i was at the moonville tunnel on a sweltering HOT august afternoon and that tunnel has ICY cold air blowing through it in an un settling way... all of the wannabe satanic scrawlings everywhere do not help the ambiance of the place... i agree... its CREEPY there... smallpox plague in 1800s conductors were ordered to full steam ahead past moonville and the place turned into a ghost town... some of the old foundations are still standing... weird...
No wonder CSX abandoned the line, engineers got spooked while traveling part of the line, too many people got hit by trains while walking the tracks. it's a known fact. CSX reduced the line to secondary status in the mid 80's only to be abandoned in the late 80's. in '83 or '81 CSX erected a signal so engineers wouldn't be so spooked by ghosts, or unusual activity like that. the last death on those tracks was in '86 when a little girl got struck by a CSX locomotive while traveling the tracks.

Wow!!! I'm from Hillsboro, Ohio and my family takes a trip to Lake Hope a couple times a year just to get away. The Moonville Tunnel is one of our favorite spots to visit. This video is amazing! My mom is gonna love it!
