@jeepcj5118 Send it over dude... ha ha - Those bulbs are like "Hens Teeth" over here in England, they just don't seem to exist, and if they do they are really expensive and just not worth it.
Because of that fact, I ended up buying another Projector just so I could watch the reels of cine film that I had.
Hy , I have recently found such a projector, and of course was without a light bulb. I saw that a new light bulb its not worth, and I tried to find similar lights to use. The 3 'rd option was some noname light bulb, on 12 Volts and 100 Watt. Which I managed to glue it there. The problem was with the power. I managed to insert a computer power supply inside the projector which powers up the spot. It works fine now, so if you want to fire the old projector up you can do it this way.
Hi thank you very much for the information, that sounds like a very good idea...!!! I have since been on ebay and bought another projector to play my films on. Maybe one day I may come across a lamp for this one. Thanks for watching and providing very useful information. Thanks :-)
Paul, I have a projector in storage thas in working condition but it may be a differant model if I can find it I will let you know what bulb it ises But it might be a super 8 Good video 5*
Thanks Walter, but dont worry about that now. I did manage to find out of someone else what bulbs it most likely used and they were around £90 for three. It's too expensive and the bulbs are quite rare Im told, I simply bought another projector from ebay for £25 which works brilliantly... Thanks for watching and offering to help out Good on you.
Hi - I have three of these projectors. They are the finest quality projectors of the time. The build quality speaks for itself - the main cost as you have found out is the horrendous price of bulbs! I recall how my late father used to have to be very quick indeed dropping the shutter when the film occasionally jammed otherwise the bulb melted the film in seconds!
Getting more rare by the day - enjoy a piece of history. My old films has been put onto dvd - it will deteriorate even if not played.
My uncle said exactly the same thing about films melting. I haven't had this privilege because as you know the bulbs cost a packet, so I never did get to purchase one. Was easier and cheaper for me in the end to buy another projector from ebay and play the films that way. I found it great fun not being from this era, was all new to me. Thanks for watching. I did post my uncles films, just look at my channel for cine films, Walsall Wedding etc...
The lamp is the same as the Prinz. 8mm film is 16mm with perforation on each side. When developed it is split up the middle . In the camera it is in 16mm form it is first shot one way using 8mm of film then turned using the other side of the film so you have 8mm film. The perforation are not the same 8mm are bigger than super8... Gustindun
Thanks for the info. I have now bought a Prinz Magnon Cine Projector and posted a video. It was a cheaper option than buying a new lamp / bulb for the Bell and Howell Projector.
I use those projectors to project onto a screen and filmed the screen with a small digital camera and transfered to DVD the results have been as good as some professional conversion. When taken from the camera and worked on in say Roxio Vidiowave the results are better than new!! As for "Romance" leave the clatter on your recording or your narration and music of your choice.
I'd like to get it working to view my uncles films as intended. Having said that as we speak my films are being transfered to DVD. My goal is to try and get this Projector working again simply because it was my uncles, but I may look to buy another in working condition. Depends on what feed back I get from this video in the form of help or advice. DVD doesn't have the same romance as when the films are played back on a cine Projector. Silly I know but there you go.
good for you, merry christmas

Me too, It is running in a fashion. But without a lamp it's next to useless. It seems a bit jerky too for whatever reason.

Do you need it to work, or just view the film you have been given
