  • i've also seen 3 or 4 versions live and this is also IMO the best

  • I was at this show!!

  • haha damn i kept wishing you wouldnt stop singing at the end, dont know if i should say perfect or too much echo and reverb, but it works! great job man!!

  • The end is power! Loved the energy, sustain and echo he used on the chorus; the end especially!!!

  • Dang!! That man meant business! Its a pity that its so treble-y. Would of loved to hear his voice that bit more but I am sure if it wasn't recorded with a camcorder mic it'd sound that bit better. Neato.

  • Probably just as good as the original. I wasn't even born in the eighties (nineties kid, hehe) but this is awesome. I wish I could sing this good!

  • This guy is fantastic, but man that's gotta be kind of hard on the vocal chords.

  • That was pretty tight, Not as good as toto's of course, still sounded cool, I would definetly play bass for this guy, if He was in ontari. >.>

  • not nearly as good as toto's

    but pretty amazing.

  • better than Toto version

  • agreed

  • holy god that sent shivers down my spine

  • excellent,,,

    best regards ..

    from phillipines..

  • I've seen a number of performances in which he has covered this song, and I have to say that this is the best of the bunch. He jokes around a little, but clearly puts real effort into the song. It's ironic, actually, as this was when he wasn't a big name... now that he is, he seems content to simply ride the fame.

    Regardless... excellent performance.

  • I know he played this as a light hearted jokey kinda thing, but he should totally record this. he kicks Toto's ass. lol

I wanna hear him sing more like this on his CD's and less "Collide" style ballads.

    I get bored easily

this Howie is far from boring!

  • "he kicks Toto's ass"

    fuck not!

  • This is the cover song that started his fame...and people were only downloading it! You couldn't even buy it. Love it! Amazing cover.

  • I miss the old Howie, watching the one man band on stage work his magic was incredible.

He would sing without a care in the world and his music would scream out from his heart.

    Thx for posting this.

  • i agree with tehgrizzlay, best rendition of this song. i work for his parents at their resturant, know him personally. very good guy not as bad as the media and others try to make him out too.

  • His voice in this performance just blows my mind... Such an amazing sound.

  • holy schmolly he's freakin awesome.

i like this song even more now.

  • Wow!

Best rendition of that song. Ever.

  • I pride myself on having a fairly decent singing voice, but I can't hold a candle to Howie Day when he sings like that. This is the kind of energy and passion that is lacking from a lot of music these days... replaced with cRAP and pitiful 'pop-punk' shit...

  • totally!!!

hes sings with emotions, thats sexy.

  • i can't believe this only has 1,195 views..

  • i was at this show, my cousins band Pawn Unction(at the time, now known as The Everyday Visuals)opened up for howie. weird
