Would you be able to suggest any United States drug store mascaras? The more I'm learning about makeup and the products I'm using, I'm noticing what I do and don't like with certain products. I'm looking for the perfect mascara lol! Not one that dries out, flakes, isn't really 'waterproof' like it says, etc. Thanks so much!!!

My lashes also are not curled (curse in the family lol) and I find the old mascaras worked better than the new ones. I find the new ones greasy and they don't stick to my eyelashes. I swear that when I see these commercials, the models are, to begin with, wearing fake eyelashes before putting on mascara (which is why we presume they are longer). I go with my gut instinct to buy what I can to create nice lashes for myself.
Incredible how cosmetics companies can Get away with almost anything. In Norway where these things Are pretty strict, they have tried to Get to them for years, but hopeless. It would include billion dollar lawsuits and that kind of things. Same goes for wrinkle cremes etc.etc. Etc.

Love your commentary. Funny, isn't it, that the purpose of mascara is to simply make our lashes look good. For me, its really all about the applicator. I have very long lashes so I love the big round bristly applicators and the little ball to do my inner lashes. The only other qualification is that is it black and waterproof. The claims of everything else are irrelevant, and yet all the manufacturers continue to try and come up with new fancy descriptions that will pass the claim test!

Benefit does mascara (that's real) with ordinary wand but with ball at the end. There's no need to buy it, ladies can give you the same disposable wand so u can try it with any other mascara and get the same result.

OMG, that fabulash (waterproof) from revlon clumped my lashes, and it flaked something horrible, and that got in my eyes too. If I wasn't careful with it, I'd end up making a mess on my eyelid too.
ahahahaha, this reminded me of something funny. My mother and I are big makeup junkies, and we were watching television and a commercial came on for a mascara that would help "grow" the lashes, and "lengthen" them and everything you can think of, they said. Funny part was, my mother really thought hers would look like model in the commercial, until i explained to her that the model had on false lashes. I just dislike it when they do that. Make the models NOT wear false lashes, its lying.
Loreal has a mascara wand with the little torture ball at the end and also Avon has a mascara with a really AWESOME brush its called Super Magnify PLEASE REVIEW it!!!!

I really like the maxfactor ads for mascara because you can see that they don't use inserts or fake lashes and I trust a brand like that because they seem more truthful.
I have always said this! That's why I usually just pick up Great Lash, as I like to call Old Reliable, its cheap, it lengthens, it darkens. Do you not like drugstore brands?

xSparkage once said that a good way of testing mascara was to put it on your arm hairs (if there are any). It's not quite the same as eyelashes, but I guess you can test the consistancy and the applicator brush. :D Great vid - I thoroughly enjoyed ^_^
Great video!With all the outrageous claims I just don't know what to pick any more.The girls on the counters just spin out a load of rubbish and the labels on products obviously claim to work miracles.You just don't know what you're buying nowadays.I would so appreciate a tutorial on the chemical composites to be avoided in products(like paraben for example) that would at least be some kind of reference when it comes to choosing. I hate that the cosmetic companies get away with lies. Recently bought 24 hour long lasting lips by Maybelline - what rubbish, it didn't last the 8 hour work day. It's refreshing to find somebody that tells it like it is, and is right to the point. That old adage of "if it sounds to good to be true..." applies "especially " ! when buying make-up. Thanx for keeping it real Wayne.
FYI, in the US if you want to try the little spiky ball for your mascara but you don't have $30 for Givenchi (at Sphora), go to CVS and get loreal telescopic explosion. Same brush, costs $11. Mine is in carbon black and I'm loving it. Can't speak for the Givenchi one tho, never tried it. I imagine is just as good if not better.
I always look for the "models styled with lash inserts" notice on mascara ads, and if I see it, I don't buy the mascara. Show me what the mascara *really* does, I'm not here to buy false eyelashes!

CLINIQUE!!!! their high impact curling mascara is AMAZING, it curls your lashes SO WELL and if you want a thick look, two coats give a super dense look. If you want a less dramatic version, their normal high impact mascara is really good and subtle, but easy to build up too. If you want a really subtle look, I believe they have a third one which I used to use, with a very small brush which leaves you looking like your eyelashes are tinted, and not like you're wearing mascara.
@ImiM191 Yayyyy I'm so glad someone else likes them too :D Clinique are so under rated! I wonder, is it because the packaging is a bit bland? Who cares. Maybe that's even why they are kind of affordable? Nothing like Clinique mascaras. And one thing you forgot to mention, it's got all the benefits of waterproof mascara, only better, without the disadvantages of having to use yukk eye makeup remover - warm water will do :) XXX

I'm so glad that you posted this. This is my #1 makeup problem. Yet mascara is the one makeup item I can't do without.
Can anyone tell me whether the recommended mascaras or any other mascara that comes to mind is good for really really sensitive eyes? I have spent so much money (and pain/irritation) on mascaras that just bother my eyes even if they look nice. All I really want is something that darkens and lengthens and doesn't kill my eyes.
If you get a chance, try Mally's mascara. It's my favorite, a close second is Tarte, Light's Camera Lashes. Both are great for long, thick lashes without working hard to get them.

I bought UNE mascara (black), and I'm using it after tightening my belt and giving up the Estee Lauder mascara in exchage for a cheaper one. I am happy and the result is similar. Not to mention UNE advertised the use of natural ingredients in their products and no artificial colours, fragrances, parabens etc, which is pretty cool.

@MissEmbrya that's completely right, I have never understood why they do that. do they think we (consumers) are stupid? i use Great lash to by Maybelline or a french one called Bourgeois (1001 cils) and it works perfectly on me. No need to use false lashes.

xSparkage once said that a good way of testing mascara was to put it on your arm hairs (if there are any). It's not quite the same as eyelashes, but I guess you can test the consistancy and the applicator brush. :D Great vid - I thoroughly enjoyed ^_^

Great video!With all the outrageous claims I just don't know what to pick any more.The girls on the counters just spin out a load of rubbish and the labels on products obviously claim to work miracles.You just don't know what you're buying nowadays.I would so appreciate a tutorial on the chemical composites to be avoided in products(like paraben for example) that would at least be some kind of reference when it comes to choosing. It would be great if you could do that! have a great day!

I hate that the cosmetic companies get away with lies. Recently bought 24 hour long lasting lips by Maybelline - what rubbish, it didn't last the 8 hour work day. I complained to Maybelline and returned it to them. Customers need to make them more accountible. Money wasted! Thanks for an insightful video

FYI, in the US if you want to try the little spiky ball for your mascara but you don't have $30 for Givenchi (at Sphora), go to CVS and get loreal telescopic explosion. Same brush, costs $11. Mine is in carbon black and I'm loving it. Can't speak for the Givenchi one tho, never tried it. I imagine is just as good if not better.

CLINIQUE!!!! their high impact curling mascara is AMAZING, it curls your lashes SO WELL and if you want a thick look, two coats give a super dense look. If you want a less dramatic version, their normal high impact mascara is really good and subtle, but easy to build up too. If you want a really subtle look, I believe they have a third one which I used to use, with a very small brush which leaves you looking like your eyelashes are tinted, and not like you're wearing mascara.

Maybe that's even why they are kind of affordable? Nothing like Clinique mascaras. And one thing you forgot to mention, it's got all the benefits of waterproof mascara, only better, without the disadvantages of having to use yukk eye makeup remover - warm water will do :) XXX

I'm so glad that you posted this. This is my #1 makeup problem. Yet mascara is the one makeup item I can't do without.
Can anyone tell me whether the recommended mascaras or any other mascara that comes to mind is good for really really sensitive eyes? I have spent so much money (and pain/irritation) on mascaras that just bother my eyes even if they look nice. All I really want is something that darkens and lengthens and doesn't kill my eyes.

If you get a chance, try Mally's mascara. It's my favorite, a close second is Tarte, Light's Camera Lashes. Both are great for long, thick lashes without working hard to get them.

I bought UNE mascara (black), and I'm using it after tightening my belt and giving up the Estee Lauder mascara in exchage for a cheaper one. I am happy and the result is similar. Not to mention UNE advertised the use of natural ingredients in their products and no artificial colours, fragrances, parabens etc, which is pretty cool.

@MissEmbrya that's completely right, I have never understood why they do that. do they think we (consumers) are stupid? i use Great lash to by Maybelline or a french one called Bourgeois (1001 cils) and it works perfectly on me. No need to use false lashes.

I am one of those who has scoured the earth to find the right mascara, this was BWG= Before Watching Goss...and my fave since a few years is: Dior Backstage Blackout Masacara.Few months ago I succumbed to buying MAC Haute& Naughty, really not all that good compared to Dior.
