Fox News: We the people--except for you and you and you too and well not you either...wave the flag now... Excellent critique...thanks for this video...
@koorgen i think you need to read the ten commandments and realize that many of them have no bearing to a non-religious person (no gods before me, keep the sabbath, etc). the 3 that are law (murder, stealing, bearing false witness) are fine, but it isn't the 3 commandments, there are 7 that this country can do without...so why do we need all 10 in a courtroom where the bible supposedly holds no weight?
A true test to prove one's belief in a republic is to see if one cries for freedom and liberty and upholds his/her belief system as the guiding beacon of their country at the same time. If does such thing, they are unfit to call themselves "believers in freedom."
It matters not if you believe in Kali, God/Yahweh/Allah, Thor, or nothing. To allow any belief system to have domain over a republic erodes it in the end. To deny the atheists' rights to express themselves is anti-republican.
LOL, it's actually funny to watch religious fundies accuse others of being intolerant to their right to express their intolerance. Fucking idiotic bigots. XD
It is the Invalid and doltish who need their crutch to stand and not the cogent mind. It is these pathetic, feeble cowards, who cling to false hope and contrived gods to comfort and shield them from their fears imagined or real. Religious folks are the sewers of deceit. They infect the simple minded and gullible, to follow along with them as delusional slaves, for the will of their mythical masters from primitive cultures centuries past. They cry "please master make my wishes come true."
The bizzare thing is, when 'god' shows up, he acts like a mass murderer, floods, cites destroyed ect ect, if he shows his face again, I vote we have him up in front of a court, at least he will end up surrounded in prison by like minded individules.
why do they believe in someone who has managed to kill more humans than Hiter?
"The most holy Roman Church firmly believes, professes, and teaches that the Mosaic Law ... cannot be observed without the loss of eternal salvation ... Everyone, therefore, who observes circumcision and the Sabbath and the other requirements of the Law, the Church declares not in the least fit ... to participate in eternal salvation." -Infallible Teaching of the Catholic Church from the Council of Florence
@6:46 wait a minute, 2 minutes ago ur quoting the 1st amendment and free speech issue and now its not a free speech issue? u wanna go back over and figure out what ur talkin bout? thanks, I'd appreciate that douche :)
i have an idea, tear down all the fuckin public libraries and schools, and you can join a private library or go to a private school, with any stupid shit on the walls that you want...you want to be free of religion? stay out of religious establishments...you want to bathe yourself in religious mumbo jumbo? go for it! ....but dont you fuckers make me pay for any of it
@longfootbuddy cept I disagree wit tearing down the public libraries and schools. free access to information should b a right 2 all humans for everything from basic survival 2 getting rid of harmful superstitions and ideas.
@cruelbusiness1984 i disagree with you denying my rights to fund and participate in what you decide.. democracy is the majority forcing its will on the minority, by the gun of government...its time real freedom loving americans fight back
it it's a public library then it must be taken down. It disrespects a religion in a public place. The government can neither have or fund anything that holds n opinion about any religion.
As much as I agree with the poster, it's against constitutional law.
I understand why religions get the tax exemptions, though: They are retards. They have a handicap they impares their judgement. The painting was true, and that's why they get tax exemps, because the government feels pity about how fucking retarded they are.
"Indirect homage" is one of the funniest things I've heard in a long time. Apparently we are all in a constant state of homage to everything we are near. What a fucking moron.
Dear C0ct0pusPrime, If i were single i would seek you out and fornicate with you as much as humanly possible because i think you are a genius and you need to reproduce so that we may have more people with brains on this planet. Thank you for making this video!!
Remind me what the big deal with religion is, since it seems to me that Atheism is forcing itself just as hard on everyone as theism is? From where I'm sitting both sides are acting like a pack of idiots trying to prove and disprove this and that, or change how we run America... I thought when this country was founded, freedom of belief was how Americans were gonna live. Not all the founding fathers were Christian y'know. Or was that a lie?
oh yes religious people are being put to the back of the bus like under god in the pledge and god on the money, actually religious people are being put to the back of the bus because only the christians are getting this special treatment in america, but when he says religious people he just means christians which is incredibly stupid
omg, a piece of art that makes these people think! are these people so weak that they can't look at a piece of art? seriously! actually, i think the piece is funny because it's true.
Unfortunately, in today's day and age there are far too many Dadaist and Cubist influences. The artists merely wanted to go for a exoteric epater-les-bourgeois effect. I don't like the poor execution of skill either, but I do like its raison d’être.
Check out this site which has photos of Hitler with Catholic Church officials. Hitler invoked God in many of his speeches, with some of those quotes available at: nobeliefs
If Hitler was with the Catholic Church and God - then answer - why did he kill 1 in 5 Catholic Polish?! Wow - atheists are so stupid - and malevolant. Not only do they spread disgusting diseases - but the also spread lies. No wonder they are dying out. CATHOLIC STATE for me thanks :)
@amaqula OH, So you're a member of the Catholic Church, home of the pedophile priests, who abuse young children. As for why 1 in 5 Catholic Polish were killed, I suspect it had to due with their being of Jewish ancestry. Hitler used Christianity to justify his hatred of the Jews. Here's a quote by Hitler: "Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord."
@amaqula"Go up, my warriors, against the land of Merathaim and against the people of PekodPursue, kill, and completely destroy them, as I have commanded you," says the LORD. "Let the battle cry be heard in the land, a shout of great destruction".(Jeremiah 50:21-22 NLT)
"If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives." (Leviticus 20:13 NAB) You should not let a sorceress live.Exodus 22:17 NAB
@amaqula "What we must fight for is to safeguard the existence and the reproduction of our race...so that our people may mature for the fulfillment of the mission allotted it by the creator of the universe."
"The folkish-minded man, in particular, has the sacred duty, each in his own denomination, of making people stop just talking superficially of God's will, and actually fulfill God's will, and not let God's word be desecrated." - Hitler.
He used christians to carry out his deeds didn't he?
@atheistrage It's funny that you'd say that. Maybe this just me being a naive theist, but I think your disbelief in God should be impervious to what theists say... To say that religion is disease means that it effects you, and imho it shouldn't. But no, you've gotta pay attention to those idiotic extremists which empowers their bull$%#@...
@DemonicRemption Well, you're right, My disbelief is imprevious to what Theists might say. But religion is a "disease", and it does effect me. This video is a prime example. I'm sick of people trying to ram their "god" down my throat all the time in an free country. You know it happens all day long. Poeple can believe the world is flat if they want, but it has no place in the goverment, and they don't have the right to except everyone else to play along.
@atheistrage If your disbelief was impervious you wouldn't consider religion a disease nor would be bothered when someone tries to force it on you. I mean Hell, I'm bothered when someone tries to force the disbelief of God on me. If this is supposed to be a "free country" why aren't theists allowed to practice religion and atheists allowed to ignore it. This country is filled with hypocrites from both sides. It's rather annoying.
@DemonicRemption I disagree 100% buddy! I've never had an atheist come knocking on my door telling me what to believe. Atheists don't go around leaving fake $20 bills on the ground with religious propaganda on the back. When I rode through the park the other day some asshole with a PA system was yellling at me that this was my "last chance to accept jesus". If anything ,atheists are a minority trying to defend their rights.
@atheistrage Yes defending your rights, by removing ours... Christmas carols with Religious references sung in schools? Gone. A single line in the pledge? Currently being fought over, and the phrase "In God We Trust?" Gone. Bibles in libraries? You don't even read the Sh--, so why do you even care? You idiots won't allow Muslims build a mosque near ground zero. I can see how your "rights" are being "defended."
@DemonicRemption No, "we" aren't taking away your rights asshole. You can pray to bejebus a day long. You just can't force your religion on another people in a public (goverment) enviroment (like a school). I'm sure you know, the "under god" wasn't part of the original pledge and was inserted in 1954. I don't really obsess about that to much, but NO, actually you don't have the right to force other people to acknowledge you "god" or establish a connection between your religion and the goverment
@DemonicRemption I'm not allowing (or preventing) anyone to build a Mosque near "ground zero". If fact I"ve heard there are already dozens of christian chruches around that area. If someone has the proper permits they can build whatever they want on private property . It's inculding religion in the goverment I have a legitimate problem with.
Apparently you don't agree with seperation of church and state ? Or it just the seperation of your religion from the government that you don't like ?
@amaqula, I would not be so negative about atheists. Recent statistics revealed that 60% of Irish Catholics do NOT believe in the existence of God.
Now, it seems that you are disappointingly beyond reason and have made up your mind about how the world operates, but the fact that the Church is growing globally, does not mean that secular rationalism has no constructive place in it.
Visit a library and read up on your religion's history and you will find the vital atheist's role in your church.
And that is why Irish are going extinct - and Islam is the fastest growing religion there. How long can a nation of 4 ageing million stand against fast multiplying Islam and islamic immigration?! Not long. Atheists are takers - not givers. No atheists society can ever survive. CATHOLIC STATE for me please!!
@amaqula Only religious states based on lies can survive? Yeah, it's great for the people running the country, with all those idiot followers that would kill innocent people if their god says so.
yes....and Sweden is being over run by Muslims....cos the atheists are too barren....and prefer birthcontrol to children and marriage. Sad...but true. CATHOLIC STATE for me thanks!
@amaqula, Yes.. and the Catholic State of the City of the Vatican; exactly the job for you to be run over by! They do, however, have natural birth-control and no marriage... and children? Well... children in the 'care' of those who occupy the Vatican... hhmm, too barren. Sad... but true. CATHOLIC STATE for you? Sure you would!
The only reason why Christianoty growing is the brainwashing of poor people in Africa with evangelists coercion of them. Maybe it's because condoms are banned in religious countries...
@amaqula1) You are truly retarded. How can you try to rationalize anything Hitler did. He was a less-than-human being who wanted a world of tall blond/blue-eyed people. He was short with brown hair and brown eyes. 2) Nobody with any religious belief can call anyone stupid while they spout their guesses at people. At least have fact behind them. The Bible is not fact, it is a book. I could jizz "God was here" and if someone put it under a blue light and read it they would think it was holy.
For all who believe the Bible is the word of God, answer me this, Show me one word, just one word that was penned by your God in that book? Just one word? A Comma? Full-stop even? How can a piece of fucking art offend a God that had no fucking input into your damned fucked up fiction depicted in this Art work? In fact, fuck it, The bible SHOULD come with a warning along with the Torah, Qu'ran the fucking whold damned lot of them!!!!!
Philosophy is the search for truth! And truth cannot be changed by debate. I don't think atheists realise that. They search for freedom and 'paradise' - but they don't search for truth. In fact Christ (God Himself) said - the TRUTH will set you free. But atheists think differently. Hmmm.....now who is right and who is wrong. Sometimes it seems they even search for an escape from truth! CATHOLIC STATE for me please :)
I disagree with the painting's message. It's not the Bible that impairs judgment, it's the childhood indoctrination. On the Internet, I've learned that reading the Bible entirely is something that helps people to unlearn all the mysticism that they learned from their parents.
I wonder if these same people would have a problem with this if it was the Koran, not the Bible. My guess is that they would be supporting the library, the picture, the artist, and have the artist appear on Hannity, Beck, and Fox and Friends.
If you can't have stone tablets of the ten commandments in a public court house promoting religion then you probably shouldn't have a painting of a bible in a public library dissing religion. You make an excellent point on the Bible. Let's remove all Bibles from all public libraries. If someone really wants one, they can get one from any of the numerous evangelists out there.
At 5:02 did he really compare this to segregation? "[Christians] shouldn't be put on the back of the bus." What an asshole. Fucking persecution complex. Poking fun at you doesn't mean you're being persecuted. Denying rights to same sex couples; that's persecution.
EdensCancer gave you a good refrence. I never miss a COc0pus vid your good at sifting through the bullshit. Not ryin to brown nose I just like your style
That whole hand on the bible in court thing has really got to go. You shouldn't even have the choice because it's an immediate bias to the jury whether you do or don't. In the meantime, until we fix that huge problem, if you're ever sworn in, definitely swear on the bible. The jury will like you more.
Rupert Murdoch doesn't care about the bible; the only thing he cares about is money and trying to get in with the establishment crowd. He even has a place at Center Island near Mill Neck on Long Island. I wouldn't doubt it if he was trying to get into the Maidstone Club. Hiring proles like Glenn Beck (and fake proles like Bill O'Reilly, who claims to have had a tough childhood in spite of his well to do upbringing)... actually helps considering FOX news' primary demographic.
whoever did put up this painting only wanted their point of not agreeing to the religion to be seen... people may have the right to express themselves, but if you have to put it into the negativity towards others, then no, you cannot express something like that if its gunna offend ppl.. and y is it that the only time pl express themselves is when its something negative towards another party or religious group?
@Drinkinghotcoco Yeah actually you CAN its called freedom of speech.
Your last sentence is so dumb its hardly worth talking about, but Ill ask anyway, are you seriously saying no one ever expresses themselves except in negative ways towards other groups? Ever?
I mean really? Did you think that through before you posted it? Or did you mean something else?
@EmpiricalAlpha for your information i did mean something else.. before you comment my comment as being dumb, understand that i was saying that when it comes to people expressing themselves, you dont have to express how you feel when you know that it is targeting another group in a negative way... some things are best left unsaid or kept to yourself.... try not to make what i said like its soo complexed that you can pinpoint things within my answers.... doesnt work that way...
@Drinkinghotcoco Ahh I see! Where I went wrong was following the words.
Your sentence as you wrote it has only one meaning. If you mean something else thats cool, but don't get snippy because I can only go by what you write. I cant see in your head. k?
And everything you just gabbled out (why on earth has your command of English just declined so rapidly? drunk?) is not what you wrote to start with.
The last part from "try not...." ...no idea. I have no idea what "doesn't work that way".
@EmpiricalAlpha yep, i see your problem... you broke my sentences in pieces again as you tried to criticise them... but i guess your mind only goes half ass when you read comments, am i right? you read what you want to read and try to discover the rest, but anyways thats why you dont try to criticise ppl before a complete understanding of what ppl say... thats what i said doesnt work that way: the fact that you break up comments and analyze them one by one...
@EmpiricalAlpha or maybe for once it isnt other ppls fault that you cannot understand what they write... maybe its just your mind going half way at things... i can see that your problem is that you praise every word you write as the gospel... keep saying to yourself that your words are nothing but added on characters on a page and that you never give credit to other ppl about their views but yourself... im guessing correctly constructed sentences in your term means "dumb it down please?"
@Drinkinghotcoco Really this whole "Oh your misinterpreting my posts" is really just wriggle room. This post for example is hilarious. Because you just did what you have been accusing me of doing, reading things that are not there.
And no, it means correctly constructed sentences. Having half finished sentences followed by three dots is not correctly constructed sentences. I'm no grammar nazi and I make allowances for people who hold English as a second language.
@EmpiricalAlpha and because i add three dots at the end of my sentences is the only reason you cant understand english? oh my we have a problem then dont we? its a reflex, deal with it
@Drinkinghotcoco No its because you use three dots in leu of finishing a sentence. Whats more is that, for you, it signifies the start of a completely new and often unrelated sentence. Its like your thought being poured out. Thats not a good way to communicate.
@Drinkinghotcoco ...they have to be understandable, else we have no bases for communication as I'm sorry I only speak English and a few words of Japanese and German.
@EmpiricalAlpha well arent you an overachiever?well maybe you should get out of the foreign language books and come back to english because your understanding of it is starting to suck badly lol
@Drinkinghotcoco And yet.....its so weird, I can understand almost everyone else, even people who hold English as a second language. Thats so bizarre isn't it? I mean, your theory must be right but somehow, I just cant fit that facts to that theory. Still, who needs facts right?! ;)
The problem is (and Ive seen this a few times) the typical style of posting is from someone who thinks it will make them sound thoughtful, poetic and smart.
@EmpiricalAlpha i would have to disagree with that... unless you have the bravery to say any old thing without the worry of getting your ass kicked or maybe worse... but i see what road youre going... kinda risky... but just remember that your answer to this question is only an opinion ok? not the fact... many ppl still have opinions about freedom of speech, so dont praise your words...
@Drinkinghotcoco If we shy from freedom of speech because some people might get violence then we ends up back in the dark ages. Its really simply.
Thats whats great about the internet, because your right about the world, but on the net, people can no longer use their fists to make a point. They have to resort to using their brain.
@Drinkinghotcoco You're here with me too. So don't bother with that. if you want a flame war than let me know. Id mush rather actually debate with you but its your choice......
@EmpiricalAlpha ah... so your conversations with others is nothing but a battle field to you? a competition? so basically your purpose of talk is nothing but a meaningless fight, am i right? but il do you one better... ill be the bigger person by walking away and save you the immature fight tha you're waiting for. but of course thats your purpose in the world right? to feel like your words are key? nvm dont answer that... im not here to start a war....
@Drinkinghotcoco That´s a very stupid way of thinking. Eventually, even if you don´t want to, your opinios will offend somebody who is not agree with you. Will you shut up yourself even if you believe in what you say?
@ruy1981 no i would not, but like i said before, you can say whatever the heck you want nowadays, but in this kind of world, just be cautious about it...
This situation is just like the Christmas display fiascoes of the last few years. If the library allows art expressing one religious (or anti-religious) view, it has to allow any others that request some wall time. However, just like with the Christmas displays, the easiest course would be to just deny them all, instead.
That said, fuck these Fox hypocrites. There's zero doubt what their stance would be if that painting had said "May Contain Salvation" or some crap, and atheists wanted it down.
"not a free speech issue...isn't a public art fair...taxpayer supported...where individuals go for equal protection under the law, to seek justice...but they have to walk past something and pay indirect homage to something that insults them, and demeans them"
Sounds EXACTLY like a monument of the 10 commandments in a courthouse. I'm extremely offended by the false idea that we need special rules from god in order to be moral. I'm glad this hypocrite agrees with me, although he won't admit it.
So he brought in the tax dollars...Does this mean I should be able to choose what my taxes support? Because then I do not want to support anything religion related, and I do not mind my tax dollars going for the painting..
Don't worry atheists.. you'll get what you want eventually.. you won't see as much of the Bible and Christians will be fewer and fewer. You know why? The Bible says so. Read Matthew 24. Compare it to the rise of of false faiths and atheism. See what is happening. Please.
Or.... keep at it, keep up the hatred, keep up the persecutions, keep up the mocking GOD and His Holy Word.. because the more you do it, perhaps the sooner He will come. And I cannot wait until that day.
If you happen to read Matthew 24 and you DO see it, and all that is happening in the world around us.. I hope you take it a step further and read the Gospel of John and then even more. See mankind as it is. But then see the Good News thereafter our short lives here on earth all because of Jesus Christ our loving Lord. And ask Him, ask God if He is real and if He loves you. But be prepared for an answer if you are truly seeking Him.
@truthsetsyoufree777 You are the type of person that has had their judgment impaired by the bible. This video is about you, and others like you who are eagerly awaiting the destruction of our planet because you think there is a better life coming. If you are so sure of your afterlife, stop bothering atheists in this life.
@VesusSheist Destruction is coming whether we like it or not. Look at the dawn of history to the present; two world wars in the last 100 yrs alone! Do you see "mankind" making total peace with one another? (Without the rule of a Dictator of some kind?) (Which there'd still be rebellion. Think about it. War will always be until the end... Just as Jesus say..and partly because of our sinful nature. Please see Matthew 24, Daniel 7, The book of Revelation.
@VesusSheist The reason that Christians are "bothering" as you say, is that we know the truth now and God puts it in our hearts to share about HIM/His Love. He puts this love in our hearts to share; as it is written in His Word. Like I said, I was 31 yrs old before I knew the LORD. I only wish someone was "BOTHERING" me wayyy beforehand about the Gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord and who we are in Him. When/if you come to know Him before your death - you will feel the same way. Take care.
@EmpiricalAlpha 1) Yes I am persecuted, pls look up the meaning. I may not be in jail (or murdered/yet), but there are others who are. Only because of their faith in Jesus and sharing the Gospel. Check out Voice of the Martyrs & see more. 2) No I don't believe "in" Nostradamus. 3) I was never brainwashed, I was 31 yrs old when I came to Christ. 4) You may be right, He may take His time in hope that more believe in Him beforehand, but He WILL be coming. Can't say you weren't told.
@truthsetsyoufree777 1) Show me where you are persecuted by atheists,Also which country do you live in? If you live in Iran, then yes you could well be. If you live in the US or UK then no your not. But I await your examples of how you are persecuted for being a Christian. Or better (in line with your original claim) how atheists are persecuting Christians.
2) (see next part)
3) Never actually said you were. Learn2read and comprehend,
2. He makes the same generalized claims as the bible so why not? You claim the Bible foretold something by predicting something totally predictable and bordering on simple common sense and that makes it true.
Nostradamus also made generalized and easily predictable claims and therefore, but the same logic, must there for be true.
A guess is still a guess even if it happens to be right. Not proof of any divine foresight.
@EmpiricalAlpha - I understand where you are coming from, because you don't believe it. But have you ever even tried yet to study Bible Prophecy - really took a look at Matthew 24, and other things Jesus said will happen and in regard to Israel? (And align it right with what is going on right before our eyes?) LOOK at Israel, seriously man, more war is coming. Well, can only encourage you to try it - what do you have to lose? Take care, gotta go.
@truthsetsyoufree777 FFS. 7: "For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places."
Holy SHIT Your right. Fucking el! Jesus said there will be war disease and earthquakes,. How the fuck could he know that? WOW!
Can you not at all think of another explanation as to how he would know these things would happen? Not one? Serious?
He may as well have said "some shit will go down yo".
@EmpiricalAlpha ..Darn it.. quit replying, I have to go after this! ;) LOL
Dude..read the rest of it, man...read the rest of it and other Biblical prophecy also, there's much more than what you posted! also - "This gospel will be preached in all the world, and then the end will come."
If Jesus wasn't God and the Truth - how in tarnations could He have known His Word would be preached throughout the world as it is? The Bible (check wiki) is the best selling book EVER.
@truthsetsyoufree777 Then go! You don't have to reply, and unless your part of a suicide cult, you can reply later, I respond to most messages if you reply direct.
Ive read the whole of Mathew 24. Which you directed me to. Not reading the whole bible its rubbish.
However, Ill use the Dillahunty protocol:-
You say other parts of the bible has prophecy that prove divine foresight. So.....
Give me the BEST one. The most evident prophecy. Your choice. (When you get back)
@truthsetsyoufree777 And 10-14 is basically "everyone else stops believing this shit? You better keep belivin' it yo!".
People have this idea the 2000 years ago people were totally stupid compared to today. They were not. They may not have had the technology of today but their intelligence was the same, the same smart con-artists tricking the same dumb ready-to-believe-any-old-crap we have today.
@truthsetsyoufree777 Its not even falsifiable. Because it doesnt say WHEN this will happen. Which means it will not be proven wrong in perpetuity. Now thats something the Bible has over modern cults. Their mistake is "Oh the aliens iz coming July 17th, just after tea-time" and when they don't people are like "yuz lies". But the Bible written by smarter con-artists were careful not to include that (AFAIK)
@EmpiricalAlpha i dont think that saying that the bible was written by smarter con-artists is a good way to put it if you are referring to the ppl who actually did write the first bible before christ... we dont know what those ppl really witnessed unless you have a time machine to say otherwise... and things predicted by the bible only happen if you have ppl who solely live by it... ppl rather live by it than prove the revelation of the bible wrong...
It takes a lot to create a cult that lasts 2000 years. It has some great stuff in it to enforce belief. Not just "believe or suffer" but things about "God mysterious thats why he doesn't make sense" and "dont listen to people who have silly things like facts and evidence they are just the devil testing your faith if you listen you lose teh game. You dont wanna lose teh game do you?".
@EmpiricalAlpha and again... youre reading in to deep of what im saying.... the bottom line is, we werent there to experience what happened before christ, so you and i are not to judge... so who knows if what youre saying is the devil testing me really something that is factual? nobody knows, not even you...
@EmpiricalAlpha wow thats funny, because i diont remember saying anything about solely believing everything in the bible... did i? but anyways, i do read the bible, but i dont not take anything written inside of it literally as it seems like you claim i do...
@Drinkinghotcoco ....contrary to what we know about the working of the universe then we CAN dismiss it. In the same way as we dismiss leprechauns and other fictional creations.
For example. Even though we were not there we CAN prove that the flood was not real (as depicted in the bible). Apart from physical evidence that shows a world flood did not happen there is internal inconstancy of basic logic. There is inconstancy with reality.
@Drinkinghotcoco ...(3) We cannot just accept any old claim not matter how stupid on the bases of "Oh well I wasn't there". Then we have no way of telling what is real, and what is fake. You don't have to be somewhere to assess a claim's truth. Just as you don't have to be in my house to know there is no monster under my bed.
I do not intend to live my life based on a made up story which may be true because "I wasn't there". Thats a waste of my time.
@Drinkinghotcoco (4) And Most important. I Do not intend to have MY life or the lives of OTHER people controlled on the bases that "Oh well we cant say its not true, we were not there". No way.
@EmpiricalAlpha so you do believe that you can just dress up fact any way you can just because you werent there to witness it? and when you say fuck religion, do you still believe in god? and if not, then arent you becoming the true "athiest" that you despise so much?
@Drinkinghotcoco Um no. Thats the exact opposite of what I believe. What do you mean?
No i don't believe in god. Explain "true atheist" and....im sorry but whaaaaa? Are you confusing me with someone else....what makes you think I despise atheists?
@truthsetsyoufree777 And yes there will be more wars. (And earthquakes) you and your sci-fi book of magic dont get credit for stating the obvious. Soz.
Waiting for details of your persecution (especially by atheists)
As far as religion goes everyone's faith but one's own is "false". For instance, the natives didn't appreciate it when the pilgrims came over with their false sense of entitlement to the Natives' land, and being told that they were "immoral" and "immodest", as if being naked was somehow on par with theft? To the Muslim, Hindu, and Shinto you follow the false faith, and are thus considered an infidel (infidel is just another man made division) by such people.
The Sacramento Bee website reports the librarian flatly refused his request to remove the artwork until the show is over in Sept, but it DID sell for $500.
I know! We'll make it "free speech equal" by showing the painting alongside a 'religious' ['xtian'] one. I think NOM's latest sign saying 'The Solution for Gay Marriage' alongside 2 nooses is just perfect!!!
Leave it to Fox News to get senior citizens across the country bitching about "The Good ole Days" by interviewing a Christian who's bawwwwwing about a constitutionally protected piece of art and with no opposing viewpoint to create an actual dialog.
as funny as this is he's right. but for different reasons. it should be removed because its a government building and they shouldn't be able to discriminate against anyone. if its anti black to antihomosexual the government shouldnt be able to show views like that.
The Establishment Clause holds that the government cannot support one religion over another. The Free Exercise Clause is the one that applies more in this case, and in cases where the government is discouraging religious practice. (Which this most certainly would qualify under.)
It's surprising that these people can make this argument while still being for the ten commandments in courthouses. Dude, seriously? The law only applies when you're upset about it? Of course. Awesome.

@atheistrage It's funny that you'd say that. Maybe this just me being a naive theist, but I think your disbelief in God should be impervious to what theists say... DemonicRemption 1 year ago
@DemonicRemption Well, you're right, My disbelief is imprevious to what Theists might say. But religion is a "disease", and it does effect me. This video is a prime example. I'm sick of people trying to ram their "god" down my throat all the time in an free country. You know it happens all day long. Poeple can believe the world is flat if they want, but it has no place in the goverment, and they don't have the right to except everyone else to play along.
atheistrage 1 year ago
@atheistrage If your disbelief was impervious you wouldn't consider religion a disease nor would be bothered when someone tries to force it on you. I mean Hell, I'm bothered when someone tries to force the disbelief of God on me. If this is supposed to be a "free country" why aren't theists allowed to practice religion and atheists allowed to ignore it. This country is filled with hypocrites from both sides. It's rather annoying.
DemonicRemption 1 year ago
@DemonicRemption I disagree 100% buddy! I've never had an atheist come knocking on my door telling me what to believe. Atheists don't go around leaving fake $20 bills on the ground with religious propaganda on the back. When I rode through the park the other day some asshole with a PA system was yellling at me that this was my "last chance to accept jesus". If anything ,atheists are a minority trying to defend their rights.
atheistrage 1 year ago
@atheistrage Yes defending your rights, by removing ours... Christmas carols with Religious references sung in schools? Gone. A single line in the pledge? Currently being fought over, and the phrase "In God We Trust?" Gone. Bibles in libraries? You don't even read the Sh--, so why do you even care? You idiots won't allow Muslims build a mosque near ground zero. I can see how your "rights" are being "defended."
DemonicRemption 1 year ago
@DemonicRemption No, "we" aren't taking away your rights asshole. You can pray to bejebus a day long. You just can't force your religion on another people in a public (goverment) enviroment (like a school). I'm sure you know, the "under god" wasn't part of the original pledge and was inserted in 1954. I don't really obsess about that to much, but NO, actually you don't have the right to force other people to acknowledge you "god" or establish a connection between your religion and the goverment
atheistrage 1 year ago
@DemonicRemption I'm not allowing (or preventing) anyone to build a Mosque near "ground zero". If fact I"ve heard there are already dozens of christian chruches around that area. If someone has the proper permits they can build whatever they want on private property . It's inculding religion in the goverment I have a legitimate problem with.
Apparently you don't agree with seperation of church and state ? Or it just the seperation of your religion from the government that you don't like ?
atheistrage 1 year ago
@amaqula, I would not be so negative about atheists. Recent statistics revealed that 60% of Irish Catholics do NOT believe in the existence of God.
Now, it seems that you are disappointingly beyond reason and have made up your mind about how the world operates, but the fact that the Church is growing globally, does not mean that secular rationalism has no constructive place in it.
Visit a library and read up on your religion's history and you will find the vital atheist's role in your church.

PeterRabbitTV 1 year ago
I wonder if these same people would have a problem with this if it was the Koran, not the Bible. My guess is that they would be supporting the library, the picture, the artist, and have the artist appear on Hannity, Beck, and Fox and Friends.
jwilder116 1 year ago
If you can't have stone tablets of the ten commandments in a public court house promoting religion then you probably shouldn't have a painting of a bible in a public library dissing religion. You make an excellent point on the Bible. Let's remove all Bibles from all public libraries. If someone really wants one, they can get one from any of the numerous evangelists out there.

In the meantime, until we fix that huge problem, if you're ever sworn in, definitely swear on the bible. The jury will like you more.

@BoozyBeggar Actually I agree. I mean it don't mean shit. Christians are capable of lying all the time hand on bible or no hand.
And you are right about the bias in the US over that.

Rupert Murdoch doesn't care about the bible; the only thing he cares about is money and trying to get in with the establishment crowd. He even has a place at Center Island near Mill Neck on Long Island. I wouldn't doubt it if he was trying to get into the Maidstone Club. Hiring proles like Glenn Beck (and fake proles like Bill O'Reilly, who claims to have had a tough childhood in spite of his well to do upbringing)... actually helps considering FOX news' primary demographic.
jaymthegenius 1 year ago
whoever did put up this painting only wanted their point of not agreeing to the religion to be seen... people may have the right to express themselves, but if you have to put it into the negativity towards others, then no, you cannot express something like that if its gunna offend ppl.. and y is it that the only time pl express themselves is when its something negative towards another party or religious group?
Drinkinghotcoco 1 year ago
@Drinkinghotcoco Yeah actually you CAN its called freedom of speech.
Your last sentence is so dumb its hardly worth talking about, but Ill ask anyway, are you seriously saying no one ever expresses themselves except in negative ways towards other groups? Ever?
I mean really? Did you think that through before you posted it? Or did you mean something else?
EmpiricalAlpha 1 year ago
@EmpiricalAlpha for your information i did mean something else.. before you comment my comment as being dumb, understand that i was saying that when it comes to people expressing themselves, you dont have to express how you feel when you know that it is targeting another group in a negative way... some things are best left unsaid or kept to yourself.... try not to make what i said like its soo complexed that you can pinpoint things within my answers.... doesnt work that way...
Drinkinghotcoco 1 year ago
@Drinkinghotcoco Ahh I see! Where I went wrong was following the words.
Your sentence as you wrote it has only one meaning. If you mean something else thats cool, but don't get snippy because I can only go by what you write. I cant see in your head. k?
And everything you just gabbled out (why on earth has your command of English just declined so rapidly? drunk?) is not what you wrote to start with.
The last part from "try not...." ...no idea. I have no idea what "doesn't work that way".
EmpiricalAlpha 1 year ago
@EmpiricalAlpha yep, i see your problem... you broke my sentences in pieces again as you tried to criticise them... but i guess your mind only goes half ass when you read comments, am i right? you read what you want to read and try to discover the rest, but anyways thats why you dont try to criticise ppl before a complete understanding of what ppl say... thats what i said doesnt work that way: the fact that you break up comments and analyze them one by one...
Drinkinghotcoco 1 year ago
@Drinkinghotcoco Firstly, your sentences are so fragmented as to be almost unreadable, so don't blame me for that.
Secondly, I have actually REDUCED your post (see below, you know you just replied to it but didnt read it) so how did I 'discover' more?
If I don't understand what your saying then by all means correct me. Preferably with correctly constructed sentences.
Statement: You are saying "When t comes to groups its better to keep negative opinions to yourself" TRUE OR FALSE?
EmpiricalAlpha 1 year ago
@EmpiricalAlpha or maybe for once it isnt other ppls fault that you cannot understand what they write... maybe its just your mind going half way at things... i can see that your problem is that you praise every word you write as the gospel... keep saying to yourself that your words are nothing but added on characters on a page and that you never give credit to other ppl about their views but yourself... im guessing correctly constructed sentences in your term means "dumb it down please?"
Drinkinghotcoco 1 year ago
@Drinkinghotcoco Really this whole "Oh your misinterpreting my posts" is really just wriggle room. This post for example is hilarious. Because you just did what you have been accusing me of doing, reading things that are not there.
And no, it means correctly constructed sentences. Having half finished sentences followed by three dots is not correctly constructed sentences. I'm no grammar nazi and I make allowances for people who hold English as a second language.
But...
EmpiricalAlpha 1 year ago
@EmpiricalAlpha and because i add three dots at the end of my sentences is the only reason you cant understand english? oh my we have a problem then dont we? its a reflex, deal with it
Drinkinghotcoco 1 year ago
@Drinkinghotcoco No its because you use three dots in leu of finishing a sentence. Whats more is that, for you, it signifies the start of a completely new and often unrelated sentence. Its like your thought being poured out. Thats not a good way to communicate.
EmpiricalAlpha 1 year ago
@Drinkinghotcoco ...they have to be understandable, else we have no bases for communication as I'm sorry I only speak English and a few words of Japanese and German.
EmpiricalAlpha 1 year ago
@EmpiricalAlpha well arent you an overachiever?well maybe you should get out of the foreign language books and come back to english because your understanding of it is starting to suck badly lol
Drinkinghotcoco 1 year ago
@Drinkinghotcoco And yet.....its so weird, I can understand almost everyone else, even people who hold English as a second language. Thats so bizarre isn't it? I mean, your theory must be right but somehow, I just cant fit that facts to that theory. Still, who needs facts right?! ;)
The problem is (and Ive seen this a few times) the typical style of posting is from someone who thinks it will make them sound thoughtful, poetic and smart.
It doesn't.
But take care. Enjoy the rest of your day.
EmpiricalAlpha 1 year ago
@Drinkinghotcoco And just be clear what you are saying is "if don't have anything nice to say...don't say anything at all". Right?
Answer to that: No. Freedom of speech fail.
You found a better example of Kuma yet?
EmpiricalAlpha 1 year ago
@EmpiricalAlpha i would have to disagree with that... unless you have the bravery to say any old thing without the worry of getting your ass kicked or maybe worse... but i see what road youre going... kinda risky... but just remember that your answer to this question is only an opinion ok? not the fact... many ppl still have opinions about freedom of speech, so dont praise your words...
Drinkinghotcoco 1 year ago
@Drinkinghotcoco Right so what your saying is there is no such thing as freedom of speech because people might get violent?
Well thats quite possible. But there are two problems with that.
1) Try it.
2) Just because some people are violent thugs that doesn't make it right. It also borders on victim blaming.
EmpiricalAlpha 1 year ago
@EmpiricalAlpha that is correct, because its that kind of world obviously... but speak on if you like lol...
Drinkinghotcoco 1 year ago
@Drinkinghotcoco If we shy from freedom of speech because some people might get violence then we ends up back in the dark ages. Its really simply.
Thats whats great about the internet, because your right about the world, but on the net, people can no longer use their fists to make a point. They have to resort to using their brain.

And I cannot wait until that day.
truthsetsyoufree777 1 year ago

VesusSheist 1 year ago
@VesusSheist Destruction is coming whether we like it or not. Look at the dawn of history to the present; two world wars in the last 100 yrs alone! Do you see "mankind" making total peace with one another? (Without the rule of a Dictator of some kind?) (Which there'd still be rebellion. Think about it. War will always be until the end... Just as Jesus say..and partly because of our sinful nature. Please see Matthew 24, Daniel 7, The book of Revelation.
truthsetsyoufree777 1 year ago
@VesusSheist The reason that Christians are "bothering" as you say, is that we know the truth now and God puts it in our hearts to share about HIM/His Love. He puts this love in our hearts to share; as it is written in His Word. Like I said, I was 31 yrs old before I knew the LORD. I only wish someone was "BOTHERING" me wayyy beforehand about the Gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord and who we are in Him. When/if you come to know Him before your death - you will feel the same way. Take care.

1 You're not persecuted.
2 Knowing that a religion will finish at some point does not require god-like smarts. Its just
a) playing the odds.(I expect you believe Nostradamus as well)
b) Adding an additional brainwashing safeguard to keep people believing.
3. You will be waiting a long time for your invisible friend.
EmpiricalAlpha 1 year ago
@EmpiricalAlpha 1) Yes I am persecuted, pls look up the meaning. I may not be in jail (or murdered/yet), but there are others who are. Only because of their faith in Jesus and sharing the Gospel. Check out Voice of the Martyrs & see more. 2) No I don't believe "in" Nostradamus. 3) I was never brainwashed, I was 31 yrs old when I came to Christ. 4) You may be right, He may take His time in hope that more believe in Him beforehand, but He WILL be coming. Can't say you weren't told.
truthsetsyoufree777 1 year ago
@truthsetsyoufree777 1) Show me where you are persecuted by atheists,Also which country do you live in? If you live in Iran, then yes you could well be. If you live in the US or UK then no your not. But I await your examples of how you are persecuted for being a Christian. Or better (in line with your original claim) how atheists are persecuting Christians.
2) (see next part)
3) Never actually said you were. Learn2read and comprehend,
EmpiricalAlpha 1 year ago
@truthsetsyoufree777
EmpiricalAlpha 1 year ago
@EmpiricalAlpha - I understand where you are coming from, because you don't believe it. But have you ever even tried yet to study Bible Prophecy - really took a look at Matthew 24, and other things Jesus said will happen and in regard to Israel? (And align it right with what is going on right before our eyes?) LOOK at Israel, seriously man, more war is coming. Well, can only encourage you to try it - what do you have to lose? Take care, gotta go.
truthsetsyoufree777 1 year ago
@truthsetsyoufree777 FFS. 7: "For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places."
Holy SHIT Your right. Fucking el! Jesus said there will be war disease and earthquakes,. How the fuck could he know that? WOW!
Can you not at all think of another explanation as to how he would know these things would happen? Not one? Serious?
He may as well have said "some shit will go down yo".
EmpiricalAlpha 1 year ago
@EmpiricalAlpha ..Darn it.. quit replying, I have to go after this! ;) LOL
Dude..read the rest of it, man...read the rest of it and other Biblical prophecy also, there's much more than what you posted! also - "This gospel will be preached in all the world, and then the end will come."
If Jesus wasn't God and the Truth - how in tarnations could He have known His Word would be preached throughout the world as it is? The Bible (check wiki) is the best selling book EVER.
truthsetsyoufree777 1 year ago
@truthsetsyoufree777 Then go! You don't have to reply, and unless your part of a suicide cult, you can reply later, I respond to most messages if you reply direct.
Ive read the whole of Mathew 24. Which you directed me to. Not reading the whole bible its rubbish.
However, Ill use the Dillahunty protocol:-
You say other parts of the bible has prophecy that prove divine foresight. So.....
Give me the BEST one. The most evident prophecy. Your choice. (When you get back)
Enjoy yr outing :)
EmpiricalAlpha 1 year ago
@truthsetsyoufree777 And 10-14 is basically "everyone else stops believing this shit? You better keep belivin' it yo!".
People have this idea the 2000 years ago people were totally stupid compared to today. They were not. They may not have had the technology of today but their intelligence was the same, the same smart con-artists tricking the same dumb ready-to-believe-any-old-crap we have today.
EmpiricalAlpha 1 year ago
@truthsetsyoufree777 Its not even falsifiable. Because it doesnt say WHEN this will happen. Which means it will not be proven wrong in perpetuity. Now thats something the Bible has over modern cults. Their mistake is "Oh the aliens iz coming July 17th, just after tea-time" and when they don't people are like "yuz lies". But the Bible written by smarter con-artists were careful not to include that (AFAIK)
EmpiricalAlpha 1 year ago
@EmpiricalAlpha i dont think that saying that the bible was written by smarter con-artists is a good way to put it if you are referring to the ppl who actually did write the first bible before christ... we dont know what those ppl really witnessed unless you have a time machine to say otherwise... and things predicted by the bible only happen if you have ppl who solely live by it... ppl rather live by it than prove the revelation of the bible wrong...
Drinkinghotcoco 1 year ago
@Drinkinghotcoco Why you think they were dumber?
It takes a lot to create a cult that lasts 2000 years. It has some great stuff in it to enforce belief. Not just "believe or suffer" but things about "God mysterious thats why he doesn't make sense" and "dont listen to people who have silly things like facts and evidence they are just the devil testing your faith if you listen you lose teh game. You dont wanna lose teh game do you?".
Smart. Smart. Smart.
EmpiricalAlpha 1 year ago
@EmpiricalAlpha and again... youre reading in to deep of what im saying.... the bottom line is, we werent there to experience what happened before christ, so you and i are not to judge... so who knows if what youre saying is the devil testing me really something that is factual? nobody knows, not even you...
Drinkinghotcoco 1 year ago
@Drinkinghotcoco The monster under my bed said you have to pay me £10 or else he is going to eat you.
Better pay me £10 because you must believe in that monster. Since your not here to know that Im lying. Is it worth risking your life for £10?
Ill PM my paypal.
You see when you go down your road we have to believe any old shit. It all depends on whether you care about what you believe being true.
I DO care. So no, I don't believe any claim without evidence and when someone makes a claim....
EmpiricalAlpha 1 year ago
@EmpiricalAlpha wow thats funny, because i diont remember saying anything about solely believing everything in the bible... did i? but anyways, i do read the bible, but i dont not take anything written inside of it literally as it seems like you claim i do...
Drinkinghotcoco 1 year ago
@Drinkinghotcoco Ok thats fair. So do you take some of it to be literal?
EmpiricalAlpha 1 year ago
@EmpiricalAlpha like i said before, i dont take what it says literally...
Drinkinghotcoco 1 year ago
@Drinkinghotcoco ....contrary to what we know about the working of the universe then we CAN dismiss it. In the same way as we dismiss leprechauns and other fictional creations.
For example. Even though we were not there we CAN prove that the flood was not real (as depicted in the bible). Apart from physical evidence that shows a world flood did not happen there is internal inconstancy of basic logic. There is inconstancy with reality.
EmpiricalAlpha 1 year ago
@Drinkinghotcoco ...(3) We cannot just accept any old claim not matter how stupid on the bases of "Oh well I wasn't there". Then we have no way of telling what is real, and what is fake. You don't have to be somewhere to assess a claim's truth. Just as you don't have to be in my house to know there is no monster under my bed.
I do not intend to live my life based on a made up story which may be true because "I wasn't there". Thats a waste of my time.
EmpiricalAlpha 1 year ago
@Drinkinghotcoco (4) And Most important. I Do not intend to have MY life or the lives of OTHER people controlled on the bases that "Oh well we cant say its not true, we were not there". No way.
So fuck religion.
EmpiricalAlpha 1 year ago
@EmpiricalAlpha so you do believe that you can just dress up fact any way you can just because you werent there to witness it? and when you say fuck religion, do you still believe in god? and if not, then arent you becoming the true "athiest" that you despise so much?
Drinkinghotcoco 1 year ago
@Drinkinghotcoco Um no. Thats the exact opposite of what I believe. What do you mean?
No i don't believe in god. Explain "true atheist" and....im sorry but whaaaaa? Are you confusing me with someone else....what makes you think I despise atheists?
EmpiricalAlpha 1 year ago
@EmpiricalAlpha and point to me when or where i said that they were dumber...
Drinkinghotcoco 1 year ago
@Drinkinghotcoco I was asking. You don't think they were smarter, I was asking if you thought they were dumber.
EmpiricalAlpha 1 year ago
@truthsetsyoufree777 And yes there will be more wars. (And earthquakes) you and your sci-fi book of magic dont get credit for stating the obvious. Soz.
Waiting for details of your persecution (especially by atheists)

@truthsetsyoufree777

Of course. Awesome.
