@cdnguyindubai They gave him what he asked for, & technically President Obama is required 'by law' to pay for anything he purchases; meaning that he can't allow others to show him special favors of a financial nature by virtue of the office he holds. If it were anyone else, the clerk would have made them pay. I would have loved to see him autograph the money. I'll bet the clerk would have taken it then. His secret service agents should have thought of that & suggested it.
