Know all these legends well, my dad was Brian patterson, Uncle Brent, Grandpa Vance. See them every year at the bmx hall of fame ceremony. Gregs an awesome guy, very funny always bringing life to the party. Nice video man!
@bgpjr1989 ..Dude...ur dad is Brian Patterson?..props to you!!...I worshipped Patterson stuff back in the day..All knowing about Patterson equip...Had 2 Pattersons in my BMX daze...loved em.I liked how they were low n long..real clean look....And the BOSS line of bikes were sweet as well...My time in BMX..ur uncle was king...and ur dad was comin up...sure were fun times in BMX...late70s - early 80s
Oh man last month I was on a bmx ride in LA with about 200 other riders and Greg Hill was there. Awesome ride and he even raffled off a custom made bike.
Wow, this really brought back memories, I raced through the 80's and I sure miss the racing scene then. I loved the pics in the mags of the pros, all great role models at the time. Things have changed, but today I watched a national race and have been thinking about racing again at 38..!
I got a GT Pro bike from '83 thanks to Greg winning on his so much.Smoothest bmx bike I ever rode, and jumped good too.too bad it had wings on the down tube and flew away one day
Very cool. The music complimented the pictures quite nicely. I don't know how many people know this, but Greg started racing pro at 14. I have a picture of him racing pro at a Shawnee, OK national in 1978. All of the top pros were there. I was a year older than him, but never got the chance to race him. At least I don't think so. I raced 15 and 16 expert, but only went to a couple of nationals.
I raced during 1980 and watched all you guys at the Pontiac Silverdom. Back in the Harry Larry Days. My nephew races today 14 expert Brandon McDowell. Check him out when you have time!
If your looking for Greg, Oz and others, check out BMXActionOlineDotCom. He's still very active in the sport. And there's lots of stuff about the old BMXA mag.
OMG,Damn I remeber the days with me on my Diamond Back Silver Streak and my brother on his Harry Leary Turbo Diamond back racing in the early 80's..man those were the days!
Awesome! I recognize these pictures since I still have most of the magazines [bmx action, bmx plus]they came out of. Greg Hill was one of the best riders ever in bmx history. I have seen him during the world championships in Holland in 1983 and he was my hero back then. Great memories.
Very Cool. Greg is one of the very best BMX racers of all time, and a great person as well. A true champion! Good job putting this together and cool music.
