  • This seasteading project is basically history repeating itself. When the United States was first established, it was pretty much a free society in comparison to the rest of the world. And on the foundation of capitalism the US became great. However, capitalism is exactly what has lead us to today's political and economic plight. Why? Because of competition for power. And competetion always leads to corruption because corrupt people also compete. Capitalsim will always lead down to socialism.

  • Sir, please tell me. When will this city be up and running, and why aren't we hearing more about it from Libertarian websites and thinktanks? If this is true, then when should I pack my bags?

  • hey man, like your vids but had a few quibbles here I'd like to address. Probably will make a video response tomorrow, i just finished putting some notes together on what i'd like to discuss. Thx for posting up quality vids, man. :)

  • @stealthswimmer cool i look forward to your response.

  • Very good video. If I had the funds, I would invest in Doug Casey's ranch in Argentina...and bribe the local corrupt officials there. LOL

  • this may be the best video i have seen in my life.

  • @AnarchoCapitalistTV Feel free to mirror it and link to my channel.

  • This is without doubt one of the most inspiring things I have heard on the subject of liberty for some time. You speak with a controlled sense of fervour, I hope you get the seasteading ambassador role because I'm sure you'll do a good job. Also subscribed.

  • @mitcha002 Thank you!

  • I think the idea that libertarianism is dying is ridiculous. The trend of greater individual sovereignty through history is clear. Human freedom makes gains in large lurches and then loses some ground, but the trend is good and I think we're due for a lurch.

  • @thinkchip I agree with you, but I like hyperbole :). However, I think the likelihood of libertarianism becoming popular with the masses is almost zero. Society has lurched forward always because of a highly motivated and idealistic minority. At almost all times and places, the "masses" have opposed freedom, and those who would lead them to it. But there is a highly motivated and idealistic minority today with unprecedented opportunities before them. Statism is only temporary!

  • @AxiomaticLiberty thanks

  • Excellent video and moral raiser.

  • Great video. Thanks! :-)

  • There is of course the, I think serious, danger of people who support Ron Paul but believe he can't win - and so consequently not voting for him - turning that into a self-fulfilling prophecy. Right now, on the basis of every scientific poll, Ron Paul is currently in the 3rd place. You must admit, that is amazing. I think it's still worth voting for him, even as an anarchist. By the way, Ron Paul is probably a closet voluntarist. He knew Rothbard and was friends with him for many years.

  • That truly is amazing if he's in 3rd place. More power to him! Ron Paul is actually how I discovered anarcho-capitalism, and I'm aware of his close ties to Rothbard, so I have no doubt that he is a closet-ancap. In regards to voting, I have some minor moral qualms about it, but largely I just don't think it is very effective strategy for liberty. I would much rather bypass the state system entirely. Different strokes for different folks i guess.

  • @t3hsauce 99.99999& of the time, you'd be absolutely correct and I would be right with you. Voting, generally speaking, is not an effective strategy to promote liberty, and it's demeaning besides, since all it amounts to is grovelling and genuflection to your political masters for more goodies and less severe whippings. But so long as I have no reason to doubt that a politician would decrease the overall power of the state - and with Ron Paul I have no such reason - he'll get my vote.

  • no minimum wage restrictions? get hiring! thanks for the vid. very exciting.

  • Good stuff. My general thinking recently has been like this: liberty-loving people who are into property rights and polycentric law should try to live together. No one will be "persuaded" through politics, and any changes in popular sentiment will likely be short lived and not worth much at all. If we can get some land to build the lives that we want - fantastic. The fact that Honduras is giving them land - wow, man. But what if it decides to take it back?? :)

  • @TheLegalImmigrant05 It is a danger. But they are making sure during the survey process that there are virtually no natural resources. The last thing they want is to find oil and have it nationalized in 15 or 20 years. The idea is that resources matter far less than rules, so they will be successful based on having freedom. The fewer resources they have, the smaller the danger of government take over.

  • people don't want freedom!! What you smoking man?

    Ron Paul All The Way!

  • @Kelitor I'm smoking a new drug. It's called reality. I highly suggest you watch this video: watch?v=mc3xDhJFPIU&feature=channel_video_title
