I liked Saleisha and Chantal. But Saleisha deserved to win hen it comes down to their final exams. Her Runwaywalk is one of the best in antm history and her covergirl was better than chantal's. Chantal had stronger photos though. But I'm happy with Saleisha.

I have to say one more thing: giving a fashion show hosted by a foreign model in the Forbidden City is taboo and not allowed. China is not so open-minded towards foreigners visiting or living within its boundaries. What Tyra did must've been a secret because I've never heard of a designer using an imperial monument or area for something such as a fashion show. It's a huge disrespect to the history and the imperial dynasties.

as a chinese i think that is the worst runway show EVER. whoever thought of having people dressing in qing dynasty officials clothes sitting around doing nothing AND have people dancing on stilts at the side of the runway is the most RIDICULOUS combination, like that just makes no sense at all. They coulda chose to show the elegant side of China but DIDNT. and the clothes?? they're HIDEOUS. Both the ones on the model and the cheap "extras".

I wouldn't say that the judges are wearing Qing dynasty official clothes. Tyra may be wearing an outfit that's inspired by traditional chinese fashion but.... do people really think the women wear such an outfit? Chinese women are not only modest on the inside but look the part too. The thing about reality TV programs in America is that they rarely portray foreign cultures accurately.

I see your point, the imperial dynasties of China are extensive and great in number. To portray the once powerful and autocratic royal class in a manner that suits the wishes of a former supermodel and make her look like a deity is apalling. Her entrance was befitting of a queen or king, the seat she sat in was in a structure that evidently served the purpose of addressing one's court officials. It was a complete insult to royal traditions and is never permitted.

The contestants views on foreign cultures (whether they're edited or not) help keep ratings up. Who finds it amusing to watch a woman in her early 20's complain about how hot it is in China or that everyone speaks Chinese? It humors the viewers. So you see? ANTM can portray a foreign country inaccurately and most of the fans won't care.

The idea of Chinese people wearing those hats and possessing long braided hair all the time or having the skill of an acrobatic circus performer? Yeah, I know. The American TV shows portray Chinese stereotypes often and Chinese actors have to embody America's cultural ideas in order to make sense to the rest of the country when on TV.

Now, I care about how relevant ANTM is towards the fashion industry and how respectful it is when in a foreign country. The reason being is America's view of the world is very complicated, in which pure filth mixed in with the pretty stuff. They only see Paris and London as the sophisticated foreign capitals while every other capital is poor and developing. Tyra's crew usually portrays the world in the latter fashion.

Lastly, I agree with you on how rude it was of Tyra and the contestants to behave towards the culture of China even though they should've studied the country prior to leaving LA. It is not acceptable for the final runway challenge to be in the Forbidden City which was the sanctuary for the emperors of Imperial China. It's shocking.

I totally agree. The Chinese tourist ministry under the communist party really made a bad decision. They've allowed some US reality show about fashion models to ridicule the country, and stamp on the pride of Chinese people. But then again the communists probably don't care about how China was portrayed on foreign shows,as long as theres publicity. After all, ANTM is an big time AMERICAN show.

I'm not sure if that was their intention or not, though the consequence is evident. I don't expect ANTM to ever think of its foreign destination because it's a rush-rush process to get there. During Cycle 3, there was alot of stress before the contestants were allowed to check in with the customs agency in Tokyo. Tyra forgot to ask her staff to do so, thus the contestants were interviewed by the officials for hours due to suspiscion of prostition or drug smuggling....

...So, the staff took them to Guam and checked in with the customs agency there in order to check in with the customs agency in Tokyo afterwards Their absence during the time filming was supposed to occur costed the show thousands of dollars.

@Ginne86 American reality shows and Hollywood will always try to portrait China in every negative way it could be possibly be. So let it be! The truth is China is a force to be reckoned with, whether you like it or not! That's why ANTM has to consider doing its show in China and it shows that despite the negativity, China can still say it aloud, "Kiss my ass"!

China has so much to offer to the world and people can be jealous about that.

Saleisha already had a contract with a modeling agency (Photogenic Models) prior to auditioning for the show. Some of her work included runway, a commercial and an online advertisement. She seemed to be doing pretty well and came on the show already a winner (literally!). Her performance during the runway show was too cutsey which is not what the designer's clothes stood for. The idea was a recreation of classical clothing patterns. Saleisha's walk probably angered the designer.
