It from the very beginning did not plan to introduce in manufacture. SU-47 it is flying laboratory for working off of elements of PAK FА. It is possible to notice that they are very similar, except for wings, for example the fuselage form has a strong likeness
those arent rivets LOL you guys are funny thats whats called Arch welding the Russians havent used riveting on aircraft since the 1960s lmao Im a former aircraft mechanic great plane!
Interesujacy. Ale konwencjonalne dysze i technologia stealth? Jeszcze dużo pracy. No i 20 lat po oblocie prototypu (YF-22) Raptora (F-22). W przypadku Rosji to nawet lepiej.
You wish to tell PAK FA is similar on YF-23? It not so. It is similar to it as well as on any other plane which has 2 engines, wings and a cabin of the pilot.
If to compare to other planes that most PAK FА it is similar on SU-47 Berkut.
it has a little bit similarity when looking at it from the side or the nose and cockpit section only - but look up any picture of both from top or belly and you'll see they're not even closely resemble each other.
Official Russian requests that we could find on the Internet asked for: supercruise ability AND stealthness AND super-manoeuvrability. Of course few knows what actually IS her RadarCrossSection,that is probably between the one of F-22 and Typhoon
I wouldn't go as far as saying all aircraft have rivets, but a majority of them do. Even so you're mistaken about the F-22 and rivets being used on the skin/airframe. Like most modern high-tech production facilities they've switched from using rivets to diffusion laser/ electron-beam welding. It's stronger, and is able to join dissimilar composites together. I like Russian aircraft, but hopefully we can agree that rivets are going the way of the dodo bird.
please don't give me that BS - google for high rez pictures of the F-22 and you'll see rivets being used extensively - I've just seen a picture where it has them in the same spots as the pak fa - around the cockpit area.
of them advance all this technology? In the end we're all going to the same burraco, both black or white, American, European or russos.Todo this patriotism in excess of no use to them, over which you have nesty area may be to cover other disability. I'm black bathing suits instead of you whites have the big stick. he he he!
Because of using the whole vertical tailplanes as rudders the PakFa is more efficient and has less drag. It makes the PakFa better in extreme manoeuvering and it gives the PakFa a better turn radius and better spin control!
If you compare them with the F-22 you will see that PakFa's vertical tailplanes are smaller because of using the whole vertical tailplane as a rudder. This is the first fighter ever to use this kind of vertical tailplane/rudder!
Thanks, well done!

На нем будут стоять другие двигатели и сопла другие будут, сейчас это только планер. Но однозначно красивее американца.

бла бла бла... почему сопла круглые? какая тут к черту будет невидимость. Лохам всучивать.
f00kumofo123 2 years ago
А у квадратных соплах невидимость лучше???
denisbpz 2 years ago
@denisbpz
Сплющенные сопла - чтоб тепловой след рассеивать. В ИК диапазоне этот не луше будет 29-го мига.

what this and F-22? I think they look kind of similar, PAK-FA seems like a mix of F-22 and Su-35. It does look fatter (wider) though.
Btw do we know anything about it yet ? Will it have thrust vectoring and supercruise and all the goodies?

what is it with Russians and rivets?
gyrfalcon 2 years ago
you want to say what is it with aviation and rivets.
All aircraft use them - look at a close up picture of a F-22 and you'll see them as well.
This prototype isn't painted yet - but the rivets are flushed like on F-22 - after it gets it's coating you won't see them anymore.

Agreed! in addition it has moving lex, which produces the same effect as front horisontal surface, making it more manuerovable.
surv91ilmari 2 years ago
@surv91ilmari
Indeed! All this combined with 360 degree TVC will make the PakFa extremely manoeuvrable!
I'm ILTUSU BTW!! This my first account lol!!
