  • Hey thanks!sorry I don't have the sheet music..I purposely took the video from this angle, hopefully you can see the position of the hand...

  • Wow, simply one of the best}

  • I like this music!!!!^^

  • Let me not forget to say that this is indeed a very good performance of an instant classic theme from another Castlevania installment that is not so well liked. Great playing!

  • The best Castlevania is sotn and the second best is curse of darkness...this game is awesome!!

very good!! Castlevania Curse of darkness the best in 3D and simphony of the night is the bests in 2D

  • well Duh every body knows that symphony of the night is the best

  • every castlevania is unique and has something others don't. And they have their flaw as well.

Symphony of the Night greatly lacks difficulty unless you try to do an unarmed speedrun on mode X-X!Q''V.

And getting somewhere in CoD is long, there are no way to travel faster other than the teleporter and the tickets. At least, in LoI, once you had the Mobius Brooch, you can use Green+Axe to go fast.

  • not necessarily man.

  • Magnificient song! This was a unfortunately not one of the best games in the series; if they made it more difficult and added more enemies and different terrains it would surely have been one of the best, since the character is awsome, the innocent devil system is cool and the music was outstanding!

  • yea agree, the monster-whacking become monotonous eventually. Graphically I'd prefer LOI for its color scheme & design of the castle, while COD is better with animation of character. I get the kick from nurturing innocent devils & customizing weapons..& yeah the music is impressive!:D

  • not one of the best game sin the series its not, sound track of the year of course, but it cant be the best since that title belongs to symphony of the night. Now thats tough to beat

  • I can only agree with one thing; I hate the artwork for the DS games, it is not that elegant masterart that usually appears in the castlevania games. The DS art look so ordinary; plastic, childish, no soul at all!

  • I agree about the DS part, but they had to do that so that it would be easier to animate. Though, I would love to see Ayami Kojima's artwork animated, it would seem impossible because her's is purely for static aesthetics.

  • Excuse me, but how the hell can you think that the DS games suck!? There are Four games that shouldn´t even be called castlevania: those two for 64, castlevania II simons quest and castlevania legends.

At least I hope you can agree that symphony of the night is the best game ever made and that no game will ever overcome it?

  • symphony of the night is the second best... Super Castlevania 4 is the best... in my opinion. but man, i just can't agree with you on the DS... they just weren't good. i was highly disappointed... sorry

  • Certainly, Simon's Quest strayed from the formula of the original game, and the American translation butchered its original intent, but it's still a good game in its own right. Plus it produced some very good music and gameplay ideas, to be later used in Symphony of the Night.

  • i have loved every single castlevania game that has ever come into existence, with the exception

of the ones for Nintendo DS. the music in every

game is extremely well chosen, and you can always tell that it came from castlevania, no matter where you hear it... long live Castlevania!

  • i agree my favorite is Lol especially the song at the last level when he's actually in the castle.

  • agree!! leon's theme is awesome!

  • I'm impressed... I've never seen any Castlevania music on piano. Excellent job.

  • you make me cry... tanks

  • hey..nice :)...hope to catch up with ya soon :)

  • wow not bad on the piano

  • As a fellow castlevania piano player, I gotta say this is great stuff. We need to play more obscure castlevania songs like this. Really, great job on this.

  • Wow..

    Your better than me..=/

  • This is superb. I really want to play this now - don't suppose you have sheets I can use?

  • Ur really talented!! I'm still trying 2 learn this!! can u play mortvia aqueduct?

  • One of the most beautiful songs of Michiru Yamane. Congrats! Nice play!

  • this cover is beautifully done, well done

  • Please post the tab for this one to any site!PLEASE!!!I just love it!

  • Nice playing! When it comes to music, castlevania is the best! For me, curse of darkness is in second place aftes SOTN..

  • I want more from Castlevania

  • Beautiful!

  • The frame video is a little bad, it play slowly...however, excelent interpretation for this song...CoD have good music, yes, is some "modern" (much more guitar than the classics "wood carving partita" or "dance of pales") like "followers of darkness - the third" or "insane aristocracy (young nobleman of madness)...but there are others whit classics instruments like piano..."garibaldi temple"...

  • someone plz tell me where to get this sheet music

  • Where can I get the sheet music for this ?

  • Das war ganz gut, aber du solltest dein Klavir mal stimmen lassen!

  • I love the Castlevnaia on the 64 if anyone has played that then they'll know that is a great Castlevania !

Its a huge shame that Europe didn't get COD i wanted it for so long >.< i order it, it didn't come ( what a stab in the heart for a Huge castlevania fan like me -_- )

But nm, hopefully i will be rewarded with a Castlevnaia game on the 360 to wipe out every other game XD

If only dreams were real ay !

  • well it was realeased in Europe the big problem is .....................they only sent few units so....must of ppl didn t get it lol.

i had to move like 300 km to get mine roflmao , coz i didn t found it in the stores i know , lucky my cousin found it in there :p ......

  • Awah you're lucky ^.~

  • yeah realy lucky , but try to buy it on konami-europe site ... you should be able to get something there ............or you can buy it on a store of used games (2nd hand)

  • Yeah thats a good idea ^_^

    Thanks :D

  • >< CoD was one of the best castlevanias out there, personally my favorite, and i can say it came to "clean" the 3D castlevania's name (bc LoI wasnt really good)

  • I see !

thanks ^_^ but until i can play it and judge for meself i shall say the first 3d castlevania is the best :P

You shpuld try to hunt it donw ^.~

  • hehehe well most ppl just own a PS/PS2 so only know about LoI and they didnt liked it. myself i havent really played 64 :( my brother sold our N64 but well i will try to get a rom to test it out thanks for the advice :)

  • awah thats too bad ^_^

    You're welcome ^_^

  • yoa finger slike girlfingers ar jo?

  • Great song! I play some in`piano. I just have to record them. Maybe we could share our Castlevania music. I was trying to play: GARIBALDI TEMPLE. It´s difficult :S Could you play it? :D

  • yea Garibaldi Temple is great music too, sound so much like Bach's music. I don't think I can play it before I notate & write down the notes...which I'm kinda lazy to do right now..haha..

  • Omg until i see a cod soundtrack heey good could you please play abandoned castle or eneomaos machine tower? some of the best

  • If I ever meet you I am totally buying you a Coke®.

  • I love this song!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is great stuff. Yeah, the game kind of let me down, but the soundtrack is awesome. Can't wait to hear you play another tune for us. =D

  • CoD was NOT a letdown.

  • I'm just saying it kind of let ME down. If you guys, loved it, then more power to you.

  • How though? It was more in depth than Symphony of the Night. Hey you are entitled to your opinion. I just don't get how CoD can be so underrated, when it had so much to offer on the table.

  • CoD is indeed underrated;however,Sotn took CV to a whole new level. The big thing was 3D and along came this 2D game and raised the bar. CoD is a 3D game already and competing with other 3D games so people tend not give it much credit. I rank Sotn#1,LoI#2,and CoD#3. Props to Manyfungus fot the piano work.

  • Oh yeah definitely, NitM/SotN revolutionized the Castlevania franchise. I could have told you that.

But in all honesty, CoD is a bigger and deeper game than NitM/SotN.... And not because it's 3-D either.

  • I agree with you there. CoD is much bigger than SotN. I wonder if Komani will ever make SotN in 3D. Bring on the next CV game. Let's get a sequel to LoI or the unseen adventures of Julius Belmont on a home console and not a handheld.

  • That's exactly what I want.

A direct sequel to LoI starring Leon Belmont once again, where he faces Mathias. LoI was amazing and all but ending just did NOT do Leon Belmont justice. It basically said he journeyed the lands in search of Mathias and died of natural causes. To me, that was a spit in my face as well as Leon Belmont's. So I say Konami needs to make a sequel to LoI.

And yes, Julius needs his own game that takes place in 1999.

  • I was a little disappointed with LoI's ending. Leon just walks away from the castle and that's it. No dialogue from him. Where does this game take place exactly? The narrator says that Mathias goes hiding in foreign lands which means he didn't just linger around. Did he migrate to Transylvania and the Belmonts just happened to track him there or did he return to LoI's terrain and decided to establish himself there.

  • Me too. Otherwise, LoI was incredible. It needs a sequel to light some sparks between the first vampire hunting Belmont and a very young Count Dracula, both of whom were once the best of friends.....

I just loved that idea how the first unholy slaying Belmont and the soon-to-be bane of humanity were once trustworthy friends. You actually feel sorry for both sides.

  • It was a great idea. For some strange reason, that's how all great rivalries start(i.e. Professor X and Magneto).

  • Yep.... X-Men.... Good shit.

  • X-men, wtf?

  • agree, the ending only shows the dawn for the forest & I thought "that's all!?" There is a big gap in the CV history. I hope the rumoured CV movie will feature that, and the continued enemity between leon & matthias.

  • Yeah! Give Leon something to end his saga better than that ending.I salute your skills on the piano w/this piece. When I first heard it,I thought I was playing the game almost.

  • MARRY ME.

    NOW.

  • Wonderful!!

  • I hope you compose Toccata into Blood Soaked Darkness :)

  • i second to that >_< i saw my brother playing CoD, it make me want to play, but the abandoned castle song really annoying lol

Btw... really good peformance... i wish i can play piano >_<

  • not haved pentagram of this song? D=

  • o.o very cool dud xD

  • Nice Song! Please post more songs from this game

  • i love the songs from this game.

  • That was awesome. To me it's one of best Castlevania songs.

  • Waaaht?¿?Thanks but you are a lot better player than me in all aspects!! I will practice...Love your songs, greetings from Spain.

  • Greeting to you too,thank you!!:D

  • Speak for yourself, if you disregard the fact that Curse of Darkness was a "3-D" (Apparently to most, "3-D" in Castlevania means "Bad") Castlevania... It is actually better than Symphony of the Night. And overall Symphony of the Night is suppose to be the best Castlevania along with Rondo of Blood. IMO, I don't believe that to be the case any longer. Curse of Darkness did many things that Symphony of the Night would never be able to replicate.

  • That's a pretty powerful claim... I'll have to play it to challenge that as I loved SOTN. I can't give much of an opinion as I haven't yet played this Curse of Darkness. I do love a lot of the music from it though.

  • Yeah dude, there's alot to be done in Curse of Darkness that just can't be conceived in Symphony of the Night. Yo, I love Alucard and the plot is surely superior (Mathias vs. his son, you can't beat that)... I know this. However, Curse of Darkness has a pretty damn good story too and there's just more things to do. And the music... *Sighs* The music is gorgeous in CoD.

  • Agreed... I find myself listening to more and more of it's OST. I really think I'll buy this game..

  • Yeah definitely. However, there's a chance you may notice the 1st area (The Abandoned Castle, which has the worst music in the game) of the game seeming rather boring and uninspiring. The reason I'm saying this is because I almost stopped playing it completely, due to the 1st area's vibe. But once you get past that, the musical and dramatical factors sky rocket into glorious bliss. The acting is so well done, it's like reading William Shakespeare.

  • music is a rather subjective thing, I'd think the worse main theme is infinite corridor, followed by the Cave of Jigramunt, melody is almost non-exsistent.I do find Abandoned Castle doesn't quite fit the stage setting though.

  • Yes I understand what you mean. I'am an RPG player too. Getting to the point however, Castlevania Symphony of the Night may not have been a "facially realistic" (No facial expressions, no polygon forming character developments a.k.a. 3-D) but that movie, drama element you and I deem important was definitely present in that game. And like very few others, I'am one who doesn't appreciate a high quality action game with mediocre to no drama myself.

  • Saying that Final Fantasy didn't have the best battle system in the RPG genre is quite debatable. Dude, there were 12 Final Fantasies plus the sequels, spin offs and remakes. There were plenty of battle systems. Surely one or more of them (To the eyes of the majority) was deemed the best battle sys. in the RPG genre.... Maybe none of them were. But you don't know whether or not the FF series didn't hold the best battle sys.

  • Wow, don't be so critical against Infinite Corridor. I see your point but the song itself was surely meant to instill an aura of terror and despair unto the player. And I think it does a marvolous job. That's what's good about. I believe all Castlevania fans look for a song like that once in a while, even if it seems repetitive. To Michiru Yamane, it was meant to be repetitive for a reason. Besides that song alone was pretty damn good, made you feel like you were gonna meet eternal damnation.

  • I agree with you there. Infinite Corridor did set the mood for the stage.

  • Yep.

As for Castlevania: Curse of Darkness the game itself, I absolutely loved it overall. It really is a 3-D Nocturne/Symphony.

  • I agree with you there. If CoD would have came out first in 2D on the PS,then SotN was in 3D the same argument would still be going on today. I actually enjoy this game. As I stated earlier,it is my 3rd favorite CV game.

  • Exactly....

Yep, Curse of Darkness is my favorite 3-D CV too. Actually, it's my favorite CV overall. It does everything right and contradicts nothing..... Well except Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse. But Dracula's Curse wasn't truly story driven, so other than Hector, Issac, Trevor's scar and the new cast members of the "Trevor Belmont" saga, there's nothing much that contradicts Dracula's Curse because the NES game itself is not story driven.

  • There's virtually no deep driven plot, yet Dracula's Curse is a marvelous game.

  • Ah the Cave of Jigramunt theme.... Another great piece I'd say because it was very climactic along with Eneomaos Machine Tower (Another beautiful climatic piece). Cave of Jig. was very catchy, upbeat yet slow.... Quite original if you ask me. As for Abandoned Castle.... It wasn't good at all. It was quite uninspring IMO. I don't know what Konami was thinking when they composed that piece.

  • Trust me on this one, you will not regret completing my home work assignment. And once you've completed the assignment of just getting into the game, let me know of your comments, thoughts and opinions. I would just SSSOOO love to hear them. I actually can't wait to hear about from you about Shadow of the Colossus.

  • Yeah well I'am known for defying the opinions of the majority. The opinions of the majority are generally nothing more than followers of the narrow. Anyone can say SotN was the best Castlevania just by playing it or by word from another. But if you haven't played Curse of Darkness, you really know if SotN was the best CV for sure.

  • Actually I havn't played SOTN, only played NES CV, LOI & COD, so I cant compare em with SOTN.Despite the popularity of SOTN, I don't plan to play any of the 2D CV game. gfx design & music are the most important elements to me IMO, & LOI has beautiful gfx design (not just how realistic the gfx is, but the blend of colors, visual effects, architectural design..etc) while COD has beautiful music. That's y I'd recommend COD music to all those SOTN fans.

  • That's a bit shallow on a gamer's part. Graphics don't make a game. If you are comparing the crappy gameplay of NES CV to SotN, you would be totally off. SotN has the smoothest character control ever in a 2-D game (The complete polar opposite to the shitty, jump forward and not being able to move back in mid-air NES CV). Controlibility is one of the factors of SotN that make it God-like in the world of 2-D platforming, equal to if not better than the smoothest Metroid game.

  • shallow or not, it's just my way of playing a game. Everyone has their preferences & their way of perceiving a game. I didn't say gfx & music are EVERYTHING that make a gd game, I just say those are elements that appeal the most to me. Storyline is very impt in a game but I don't normally look for fantastic storyline in action game (I don't mean there aren't any.)

  • As a RPG player, I view a game as a artistic product, like a movie or fiction, with much more interactivity & things u can't achieve with movie.I enjoy the controbility in action game but IMO, while great controllability & system add bonus to replay value, the theme, storyline, music & gfx are very much the essence of a game & the effect on the audience is long lasting eg. Final Fantasy. The effect is worldwide & lasted for 20 yrs. It doesn't have the best battle system even among the RPG genre.

  • You know what? I love this conversation. I love this conversation so much I'am gonna give you some home work, from one artistic viewing gamer to another.

Your home work: Go get a copy of a PS2 gem called "Shadow of the Colossus" (It's only $20). The graphics are the best of any PS2 game (This is not my opinion, it's a fact)! The music.... Epic and climatic beyond God. Just play it. The reason why I say play SotC is because I believe it has everything you deem important in a video game IYourO.

  • I see video games in the ways of an artist too. However, I'am just too much of a gamer to the point where some games are just too difficult to overlook (SotN for example) just because it doesn't look a movie or have characters that don't expell facial expressions within it's in-game or FMV components.

  • thats funny because CoD is widely regarded as a piece of crap by most fans and just the game comm. at large in terms of graphix, gameplay, and level design.

  • Gameplay and graphics - :D *come on, apart from some cruddy textures on a lot of environments, the game has pretty technically good graphics*

    Level design - D:

  • CoD was not a piece of crap though, if anything it was a revolutionary Castlevania title.

  • What the fuck are you talking about? Are you bl
