If you look closely, Rivers threw his pick towards Matt, by accident, on the last chord he strummed.

Hmm, I still think it's a guitar pick because you see him strumming with a one before the last chord and then you see his hand open with no pick in it when he looks towards matt. And then matt hands him something, and its kind of hard to tell what it is, but then he sticks it in the edge of his pickguard it looks like (which is where a lot of guitarists keep extra picks). And I'm pretty sure Weezer doesnt have any capoed songs, or at least back then anyways haha. But I'm not 100% sure.
