You're right he probably should be playing for NSW. The origin rules are a little funny where its whichever state you played your first senior football. If you are like Inglis who was born and bred in one state but moved to the other in his late teens and played senior football their then you basically get to choose which state you want to play for. Sterling, Negus, Matt Rogers and Inglis are all guys who were born and bred in the state they play/ed against.
