I actually didn't find out about the finished expansion until recently. I might see if I could go around on that freeway next time I go through Augusta. Now since it has been expanded back to I-20, that freeway is no longer a spur route, and therefore defies the rule in which three-digits starting with 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9 are spur routes and ones starting with 2, 4, 6, or 8 are loop or freeway to freeway routes. If the DOT was so sensitive to that, than this highway would be renamed I-620 or I-420.

That's a very valid point. But to cut down on confusion, this is probably why SCDOT and GDOT didn't try to renumber the route.

Nice ride. I love Augusta Georgia. Spent a vacation there when I was a kid, the people there were very pleasant and friendly. I hope it hasn't changed, it was over 30 years ago, but I still remember it, what stuck in my mind was I had a brand new baseball glove and lost it, and somebody had found it and returned it to me days later. I thought I would never see it again. Still have that glove. A guy just walking by asked did anybody lose a glove? And sure enough it was my baseball glove.

great video. did u hear about the new super speeder law in ga if they catch anyone doing like 70 on a 2 lane road or 80 on 4 lane road then whatever the fine is they add another $200.

I did hear that. I usually keep it around 65 or less on rural two-lanes, and 80 or less on freeways/rural divided highways, anyway.

What I don't like about the law is the ambiguity of it. The monies are "intended" to go toward the trauma network, but are in the general fund and can be used for whatever.
