The pagan emperor named Christianity the state religion and thus hijacked it. There has always been a remnant of the true faith even though the papacy tried to stamp it out by burning and beheading. Martin Luther was just one of MANY who was giving the true Chursh back her identity.

@tcorris - Ultimately, it was God who decided what books belonged in the biblical canon. A book of Scripture belonged in the canon from the moment God inspired its writing. It was simply a matter of God’s convincing His human followers which books should be included in the Bible. God is faithful to preserve His word. There is no divine table of contents. There were many other books at the time that did not get included. Luther thought the book of James along with a half dozen other NT books (that did not support his theology) did not belong. Was he inspired by the Holy Spirit, or was he trying to make his own bible?
I guess you are not getting the gist of this statement. GOD is not subordinate to man's desires. The convincing is more like GOD convincing Jonah to do His will. The Roman Catholic denomination added several books which was codified in the Council of Trent (16th century). They added these books 1500+ years later to substantiate their doctrines; primarily Purgatory. These pre-AD writings were never in the canon of Judaism.

Than I suppose the Greek Jews who read from the Septuagint were not Jews? Recent (1940s) findings of the Dead Sea Scrolls show a pre-Septuagint Old Testament in Hebrew with all the 7 disputed books intermixed with the other books of the OT. Almost all of Christ's OT quotes in the New Testament come from the Septuagint, showing he read from the Septuagint and not the Hebrew OT.
@tcorris - You know quite well I was speaking of the book of Judaism - the Tanakh. The apocryphal books were not accepted as Canon. Yes, the Apostles did speak and write Greek, and they would have used the Greek Septuagint. But you have no proof or reference you can point to that shows these apocryphal books were considered canonical by either Judaism, Jesus, or the writers of the New Testament. They have some historical value such as Eusebius, Josephus, or Philo. Please stop posting here.
Martin Luther pocessed a doctorate in Catholic theology. He was steeped in popery, however GOD used him to start the exodus out of Romanism. Not once did I ever say Martin Luther had all the answers. Listen to this: Luther only started the process. Luther still had the taint of popery, but he had the Holy Spirit deternination to stand up to antichrist. Thus we have many denominations, because each church cast out more and more apostate teachings.

@06mgittin - That's not true. The pope did away with "limbo". That is a place where unbaptized infants go if they die. A half-way house. But for sure, purgatory is still a mandatory doctrine. It was upheld in Vatican 2, and put in the new catachism published in 1994 (English, authored by Ratzinger). Indulgences are still in effect. Matter of fact, it was one of the only anathemas that came out of the most recent council. It is mandatory for a Catholic to believe this.

Infants are bound for heaven because they have not reached an age of accountability. My question then is this, why continue infant baptism? The Bible says clearly, repent and then be baptized. The repentance must take place first. An age of accountability must be reached first, then baptized. Infant baptism does nothing.
@ChrisDaron - The Christian Church was the first Christian Church. In the 4th century, the Christian Church was hijacked by political powers. Paganism was given a "Christian" veneer. The pagan temples, statues, and practices were given new christian-sounding names. Conversion was not by Holy Spirit conviction, but because what was popular. @bibleortraditions Well said. If we want to see the difference between Catholicism and Christianity we can look at the writings of the early Gnostic Christians. Jesus taught them to follow the holy spirit and rise above this world. The Catholic doctrine tries to tie us down in obedience to them.
@bibleortraditions Sorry, but the Jehova's Witnesses are NOT a cult. I studied with a congregation of witnesses for a year, and came to admire them. They are a straight forward bunch of people, who worship GOD, not Jesus, and do not consider Mary to be holy or special. The witnesses know more about the Bible, and use it more efficiently than any group I've ever accounted. They are decent people, who don't smoke or drink, or disobey the law.

John defines one identifyer of an antichrist, "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? @zeustruth - We have the Hebrew name, "Yeshua". But of course, the NT was written in Greek. "Christ" isn't found either; it is "Christos". Jehovah, Peter, dinosaur, Passover, Trinity, and there are many, many more examples of words "not found in the original Greek language. The first time "Jesus" is used in the Bible is in the New Testament.. Greek, not Hebrew or Aramaic (Matt 1).

The Lord is defined as "Jesus of Nazareth" in vs 22. Does this mean we must call out "ho Nazoraios Iesous" to be saved?

@vudumojo - Modern Bible versions have been changed to go along with doctrinal beliefs. In the KJV, the definite article (the) never preceeds "antichrist". The word "antichrist" is only found in the epistle of John, and in one case he writes "many antichrists" (1 Jn 2:18). The "man of sin" or "little horn" of Daniel is none other than the papacy.

I like your videos and I agree with you on many aspects. However, your lack of understanding of the current Roman Catholic church is disturbing. Having converted to Catholicism from Pentacostal, I once shared the same views about the church. However, we do not worship Mary, the angels or saints, Jesus Christ alone is the path to salvation, baptism is in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and no human in the church "forgives" sins. No institution run by man can be perfect.
I respectfully suggest you read and study the documents of Florence and Trent. Because in the beginning of Vatican Council 2, they reaffirmed all of it. At the end of Vatican 2, we get a lot of conciliatory and new-age verbiage yet the doctrines have not changed.
All they did was change the packaging. They are marketing it a little bit differently, but the core product inside is still an abomination in the sight of God.

This is so true. As a bible believing christian, saved by the grace of God, the falsehood of the Catholic church is so obvious to me. Protestants claim a lot more authority than the popes, who are slaves to Sacred Tradition (which they have no authority to change) and Sacred Scripture. The pagan emperor named Christianity the state religion and thus hijacked it. There has always been a remnant of the true faith even though the papacy tried to stamp it out by burning and beheading. Martin Luther was just one of MANY who was giving the true Chursh back her identity.

It was simply a matter of God’s convincing His human followers which books should be included in the Bible. God is faithful to preserve His word. There is no divine table of contents. There were many other books at the time that did not get included. Luther thought the book of James along with a half dozen other NT books (that did not support his theology) did not belong. Was he inspired by the Holy Spirit, or was he trying to make his own bible?

I guess you are not getting the gist of this statement. GOD is not subordinate to man's desires. The convincing is more like GOD convincing Jonah to do His will. The Roman Catholic denomination added several books which was codified in the Council of Trent (16th century). They added these books 1500+ years later to substantiate their doctrines; primarily Purgatory. These pre-AD writings were never in the canon of Judaism.

Than I suppose the Greek Jews who read from the Septuagint were not Jews? Recent (1940s) findings of the Dead Sea Scrolls show a pre-Septuagint Old Testament in Hebrew with all the 7 disputed books intermixed with the other books of the OT. Almost all of Christ's OT quotes in the New Testament come from the Septuagint, showing he read from the Septuagint and not the Hebrew OT.

Yes, the Apostles did speak and write Greek, and they would have used the Greek Septuagint. But you have no proof or reference you can point to that shows these apocryphal books were considered canonical by either Judaism, Jesus, or the writers of the New Testament. They have some historical value such as Eusebius, Josephus, or Philo. Please stop posting here.

@06mgittin - That's not true. The pope did away with "limbo". That is a place where unbaptized infants go if they die. A half-way house. But for sure, purgatory is still a mandatory doctrine. It was upheld in Vatican 2, and put in the new catachism published in 1994 (English, authored by Ratzinger). Indulgences are still in effect. Matter of fact, it was one of the only anathemas that came out of the most recent council. It is mandatory for a Catholic to believe this.

@06mgittin - After centuries of demanding infants be baptized or risk being sent to hell, the pope changed the doctrine. They now say as Christians all along have taught. Infants are bound for heaven because they have not reached an age of accountability. My question then is this, why continue infant baptism? The Bible says clearly, repent and then be baptized. The repentance must take place first. An age of accountability must be reached first, then baptized. Infant baptism does nothing.

@ChrisDaron - The Christian Church was the first Christian Church. In the 4th century, the Christian Church was hijacked by political powers. Paganism was given a "Christian" veneer. The pagan temples, statues, and practices were given new christian-sounding names. Conversion was not by Holy Spirit conviction, but because what was popular. I was raised and privately schooled in Catholicism. I love Catholic people; it is the system that stands indicted by God's Word for teaching lies.

@bibleortraditions Well said. If we want to see the difference between Catholicism and Christianity we can look at the writings of the early Gnostic Christians. Jesus taught them to follow the holy spirit and rise above this world. The Catholic doctrine tries to tie us down in obedience to them.

@bibleortraditions Sorry, but the Jehova's Witnesses are NOT a cult. I studied with a congregation of witnesses for a year, and came to admire them. They are a straight forward bunch of people, who worship GOD, not Jesus, and do not consider Mary to be holy or special. The witnesses know more about the Bible, and use it more efficiently than any group I've ever accounted. They are decent people, who don't smoke or drink, or disobey the law.

@hookedontheoldstuff - To deny Christ, is to deny the only way of salvation. JWs believe Jesus rose in spirit only; they deny the physical ressurrection. They believe Jesus is Michael the archangel, and once Jesus went back to heaven, he retook the name. Are we to be baptized in the name of the Father, Michael the archangel, and an impersonal force? The problem with dealing with JWs is that they do not believe in sola scriptura. I know lots of "good" people destined for hell. It's sad.

John defines one identifyer of an antichrist, "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son." 1 Jn 2:22 Remember, in the KJV, there is no definite article (the) before "antichrist".

@zeustruth - We have the Hebrew name, "Yeshua". But of course, the NT was written in Greek. "Christ" isn't found either; it is "Christos". Jehovah, Peter, dinosaur, Passover, Trinity, and there are many, many more examples of words "not found in the original Greek language. The first time "Jesus" is used in the Bible is in the New Testament.. Greek, not Hebrew or Aramaic (Matt 1).

In order to be saved, do we need to speak Greek? Do we need to use the Greek converted into old Hebrew? In Acts 2, we read how we must call on the name of the Lord to be saved (vs 21). The Lord is defined as "Jesus of Nazareth" in vs 22. Does this mean we must call out "ho Nazoraios Iesous" to be saved?

@vudumojo - Modern Bible versions have been changed to go along with doctrinal beliefs. In the KJV, the definite article (the) never preceeds "antichrist". The word "antichrist" is only found in the epistle of John, and in one case he writes "many antichrists" (1 Jn 2:18). The "man of sin" or "little horn" of Daniel is none other than the papacy.

If anyone Catholic or otherwise can show us what other institution besides the RCC through history that fits the Rev 17 & 18, the Great Whore etc. please show us. Dave Hunt has shown no less than 14 instances that point to the Vatican.....I have yet to hear any and I have been studying this since the early 70's. i like the video. leaves a question in my mind. the pouring out of wine is a representation of taking what is devoted of God and using doctrinal sounding literature and other symbols to mask their perversions. he uses what the catholic church has done with Mary. yes i agree, but can anything in our culture and around the world be a larger and impactful example of this? mmmmmaybe oh i dunno...christmas?

I like your videos and I agree with you on many aspects. However, your lack of understanding of the current Roman Catholic church is disturbing. Having converted to Catholicism from Pentacostal, I once shared the same views about the church. However, we do not worship Mary, the angels or saints, Jesus Christ alone is the path to salvation, baptism is in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and no human in the church "forgives" sins. No institution run by man can be perfect.

I respectfully suggest you read and study the documents of Florence and Trent. Because in the beginning of Vatican Council 2, they reaffirmed all of it. At the end of Vatican 2, we get a lot of conciliatory and new-age verbiage yet the doctrines have not changed.
All they did was change the packaging. They are marketing it a little bit differently, but the core product inside is still an abomination in the sight of God.

I for one am somewhat amused when I Roman Catholics accused critics of not understanding RCC theology and then it turns out that the opposite is true. I have found that most RCC lay people don't even have a basic knowledge of the scriptures. The arguments for the Papacy,RCC Priesthood,veneration of Mary etc.are not Biblical. There is no other entity in history other than the RCC that fits Rve 17 & 18 etc..if not show us.Shalom

This is so true. As a bible believing christian, saved by the grace of God, the falsehood of the Catholic church is so obvious to me. Yet I have friends who claim to be born again christians who have gone over to the RC church. They are being deceived. This whole system of papacy, idolotry, Mary worship etc is of the antichrist. Quite simple, (By faith) those who follow the Bible are following the true path, those who don't (Church of England & RC) are leading a false life. I was brought up an RC, but after meeting a Free Church of Scotland minister, I was shown the errors of the catholic (and latterly the COE)way. The bible has to be taken as the word of God and be followed otherwise it is meaningless. Purgatory? Worship/idolatory of the Virgin Mary? Pro Sodomite COE bishops - clearly contrast with biblical teachings.
