You should apply the one click lag fix, then run the Quadrant Standard app. You will see that the Captivate actually scores in the 1500 range and ranks number one. .

i have a question about the android market. Do all devices use the same store or are there different apps in each carriers android market? Like for example would the android market be exactly the same between this phone and say... the droid x?

@MrTheCODbeast no, some carriers have carrier specific billing/services apps and such tailored for that specific network. At&t takes it a step further and actually blocks certain apps from appearing (tethering apps for example). Your mileage depending on your carrier. For the most part though, the app store selection should be somewhat consistent across different carriers.

@tonyvang916 the lag fixes attempt to rewrite the filesystem on Galaxy S devices since Samsungs choice of filesystem causes the phone to experience bouts of lag and unresponsiveness.

@emuneee try the voodoo lag fix. that seems to be the best and most comprehensive lagfix (as it pretty much redoes the filesystem). dunno if it is supported on this ROM yet, but it may not be ROM specific. would love to see performance (and I/O test in quadrant) improvements with that.

This is a leaked build. This is not final because your score is what the epic already does out the box. So when you get an official build I would expect it to be just as high. Leaked builds are not always what the final will be.

@shravanster no it will not video out through the micro USB. You can mirror the phone by buying the 3.5mm to composite video cable which plugs in the headphone jack and mirrors on to any video device.

Hey man, I dunno if you found out about this after you filmed. But I was playin around and ound out that when you're in a call and you go back to the homescreen, the notification bar up top glows green. Pretty slick touch that they added.

I agree, that quadrant score is far too low considering the raw power of the Hummingbird processor. I'm interested in seeing notable improvements when the final Froyo build is released for the Epic 4G. Truth be told, I expect the Epic to honestly blow the other phones out of the water with Froyo.

@reddevil100 If i remember correctly you have to be rooted to apply OCLF anyway. I usually get 2100 or so with my captivate when I benchmark it with quadrant. I emailed RyanZA who made OCLF and he said that it will work with 2.2 but it is harder to root 2.2. I personally cant wait to have both going.
