for animation is the end -all, be-all. But i also wont encourage you to SKIP school if you have the opportunity to attend. Everybody learns their own way at their own pace.....CONTINUED>

  • @deadlyxoasis CONT: You have 4 year graduates in animation and illustration who have AWFUL portfolios. They wont get that gig. But you have guys who didnt go to art school and studied on their own and run circles around art school graduates. I know of guys with a degree in fine art and illustration doing NOTHING with the degree, and i have a great number of friends who didn't attend art school enjoying good success with their great talent and skill. It's about what you make of it. CONT:

  • @deadlyxoasis CONT: it's up to the individual. I WILL say this, and I am speaking completely for myself here: I'm happy that i don't owe an institution 90k-120K for a degree in my in field that i love, as I'd hate to spend the rest of my life paying off loans for a career that may or may not pay off the fee for said education, lol. What you choose is whats best for you, neither what I or anyone else says. Good luck and thanks for the interest, bro! :-D

  • @deadlyxoasis dude forget school, true art comes from within, u r born an artist u don't become one...

I know artists of birth and wannabes, wannabes most have work cause of what's written on a paper, the real ones?! Those pass for "wannabes"

  • @deadlyxoasis I had to go to work to pay my own bills, to suport my life, my wife, and still could not find space and time to get a paper saying "this guy is the shit cause he learned how to draw on a school with teachers so he shall work as an ilustrator with no problem at all" the fact is many ppl say I got the skills and that I could be someone really happy doing what I love the most and earning a living

  • @deadlyxoasis the fact is that's not that easy.. I had to quit school and I am not cocky but one must differ reality from desire...and my m8s from school already graduated r already on the business and they don't KNOW SHIT about art drawing or whatever, they do it by the book, by imitating, only that..

  • @deadlyxoasis idraw since I was 6, I am 23 never ever stoped, i passed 3 years straight basing my OWN study and evolution on a single objective, be it anatomy, be it movement whatever, so I could get that stuff straight in no time..it's a passion, a job u do with love not obligation....AND SCHOOL OBLIGATES U

  • @deadlyxoasis sorry about the testament man just wanted to open up to someone who might ear me ;D

Just wanted to share my way of thinking...cheers friend

  • I come from the same neighborhood as Lesean. He is the truth, and the truth shall prevail!

  • You are a BIG Role model for me, I'm also a black manga artist. It encourages me to know I wont be the only one out there. Thanks again for the inspiration. >:D

  • man that breaking down scenes in movies is such a good idea. i totaly need to do that shit aswel. • Dude, I plan to be where you are in a few years myself. I'm just having a lot of self doubt. I need to just shrug that off, have patience, take things for what they're worth, summon my inner Jawa, and salvage what's left of my diligence.

  • I've noticed that your characters have very intricate detail in their faces/bodies and it's amazing. I was going to ask if you use a book that teaches you how to do it or do you just draw real people a lot and then integrate that into your artwork? Keep up the awesome work man and God Bless :)

  • didnt saw this interviwes, you are the man
