This made me cry. Great video, pointing out the awful consequences of illegal dump sites and that poor dog. Thank you on behalf of that dog and all others for helping her. This makes me feel good, to see it, to know there are others out there who can't look away and won't. Good for you. Bless that dog and you.

Oh my gosh, this makes me so mad. I would never do such a think to an animal. I want to rescue them when I grow up. I'm only 11, But thats just cruel! Glad you rescued her!!

Well done guys! I also have a little dog-tale with a happy ending, he's been with me for thirteen years now and still going strong. Psychologically he's never fully recovered and doesn't trust people, but it's not his fault. i hope your little guy is doing well too!

God bless you!!!. I myself am taking care of a stray cat at the moment. He has recently been ill so I have paid for his vetinary care and I make sure he has fresh food & water everyday. I can't bring him into the house as he fights with my cat but I have made him an amazing shelter in the out building. It is very rewarding to help defenceless animals and the world is a better place because of people like you and your husband...... Thank you xxx

That's my thought on abusers as well. Holley does act like she comes from a background where domestic violence may've been a problem, She's terrified of the vet. He's a large, but very gentle guy. She freaked when she saw him.lol She's doing great. She's one of the lucky few who got a new home.

She looked bigger than she really was when we first saw her at the dump. She's grown and filled out now that she gets plenty to eat. She's doing great!

Thank you, we're just animal lovers too and can't bear to see one suffer. Unfortunately, there're so many others like Holley out there that we can't help. It shouldn't be that way. No animal deserves to be abandoned, they need homes with families too.

People can be so disgusting. Your video is heartbreaking. Holley was so courageous to trust you. She's so tentative in her movements you know it took everything she had to give humans another chance. Thank God for you and your husband. Was that a little orange cat I also saw or were my eyes deceiving me?

Thanks for the kind words. Holley is great. She's smart, such a joy to have. I can't understand the way some people think. They're so disrespectful of animals and environment. The dump is still there, but Holley isn't!:)

Yes, that was "Shroder", a stray, sadly we haven't seen him in some time. We hope he's ok. We'd been feeding him, now he's disappeared.:(

That video was so awesome! You are so great for never losing patience and hope, and now Holley has the best home she could have ever wished for. She's so cute, what a face. That dump where she was living, I don't know what goes on in people's heads that they can just turn around and leave it (and the dog) like that. Pitiful.

The strange thing is: if anyone starts dropping trash somewhere, maybe some plastic bags full of it and some rusty cans, other people will walk by and think: "oh well, somebody has dropped his/her trash here, so I can do the same..." Most humans are herd-animals... too lazy to think and care... I´m glad there are exceptions to this rule. :)

I agree. Most people just don't care, unless it directly affects them. They're to busy being ignorant of environmental issues. I hope it can get cleaned up soon. You can bet these idiots won't do it down the road and continue to get away with it. That's federal land, and they will catch them!

I have such a hard time understanding how anyone could be so disrespectful of the very place they, and everyone else lives in. It makes me sick to my stomach. Holly is a beautiful puppy. I'm so glad to see she ended up in such a loving home.

Me either. There's no excuse for it. And, get this, there's a LEGAL landfill(where all of this could've been disposed of properly) just a few miles away.

We're sometimes more soft-hearted than need be. But in this case I think we did the right thing. We have 6 dogs that were rescued from similar situations. They definately know how lucky they are. I can tell by watching your animals, they too are very much loved!

But it´s great you saved that adorable puppy! :D She looks like a cross between german sheperd and Muensterlaender. Friends of mine have one. Since she´s still young, I bet she will fit in. But how did the resident dogs react? :)

It's sad to see people disrespect nature, animals and other's property. I don't know who owns this land, but they need to put a stop to the dumping. It's a real health concern.

Holley's doing great! She's not been introduced to the others yet. She's in quarantine for the next 5 days, just to be safe. I'll keep you updated!
