  • Its wonderful that u got the actors because of whom u r nominated as the best director winning oscar award but do u ever think danny, of those kids who were the actors in ur film are living the life close to the standard that is shown in the film. wanna ask this question to Mr. Olson the producer of the film, what did u do for those kids who gave u millions of dollars?

  • Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart!!!!??? My brain is gonna explode!!!

  • Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart! ^_^

  • 127 hours is better.

  • @starcraft108 They are 2 VERY different movies!

  • what a genius

  • @MyBleedingRoses19 this movie is based on a novel written by an indian writer "VIKAS SWAROOP"

  • Do film directors wake up screaming "Cut! Cuuuut!!!" when they have nightmares?

  • 28 months later please ! :O

  • this man made 28 weeks later... he made my dad unable 2 sleep for 2 weeks. and he is tough!

  • @CamelOnDirtBike he didn't make that one.

  • @CamelOnDirtBike He make 28 days later

  • @adambarker96 sorry i meant that one :)

  • @CamelOnDirtBike Yeah it is a awesome film and it is all filmed on a Canon XL1 digital video camera

  • captain..luc picard

  • <3 I LOVE DANNY BOYLE! <3

  • congrats Danny on directing arguably one of the greatest films ever made

  • Thank you, Mr. Boyle

  • great director Danny

  • The bit where Sir Ian says 'Danny Boyle' is pure magic

  • @Spiceadder Everything that Sir Ian says is pure magic :)

  • Well Deserved...........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • his SON in this vid is in my fuckin class and i didnt suspect a thing until this video

  • It's alright, no one knew lol. I was just as surprised. Gotta hand it to him for not telling anyone and trying to achieve something under his own name rather than his father's.

  • your so wrong, flyingmango pretty much explained the just of it

  • love him!he's my fav director:)

  • Thats like saying Spielberg exploited the suffering of Jews in Schindler's List.

  • 1) How could anyone tell a story based around poverty without somebody like you saying that?

    2) How many Americans do you think knew anything about slums in India before this film was made? One wonders, for instance, how much charitable donations must have risen by.

  • its not like you knew before that video

  • Britain is a little less integrated with Europe than the likes of Germany or France, but has a very strong relationship with Asia and Australasia, so yes, I had some idea. I hope you're one of the 20% of US citizens who actually hold a passport!

  • nope

  • Is Christian Slater chewing gum!? O_/\o

  • This man is a hero.

  • i almost cried when he said 'i love you dad' it was the best moment of the whole evening that boy has guts.

  • It was so touching.... :)

  • powerfull movie .. love it .....

  • Why?

  • Why do you need drugs if you love your dad?

  • Wow, great speech.

  • JUSTIFY GUYS???

Rubina Ali and Azharuddin Ismail, who played Latika and Salim in the early scenes of the slumdog film, received $725 (£500) and $2,465 (£1,700) respectively for their work.

  • Yeah. I got the impression some of the actors' salaries were disgraceful when spokespeople for the film did not release any figures, but said their pay was 3 times that of the average pay for an adult in the Mumbai area. For all we know that could be $2.

  • that is so unfair. poor children, i think that they deserve more than that, because they are the most significant, touching and essential part of this film. It owes these children all the Awards it won.

  • Actually, the film people set up a fund for all the child actors who live in the slums, and put them into schools so that they can get an education. When they've finished school they can access all the money. I think that's a lot better than just throwing some cheques at them.

  • Christopher Nolan.

  • danny is the luckiest guy on the planet for the moment. came to india with a novel, and with his right and left hands( the screenplayist and the editor), used his legs (the asst. director in india), acting hopes from (dev patel), his eyes the music(ar rahman) and finally the heart the MUMBAITES

've to mention:anil kapoor, frieda, the kids and not the DANNY BOYLE.... HE ROCKED

  • I'm going crazy... who's the girl sitting next to Danny Boyle?! The red head with blond streaks in her bangs....??

  • Danny Boyle is probably my second favorite director only to Martin Scorcese, and 28 days later is IMO the greatest horror movie of the past decade, lol and a little observation, he looks sorta like an old Quentin Tarantino.

  • 28 days later? Really? that movie it's a copycat of Day of The Dead and Demons.

I guess you haven't seen lots of horror films. And to put Scorsese and Boyle on the same sentence it's abzurd, I guess you havent seen lots of films.

  • I have seen alot of films and i'm not comparing them, it's simply a matter of opinion and i love Danny Boyle's style, so relax. And i don't care if 28 days later is a copycat or not, pretty much every movie about zombies copies the last movie about zombies haha. So relax.

  • simply amazing! a must-see movie. it touched me deeply, beautiful music and beautifully set. it MUST win an Oscar!

  • Oh man, that was so sweet when his son got up and screamed "I LOVE YOU DAD!" :D

    Danny's a SHOE-IN for the Oscar!!!

  • You can see Howard Barker's VICTORY at the Arcola, London Mar 5 - Apr 5 starring Geraldine James! It's a great play - thanks Danny

  • I ADORE DANNY BOYLE!

  • great speech. But i wished he thanked ARR for the wonderful music he gave.

  • HonestIndiann:Yea me too...

  • SLUM DOG TOP MOVIE - SEEN IT 3 TIMES ..

  • Danny Boyle is such a great speaker, aside from being a great director.

  • he definately deserved this award. he did a great job. the movie is fantastic. I agree with the others- unique, powerful... made me cry at the end too. lol.

  • Slumdog Millionaire will win the OSCAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • which Oscar?

Unfortuatly there havent been any really powerhouse films this year (when i say powerhouse, i mean films like The Aviator, Ray, Mystic River, actor driven films)

this year i really want Frost/Nixon to win, but the board have a habit of putting in a low budget, talky film like The Good Shepard, Good Night, Good Luck..

It will be Sd Millionaire im sure, i just wish it were a more even playing field.

Cant wait for 2010, The Argentine, and Guerilla will win loads.

  • I haven't actually seen the movie yet but I really want to.

Plus that was a great speech.

  • See it! I saw it last night, inspired by the watching the Baftas and it was truly inpirational.

  • slumdog is amazing

    well deserved

  • just watched slumdog last night and it made me cry, true genius is the sum of the man

  • aww man 1:43 love his son

  • Love this guy. :D He definitely deserved this award.

  • I instantly fell in love with this film <3 It's so unique and powerful.

    It deserved everything :)

  • ps i thought it was very sweet when his son shouted 'i love you dad' during his speech :)

  • Great movie and great director!

but dont forget Trainspotting, best british movie ever!
