Its wonderful that u got the actors because of whom u r nominated as the best director winning oscar award but do u ever think danny, of those kids who were the actors in ur film are living the life close to the standard that is shown in the film. wanna ask this question to Mr. Olson the producer of the film, what did u do for those kids who gave u millions of dollars?
It's alright, no one knew lol. I was just as surprised. Gotta hand it to him for not telling anyone and trying to achieve something under his own name rather than his father's.
1) How could anyone tell a story based around poverty without somebody like you saying that?
2) How many Americans do you think knew anything about slums in India before this film was made? One wonders, for instance, how much charitable donations must have risen by.
Britain is a little less integrated with Europe than the likes of Germany or France, but has a very strong relationship with Asia and Australasia, so yes, I had some idea. I hope you're one of the 20% of US citizens who actually hold a passport!
Rubina Ali and Azharuddin Ismail, who played Latika and Salim in the early scenes of the slumdog film, received $725 (£500) and $2,465 (£1,700) respectively for their work.

Yeah. I got the impression some of the actors' salaries were disgraceful when spokespeople for the film did not release any figures, but said their pay was 3 times that of the average pay for an adult in the Mumbai area. For all we know that could be $2.
that is so unfair. poor children, i think that they deserve more than that, because they are the most significant, touching and essential part of this film. It owes these children all the Awards it won.
Actually, the film people set up a fund for all the child actors who live in the slums, and put them into schools so that they can get an education. When they've finished school they can access all the money. I think that's a lot better than just throwing some cheques at them.
danny is the luckiest guy on the planet for the moment. came to india with a novel, and with his right and left hands( the screenplayist and the editor), used his legs (the asst. director in india), acting hopes from (dev patel), his eyes the music(ar rahman) and finally the heart the MUMBAITES
've to mention:anil kapoor, frieda, the kids and not the DANNY BOYLE.... HE ROCKED
Danny Boyle is probably my second favorite director only to Martin Scorcese, and 28 days later is IMO the greatest horror movie of the past decade, lol and a little observation, he looks sorta like an old Quentin Tarantino.
I have seen alot of films and i'm not comparing them, it's simply a matter of opinion and i love Danny Boyle's style, so relax. And i don't care if 28 days later is a copycat or not, pretty much every movie about zombies copies the last movie about zombies haha. So relax.
he definately deserved this award. he did a great job. the movie is fantastic. I agree with the others- unique, powerful... made me cry at the end too. lol.
Unfortuatly there havent been any really powerhouse films this year (when i say powerhouse, i mean films like The Aviator, Ray, Mystic River, actor driven films)
this year i really want Frost/Nixon to win, but the board have a habit of putting in a low budget, talky film like The Good Shepard, Good Night, Good Luck..
It will be Sd Millionaire im sure, i just wish it were a more even playing field.
Cant wait for 2010, The Argentine, and Guerilla will win loads.

I guess you haven't seen lots of horror films. And to put Scorsese and Boyle on the same sentence it's abzurd, I guess you havent seen lots of films.
