I enjoyed seeing/reading about the RNLI. Here in the US I had never heard of them. The fact that it is a charitable enterprise is remarkable. The closest we come to such a rescue function is the US Coast Guard, a branch of the military - but a well-liked one, as they are not in the habit of shooting people.

I had a similar thing when i was working at camp in america this summer, to when you experienced rescuing that boat. The difference is, when one of our boats died in the middle of the lake, we couldn't use the other boat to tow it back cuz the other boat had also died! So me and another person jumped in a kayak and had to manually paddle the boat about 200m back to shore!! woooop o_O lol
