If you think those are impressive, especially the one you said was "better than an M80", you've obviously never seen a real M80. And you probably haven't, since they've been illegal in the US since before you were born. Anything sold today labelled "M-anything" is _not_ an M80 and has no more gunpowder than an ordinary firecracker. The rest is just padding, which actually weakens the explosion.

@jmmahony I'm 53 and I've seen REAL M80s, back in the sixties. They had waterproof fuses, so they were good for all sort of serious fun. Before the M80 there was an even bigger one called the Silver Salute. It would blow your hand clean off. Now THAT'S a firecracker!

Why not hold it while lighting it, its a lot easier. Then just toss it. I can tell you were raised in the USA, because you're scared of lighting fireworks. Kids in the USA are brought up fearing matches and knives, even monkey bars and all kinds of fun things. Ha ha ha. They have to put padding on the play ground cause they could get hurt! Ha ha ha. Technically, an M-80 would give you a louder bang due to its smaller, more compressed, size. The M-900, M-1000, M-3000, 9000, etc. is really just a fakely named rip-off version a M-80 - larger casing but same amount of powder. Now if you want some real bang, light a silver salute or better yet, a quarter stick.
