want to know an even better cheaper method, just get a mop(toilet brush if that hole where the water goes down is small will also work) wrap a bin bag around it, and use it as a plunger, the mop with a bin bag acts as a giant plunger, so u dont even get ur hands dirty when doing it, and it only takes a minute or two depending on how big the blockage is, this method is just time and resource consuming

The easiest way is to let it soak with bleach or caustic soda for a while then pour a bucket of water from height into it. The force of water from 5 feet up usually does it.

Also, tie a broom handle to the plunger if you use one to keep yourself well away from splashes.

Those flexible springs are fucking useless.
