hey anyone remember in classic the only map they gave you was the printed one that came in the box. lol. i think it added to the mystery of the game. you really had to explore to actually know where stuff was. i remember pulling it out and trying to use it so many times when i got lost.

No MMO before or since has been able to match the PvP greatness of this game. Other games are shinier and more polished. They're prettier and have more interesting PvE content, crafting, character customization options, etc etc. But not a single one of them has managed to surpass DAoC in the area of PvP. Nothing beats relic raids. Nothing beats taking keeps in the frontier. Nothing beats Darkness Falls when it switches.

Though were all playing on DAoC Uthgard Freeshard now simply because ToA and the other expansions broke the game

enjoy all the fun elements of DAoC without having to pay monthly fees and play though annoying ML,CL grinds

God I fucking love (d ) this game.

In no other game have I actually been a part of the community and made friends the way I did in DAoC, no other game I've played has had the appeal this game had, it had a life to it ... this is what made it great and it makes me sad as hell when I think about how a game like this will probably never exist again .. and if it does I'll probably never hear of it. A fucking special game and the nostalgic comments are a testament to it's greatness.

DAoC was the 'beginning'. Most likely every MMO, that was made until today, probably orientated itself on this game. It placed the requirements for all the MMO's that were to come, in the following years.

Everything in this game was, is and will always be epic and never forgotten...

DAoC was hands down the best MMO ever, if Mythic had just a bit sense they would totally port this game to a new engine and shine it up. I'd be right there on a classic server, instant, duking it out in RvR over some relic keeps, boosting the defenses to my guild's Keep in enemy territory while we ranked up realm points for upgrades. Great stuff, and PvE + PvR (RvR) worked so amazing well together.

wow. seriously this game is totally amazing! i liked the way it was near the beginning best. i remember i started at the age of 7. omg i was thrilled. i hope dark age rises up. it was BY FAR the best game ever made. and whoever disagrees go shoot yourself right now. just watching this vid gives me the chills and makes me want to go play right now. please mythic. man old daoc is better catacombs and up are not so much fun like when toa came out moe land to exploser what i think and artys where ppl have to go on to get there items not like now where u buy it.. i think old daoc to toa is better then it was back then.. DAOC RULES.. remake it onces again that all they need to do with out catacombs and up that all we what lol for some of us.. bring back old bg and other stuff.. 100/5 stars i give daocs

the biggest fault was to change this game. in the beginning it had has its best time, then it became more and more changed it became more and more mainstream with every single patch, the newest version is nearly the biggest shit ive seen.

btw: will there be a really classical server anytime with classical graphic, classical version of game, classical frontiers, classical bg's ?

The real problem for me with the Uthgard freeshard is that they have no plans to implement new class balance past 1.80, I want to play a smite cleric, but I won't do it without the buffs they got in 1.83, so after years of being gone, I'm reactivating live.

for everyone who is looking for classic servers - Uthgard on DaoC Portal (Freeshards) has been online for around 4 years, has a fantastic community, people help each other out a lot and there are about 270 people on at peak time every day... its completely classic, such a good feel, im loving it to bits there, had missed daoc so much!

Yes, i do... Thanks for the sarcastic comment! \o/ been playing on and off since day 3 of European release. The RvR zone is Agramon which is a carbon copy of old frontier with the milegates. There are no SI, ToA or other zones, no stat caps, no class changes since 1.80, all the old things which gave the game its charm. I'm enjoying every moment there

DAoC is in my opinion the greast MMO ever made, and will always be. It's a classic, played it since I was 11 years old (I'm now 17 turning 18). Tried all the others, but always ended back up with DAoC.

And oh yes, that music. So nostalgic =)

I still play, waiting for the new classic servers, without ToA, Cata, Laby and NF. Bring back the glory to this wonderfull game.
