  • Your playing is beautiful, but your accompaniment track is way cheesy.

  • @Superphilipp

Thank you for your kind words concerning my playing. ;-)

  • Wonderful!

What kind of Hohner are you playing on?

Confusing...CX12 Hohner "and now I play on the CX12 JAZZ Hohner"

Which one are you playing on this video?

  • @mellez1

Thank you very much ! :-)

On this video, I play on a CX12 BLACK.

But, since august 2008, I play on CX12JAZZ that I really prefer, for the shape of the mouth-piece.

  • Hi Christian! Fantastic harmonica playing!!! Reti Zsolt! : )

  • @tootthielemans

    Thank very much toot.

  • what kind of harmonica do you use?

  • On that video it is : CX12 Hohner.

And now, I play on CX12JAZZ Hohner.

  • sounds nice

  • Thank you smartisz.

  • thats it, greate playing....

  • Thank you BBHRalle.

  • Mister, you can play! beautiful. Toots would love it! Kind regards!

  • Thank you for your VERY nice comment.

    CM.

  • this baby is just a gem. yes, that harmonica is just so mellow that it could sooth the savage beast and have him say, "um,say bartender let's have another round for me and my frends here.and give me the check and write down a 50% tip for yourself. we have a horse & buggy waiting for us outside. "

  • Thank you emrrbv.

  • so let me ask u harmonicaman: r u a professional musician because this can only be the work of a pro?? i mean , who r the greats: john lennon, stevie wonder bob dylan and this toots thielemans who i recently discovered.----AND THAT'S ALL SHE WROTE, U KNOW?? let me know and thx for brightening up a lousy week.

  • For me, the greatest chromatic harmonica jazz player is Claude Garden.

There are some videos, concerning him, in Youtube and Dailymotion.

  • dear jazzman: do u take requests?/ how bout new york state of mind??

  • I don't understand your questions, emrrbv ? Could you repeat them in other words ?

And... try to write correct english, not in SMS style, please. It will be much easier for me to understand.

    Than you.

  • Great job, I think Bluesette is on of the great melody's of all time. The sound of the harmonica has to be one of the most relaxing, calming sounds anywhere.

  • Thank you very much jamflu.

    CM.

  • Well could you give me the notes on a score please???

Private message it to me or whatever you feel like doing

    Funkpatrol11

  • The score can be found in the "Real Book" for jazz.

    Or perhaps on Internet...

  • Thanks, and one more question do you possibly have a tab for it plz????? Funkpatrol11

  • I never use tabs, only notes on scores.

    CM.

  • What make of chromatic harp you using?

I'm pretty sure your using a c chrom' but is it the key C????

Sorry for the dum question!!!! Funkpatrol11

  • For that video, I use a CX12.

All the chromatic harmonicas, that I use, are in the key C.

    CM.

  • WHAT ARE THESE PEOPLE SAYING??????

  • Try to use a translator...

  • Wow - unbelievably good! What a sound.

  • Thank you bobdavis12.

  • super beau!!

  • bon ben je me suis enfin décider, mon cx12 arrivera bientot ^^

  • Super !

  • Ca me fait plaisir !

    Merci McGueuze.

  • bonjour!

this is the best chromatic harmonica playing i never heard!

Chris has introduced your video to me.

    Christian.

  • Bonjour Christian,

Bluesette, It reminds me of "Toots Thielemans"

I am a great fan of Mr Toots.

    CM.

J'aime beaucoup ! Tu as du talent !

    CM.

  • I love your playing. Are you improvising from a chord sheet or the written music? As a newish jazz harmonica player I am trying to gain tips from marvellous players like yourself.

  • Thanks for your very nice comment Insomnight007.

I have improvised from a chord sheet and also a lot of by ear.

    CM.

  • Great Treatment

  • Thank you strathans !

  • Exelente

  • Thank you "gtepoxte".

  • What a beautiful treatment... phrasing, tone, originality. How I wish your arpeggios were written out. It seems like many people play it in Bb. The music I have is in G. No matter, I'll practice it in the key you and Toots play it. It falls better.

  • Thank you carl for your comment.

It doesn't matter in Bb or in G... It falls the same.

But in the "Real Book", it is written in Bb, so most people plays it in Bb.

  • supér :)

  • Thank you Kris.

  • I wonder if this is how Toots meant it to be played? It appeals to me, even though it's usually played 'Jazz-Waltz' tempo. I like it. *****

  • Thank you for your comment "Chordwayze".

  • I really like the way you play it, i never heard someone playing it the way you do. greetings from brussels

  • Thank you very much "McGueuze" for your very kind comment.

  • you're welcome

  • My favorite song, yessssss thank you !!

    You make me smile :-))

    good sound !!

  • Thank you very much for your comment "fafarajfa" !

  • very well!! great technique

    Greetings from Chile

  • Thank you "Ivillarroelv".

    Greetings from France.

  • I also like your rendition very much. Could you tell me which harmonica are you using? It's nice. Thank You!

  • Thank you for your comment doredorekorekore.

    I use CX12 Hohner.

  • Your rendition is so mesmerizing and played so beautifully that you had me in tears. It took me back to a more carefree time when I was 10 and fell in love with Bluesette/Toots. It played each Sunday morning (our radio was atop the fridge) while we shared hot crusty rolls from the bakery slathered in butter while awaiting our main meal of the day. Those were the days my friend . . . thank you for allowing me to be 10 again and revisit that wonderful time of my life.

  • Thank you for your very nice comment Beboppinnow !

  • You'd make Toots proud with your rendition of Bluesette. Ive heard Toots do a version of this classic whistling it as well.

  • Thank you for your comment UpperRegister !

  • great technique and feeling

  • Thank you michelmichielsen !

  • You nailed it!

I've been improvising the bass line for an electric (the recording I have features a upright/double bass) for this song, ever since I'd bought Toot's "Brasil Project," which was 7 years ago.

I've recorded my playing, multiple times, and can't help but screw up something.

    Seriously, good work!

  • Thank you Iconlan76 !

  • Excellent stuff, I always find Bluesettee difficult to improvise over, you do a great job here

  • Thank you very much MrPOObah.

You are right, to improvise on it is not easy. There are many tonality in it.

  • very cozy and sweet ++ you are the best player !

  • Thank you for your nice comment.

But, the "best" is too much excecive...
