  • hi there can u connect korg triton le to ableton live 8 for eg hope u can help

  • I like FL studio but that is also great software

  • @Seven1Network Albeton surpasses FL studio. I use both.

  • @MidnyteChannel That sir depends on who you ask.

  • @Seven1Network If you ask someone who only uses FL studio they are only going to give you 1 answer. FL studio is good and can make professional music but you are limited to certain things that FL cannot do. Ableton is a very very powerful DAW. You can only have 4 sends in FL studio yet you can have unlimited in Ableton. Both achieve the same goal but Ableton makes it a lot easier with more power.

  • awesome

  • Thanks for making Ableton less scary for us n00bs

  • my Ableton Live teacher's name is JJ and he's the youngest in the world as an Ableton Live instructor! He used to live in the USA.

  • Can you do thee glitchy things live.

  • @jkjimmy yep, obviously with ableton and not the sax :)

  • Crazy stuff! I was wondering if you had any videos on your channel on how to create the effect you are using at 0:33 (and all over the video). I've watched a lot of your videos and haven't come across it.

Thanks, and once again, props on this performance!

  • @JonahFreedMusic check the smart knob tut and at 33 exatly its a beat repeat and redux

  • Awesome display of tool innovation, but the progression and linear lines just aren't interesting. I respect your grasp of technological manipulation though.

  • Pure inspiration man! whats the keyboard you are using!? I just got a novation impulse 61! ;)

  • What are the 8 faders mapped to on your keyboard? I love this.

  • nevermind, I found your videos on smartknobs, fx racks, controllerism w/ sugarbytes artillery. Subscribed!! Thx for these vids :]

  • This kid is Freakin' : : RAW : :

  • @riseup20twelve WOW sax my glitch up !!!!! wow omg wow !!!! @Vespers Thx so much !

  • Need for Vocals :) great job

  • Damn dude... tight!!!

  • Thanks for the clarity and insight of your Ableton/Max for Live videos. I'm on the verge of buying and am trying to school myself in its possibilities. One question: is it possible to set parameters within Ableton/Max that are dependent on the notes(frequencies) you are playing through the instrument? For example, could you build a device that would apply Delay only to F#? The Ableton/Max system would interpret the incoming signal as F# and treat it accordingly.

    Thanks for your attention.

  • did you actually play the sax... it kinda looked like you were faking it...

    regardless tho...kool work...

  • Jesus Fuck!

  • damn dude.........props. that's sick.

  • shit

  • Great saxophonist btw !

  • that just got u the meanest subscribe lol great job

  • hey VESPERS what audio monitor's model are you using?

  • Comment removed

  • @OnASticky It was recorded live in one take. Then I glitched the video up in Ableton to get some of the repeat effects.

  • i <3 it

  • arrrrrr too glitchy.

  • Oh man, that was cool.:D Great video mate.

Can you please tell me how were you doing the intro thing with the faders man?? I have an axiom pro 49

  • @mudithead Audio effect rack with the faders MIDI mapped to macros. :)

  • Comment removed

  • I use Ableton 8 as well, and you sir, are a role model in the use of the program.

  • @Illitizen Cheers! Enjoy Ableton.

  • I love Live, he's a great trainer, but.. goodness, Vespers is such a queer sounding name.

  • hey dude what kinda Dell displays are you using?

  • @clastomania 21 inch wide screens.

  • disable info panel ))

  • The DJ is a troll. :P

    Kick ass work! ^_^

  • dude you missed a trick not calling it Sax my Glich up or is that too obvious ;) Brilliant production and playing though :)

  • @riseup20twelve That's actually what I was getting at...just a diff play on words. Cheers!

  • @riseup20twelve

    Like the Prodigy track.

  • Woa nice

  • lucky neighbors !

  • @intestellarknight That's what she said...

  • Beautiful :)

  • hey man, really nice work, thanks for sharing. Anyway digital wise nothing to say, it´s interessant (BTW what is your effects gear??). Tone wise on sax you sound a litle bit "classical" for my taste, to much bright without that punch you know... that´s probably you, your sax setup, or the mic or just me ho knows? nevertheless, you could use some harmonic minor and diminished hybrid scales here and there, they could add some different colors to the music. But keep it comming man =)

  • @dalmeidamusic Um, thank-you? I guess...lol.

  • Whoa.....stellar!!!!!!!

  • pure talent man

  • good sounds

  • This is dope!!! Greets from London, On. Keep up the awesome work & thanks for all the rad tuts as well. You definitely have yourself a subscriber here :)

This video made me curious if you've ever messed around with the EWI before? Seems like you'd have the skill to pull of some interesting things with that, methinks.. In any case the track and sax are killer!!! Also what sort of effect is that at 0:34 if you don't mind shedding some light. Thanks.

  • @SyN4G Thanks mate. EWI? Hellz yeah. Check out my EWI vids. Got lots of em too. Love the EWI.

  • This is dope!!! Greets from London, On. Keep up the awesome work and thanks for all the rad tutorials. You definitely have yourself a subscriber here :)

  • @SyN4G Thanks mate! I def have an EWI. You can see it in a lot of my other vids. The effect at 0:34 is a repitched simple delay messin with the unsyncd time.

  • I see no meaning he is blowin sax in the video. Either way he edited this recoding.

  • @genpatsusensei38 LOL. Of course the video's edited. It's all stuttered up in Ableton. However, that is live sax playing. Sometimes the video/audio sync can't get super exact.

  • i hope u don't use that huge midi controller at shows

  • @hotnovel God no. That thing weighs like 100 lbs. LOL.

  • Excellent !! my friend. Great work!! Thumbs up!!. G.

  • @guruofpiano Cheers. Thanks for watching!

  • ...AMAZING.

  • I had to come back to "favorite" this :) I love this video and I agree 100%

My first time "not giving a shit" was at 6 years old. I gave Rudolph a blue nose instead of a read nose :d Actually.. I will have to tell you the entire story to that sometime!

PS I LOVE BRIGHT COLOURS TOO!! :)

  • @lenarst Nice one! Blue nose eh? LOL.

  • @DJVespers OOPS I meant to comment this on your other video LOL It works.. :)

  • Awesome dude. Nice to see someone who's obviously from a musical background making glitch/bass. Too many idiots with a macbook out there! Are you going to release this track? I can't find it on your Cloud, hook me up?! Much love, dope music.

  • @jdotten Hey hey. I may release this one. It's far from done though. This was just a live jam session I recorded. If I finish it, it'll be posted up on my Soundcloud. Cheers!

  • Wow honestly Vespers. Holy shit =] that was fucking phenomenal hahah. Great performance you truly show how bright ableton can shine man. Fuckin awesome, and amazing bass sounds love it =] im jealous of your huge akai midi keyboard :P keep it up man, thanks for sharing.

  • @LucidSpore Cheers! Yeah, I play piano so having the MPK88 is a real joy. Thanks for watching.

  • Insane. You just can't beat the feeling of a live instrument. You just can't. If you wanna argue it, go to some other internet.

  • @DJLaszlo Agreed. I'm learning flute now too. Can't wait to get good with it.

  • Some people just make you sick!! Good work!

    ;-D

  • your awesome and i love all your videos i learn alot from you.

  • I didn't want that to stop!!

  • @myworldofsand Thanks for watching!

  • What are you using to mic up your sax?

  • @rotor9494 AMT-Roam-1 Elite

  • Jazzstep FTW

  • @realcoolking95 Boom! Indeed.

  • hey vespers i just wanted to know you computer specs if you don't mind like what processor you have and is it intel or amd

also do your computer have a soild state drive and is it quad core or dual core.

    thank you

  • @whoisflowfatal Mac Pro tower. 2 x Intel Quad Core Xeons, 8 gigs of RAM, 3 x 1TB Samsung Spin Point drives, UAD-2 DSP accel card. I really want a solid state operating drive. Will be buying soon!

  • @DJVespers damn that's a serious setup may setup intel sandy 2600k over clocked to 4.5 ghz with a Crucial RealSSD C300 CTFDDAC128MAG-1G1 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive but the next drive i will get will be the OCZ Vertex 3 Series – MAX IOPS Edition VTX3MI-25SAT3-120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) it the fastest sata 3 drive right now is 300.00 on newegg the first drive is very good to gos for 234.00. go on newegg.com and check them out :)

  • what sax is that?

  • @jdragon1012 Yamaha YAS-62 pro alto

  • sick video bro. just puked all over my hi-tecs.

  • @anewcleardawn LOL. Cheers.

  • SICK Vid, good job

  • You should put some of those Auralex Mopads things under your speakers, helps a ton

  • @mindphlux Thanks! I'm planning on getting some for sure.

  • You shoulda called this "Sax my glitch up" lol. Great vid!

  • Hi, id love to see a video explaining how you set this up. I have an apc40 and would love to setup up the faders like how you do in this video. Am i right in thinking this is more than just controlling the sends amounts as when you turn a fader all the way up there is none of the clean signal still coming through.Or all the effects just on the master channel in series and you are controlling the wet/dry on the individually? thanks in advance for any help! :)

  • Comment removed

  • @1000Errors it definitly sounds like a bunch of audio effects in a line on the master channel (highpass, reverb, crusher etc) then map the faders to wet/dry

  • @jeffsuperdj Indeed there are ;)

  • @1000Errors Not send amounts, but an audio effects rack with inserts. Watch all my vids cuz I already have ones explaining the whole setup ;) Cheers.

  • what MIDI keyboard is that?

  • @cptnswelly14 Akai MPK88 hammer action fully weighted. It doubles nicely as a bench press.

  • music reminds me of transport tycoon. haha

  • Where the fudge nuts do u get enough money to have that much gear?

  • @gumdrops27 I'm guessing saving ;)

  • @gumdrops27 I'm a world champion Hungry Hungry Hippos player and I use my tournament payoffs to fund my studio purchases.

  • @DJVespers LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • Great work as usual DJVespers! Nice Ableton Live effects you got mapped to your keyboard controller there mate :)

  • Great performance!

What do you use for recording/editing your in-computer shots? (the ones of ableton turning into virtual 3D it seems)

  • @Jonaitify Thanks! The software is Screenflow 2 for Mac. Cheers!

  • do you mod the pads on your mpk's? i just ordered a mpk25 and am planning on doing the mod as soon as i get it. from what i hear the pads are kind of shoddy without the mod.

i plan to cut a bike tube into cubes and put them under the pads. i know someone that did this and it works better than the kit you can buy online and its free..

  • @sml2238 Hey mate. I wouldn't recommend modding it. I find the pads to be perfect stock. Modding it you have more of a chance of messing something up and also voiding any warranty.

  • @DJVespers nah the mod is easy. im pretty handy when it comes to that stuff anyway. but yeah iv already looked up tutorials on it and its a very simple job. a 12 yr old could do it. but i guess ill have to be the judge of the pads.

  • @sml2238 I'm just curious why people do this? Are you playing drums live? Is the velocity response not enough? Have people not discovered the pad threshold parameter in Vyzex? I've used the MPD32 for a long time now and never felt the pads lacking in any way. Might just be my taste, but I like em.

  • @DJVespers i cant judge because i do not have my mpk yet. its shipping as we speak. but from videos i have watched the pads just dont seem sensitive for quick rhythms and such. check this blog out. watch the videos at the beginning and the one at the end. ill have to message it to you. wont let me post a link

  • @DJVespers yeah this is true. like i said when it gets here ill have to judge for myself. play with it for a week or so and then decide. lovin the vids tho man, keep it up. really diggin the glitch hop style dubstep with the sax. gives it a real musical feel instead of all the filth thats going around. not that i dont ejoy that too.

and ur from canada haha i was just watching the show trailer park boys based in canada :)

  • @sml2238 Yeah, I like adding in the more musical aspect with the sax. Glad you like it. Cheers!

  • Intro keeps getting better

  • @irvingdmotion Yeah, I keep getting bored with my old ones and redo them. Cheers!

  • love the thick sounds and how they don't get lost when you send effects. nice work

  • Finally you play whole sequences with the sax! My problem was always that you don't play enough, and the just glitch it...

    This one sounds awesome!

  • Nice !!!

    Прекрасно придуманно !!! )

  • Had my doubts how it would've sound before you started actually playing it - needless to say, I was blown away. Amazing combination!

  • I don't have anything constructive to say apart from - that sounds fucking awesome

  • Wow great vid! I have got a MPK 49 and I was wondering if you are gonna make a vid how you set everything up? because I wanna know how you trigger those clips with that blue APC style square around it.

I am sorry if my English is not correct but I hope you know what I mean.

  • Ok then, Glitch my Sax up! 2 has satisfied us from Glitch my Sax up! the original, but now has created an overwhelming anticipation for Glitch my Sax up! 3!!!

Excellent work Vespers! I hope u realize how much of an Intuitive Inspiration you are!

    Pce-

  • Great saxing!!! I want that AKAI !!!! and I'm desperately awaiting for Live 9 XD... Keep it up!!!

  • Thats really sick! You are making impressing stuff there!!

    Want more =D

  • wow, this is so awesome!never heard such a thing. would love to know how you did the woble parts.

  • really really cool performance !! what has you programm on sliders(on beats)? it this some kind of beat repeat\reverse effect?

  • Please do more performance vids. They're my favourite!

  • @djredlink Thanks for watching!

  • veryo coolio

  • SAXAMOPHONE

  • dude, you could totally do soundtracks for movies.

  • @mab1ro That would be sweet. Actually making money from music ;) Bring it on!

  • really nice. The sax sets you apart from other dance music DJs. I always find the combination of classical music instruments and electronic sounds very interesting.

BTW, do you have a preferred list of effects (like flanger, bit crusher etc.) you use on most of your tracks or do you vary a lot and/or try new stuff each time?

  • @Xo1ot1 Cheers. I love fusion stuff of live instruments for sure. For effects I heavily use Sugarbytes Artillery and several custom racks in Audio Effect Racks in Live. I use Redux, Erosion, Reverb, Frequency Shifter, Simple Delay, Autofilter and Grain Delay a lot.

  • quality!±!

  • @thisISdjkaz Glad you dig it.

  • awesome !

Question : what track is shown in the abletonscreen ?

  • @DJaRiENai Thanks mate. The track is one of my unreleased original pieces. Not done yet, but was just messing with some sax in a jam session and shot the vid.

  • wow not bad not bad _ as usual

  • ill sax

  • more vids like this!

  • Bliss

  • This is dope. You're a HUGE inspiration to me.

  • wow interesting stuff!

  • Great job Vespers! Amazing vid and tune.

  • excellent stuff!! i love it :-)
