  • This video went viral on Buenos Aires

  • This is bullshit i dont know what the rules are but no player can enter the goalie crease and there was goalie interference

  • No Goal, the goaltender is being interfered by opponents who are within the crease. A 2 Minute minor should have been assessed for Goaltender Interference and the goal Disallowed.

  • @ritzcrackers27 no every player in that situation has the right to that ice and the puck. the goalie does not have possession of the puck. its only interference when a player of the opposing team purposely hits the goalie or pushes someone into him. it was a goal and a blown call by the refs

  • GOAL

  • good call because of goalie interference anyway

  • wtf man this should even be a penalty player pushing on the goali wtf is that crapy complaining about

  • goal

  • Intent to blow the whistle was shown no goal. BTW I don't even know any of these teams so no bias from me.

  • no goal man in the crease

  • @thewerdguy the puck was there and in the NCAA u can be in the crease

  • GOAL

  • Shouldn't had been allowed anyways since the goalie was constantly being pushed away from the puck, by teammates AND by the opposing team also

  • I was bullshit while i was watching this play, but i can except it now because UML is in the top four in Hockey East and BU is the third worse. Karma is a bitch

  • Meh, I'll take that dose of karma for the seven trophies from last year. Really, it's okay. Good luck for UML getting anything done this year, seriously. Because it's their last chance for a while.

  • @EhwfCaw carmas a bitch wtf its not up to BU wheter its a goal or not its up to the refs

  • you can see Yip cross checking the guy into the ice the entire time, thank God that goon is out of Hockey East

  • ...and into the NHL.

Because when guys are dogpiling on the goalie usually teams let them?

  • @olo567 at what point do you see any players besides Matt Gilroy on the goalie...? The only point a UML player comes close is when Yip cross checks him that way...

  • without watching review , i can tell that there is no goal whistle came after or before , can't you see that golly was pushed away by players and it must be disallow goal after golly was interference with out penalty call !

  • Take comfort UML, you have a top program and you are getting better all the time. One day UML will win it all, and Blaise will be a hero. Old BU guy 1965 Col of Engineering

  • That was a goal, the puck got hidden under the flap of the net

  • BU SUCKKSS BITCH UML ALL THE WAY

  • UML goes back to the Garden and takes home the hockey east championship

  • And a warrant goes out because stealing things is illegal. Just like Hamilton's drug-possession was.

  • went in before the whistle

    bad call

  • Read the other comments, that's not the only reason why a goal should be disallowed like this.

  • in the rules, human error is taken into account. ref loses sight of the puck, thats when there is SUPPOSED to be a whistle. even if the ref isn't quick enough to blow the whistle, the play is dead when the ref deems it to be dead. think to last year's unh vs BC game, when the goaltender's helmet came off. there was no whistle as the ref was not quick enough to blow it before the shot, but when a helmet comes off, or the ref loses sight, or in this the play is dead. whistle or no whistle. no goal

  • same thing for the net coming off. any time the net is lifted or in a position where it is not laying on the moorings normally, it's the same as the net being knocked off the pegs.

  • @rpham123 exactly correct

  • You CANNOT score a goal when the net is off the frames. END OF STORY, lowell kids.

  • The net was never knocked off the moorings. The net has to be knocked off in order for it to be a no goal. The net was only jostled. Of course you're right over ESPN, Whdh Boston, The Boston Globe, Tom Caron, and Craig Janney. Yeah they all said it should of been a goal but you know what you're talking about tweedle dumb. Not all hope is lost for you thanks to stem cell research. Scientists may someday be able to grow you a brain.

  • READ THE RULEBOOK. Page HR-65. The goal has to be "dislodged" in order to stop play and force a faceoff. That's all. Congratulations on resorting to semantics to try and win the argument. But you're STILL wrong.

  • its not hte whistle that is the deciding factor in this goal it was htat hte net was lifted up off the ice before the puck crossed the goal line and that is officailly where hte play stops and htat overules the whistle...the review team made the right call.

  • NO GOAL CALL IS ABSOLUTELY CORRECT, the frame didn't lay fully on the ice, so the goal has to be disallowed. The call is correct, to 100%!!! That's the rules guys, believe it or not ...

  • I am disgusted....no question it was a goal

  • The whistle blew well after the puck went in the net and the net came off the pins after the goal was scored. Any moron could see / hear that. The refs fucked up the call plain and simple.

  • The net came OFF the pins after the puck crossed the line, but it had come up before that, and that's when the play officially stops. Well before the puck crosses the line.

  • No whistle means GOAL. UML sorry. Doesn;t matter if the net was up. if there was no whistle and the puck crossed the line, means a goal!

  • If you think that's actually true, please go read a hockey rulebook. They can review anything, regardless of whether the whistle blew or not, so it does matter if the net was up.

  • Comment removed

  • I think the main reason is that the goal frame wasnt fully on the ice when the puck went into the net, so the non goal call is correct. Nobody has been screwed ....

  • Hey "theflare387"... hello josh :oP

    This is your ex-roomie :oD

bottom line, good game all around despite all the smack talk. Look forward to reading about both teams next season.

  • Covered up or not, you play till the whistle blows. I go to UML. We clearly got screwed over. Over all though I thought it was an amazing game and we kinda got lucky being there in the first place with out win over NU. It sucks to get screwed, but we are also so very proud of how well out boys had played this season. Good luck to BU and all the other Hockey East teams playing in the NCAA turney and look forward to next season

  • im not a fan of either team...just a big college hockey fan. The hockey east is rigged. the puck was never covered...it was lose the whole time and when the whistle blew the puck was in the net, there for it was a goal. but bu always gets the calls, no matter if its goals or penaltys. that should have been a goal and would have been a totally different game. the refs blew a good game which really sucks. UML was a really good team this year and could definatly taken care of bu

  • 0:56... puck covered for at least 2-3 seconds. UML was a good team too bad the season ended for them... they really needed this win to get a bid.

Bad call, sure why not... unlucky posts... 5. 2 posts back to back by gilroy, then a rebound by.. can't remember.. that deflected up into the air... also the empty netter... hitting post. Oh yea.. BU was called for like 5 penalties in 3rd period... yea we really get the calls. Not our fault UML couldn't convert the 5-3 opportunities.

  • the puck was covered twice before it entered the net. the referees UPHELD their call of NO GOAL because they knew they should have blown play dead. end of story.

  • Doesnt matter. You cant base a call off of when they SHOULD have blown the whistle.

  • You can actually. If during the review you determine the net came up or the puck was covered, they can overturn a goal call into no goal. This wasn't even called goal on the ice, though.

  • Yes... you can, read the rule book, then come back.

  • Like i said... Better luck next year UML.

You didn't stand a chance saturday... you got lucky with the 5 posts that we hit.

  • too bad your season is over UML. Better luck next year. also check out what Millan does at 0:56... you may want to read up on why the referee blew the whistle.

Millan clearly covers it up... whistle should be blown (which it was... correct call by the referee) however dick UML players come crashing into the net after the play has been called dead, lifting Millan's hand and arm off the puck at 0:58.

  • Clearly someone doesn't even know the rules of hockey. You can dig until the whistle is blown. And the whistle was blown...but it wasn't until after the puck was in the net.

Maybe there would have been a different outcome had the guy in charge of the referees not been a BU grad.

  • The whistle should be blown when the puck has been covered by the goalie... which clearly was the case. Despite the fact that the whistle was not audibly heard until after the puck was in does not disregard that Millan had already stopped the play and the whistle "Should" have been blown then.

  • The whistle "Should have been blown then"

    BUT IT WASN'T!!!

the whistle was not "audibly heard until after the puck was in"

the whistle was not blown at all until significantly after UML scored and Holmstrom and Falite were already celebrating. It was a goal. Period.

BU fans must be superhuman, because I have heard a few of them claim to hear whistles before the puck went in, AND they can "clearly see" Millan freeze the puck TWICE when there are 10 players bouncing the puck around in the crease.

  • Why thank you I mean I guess we are superhuman. You can take it up with the referee but as all sporting events go, there are good calls and bad calls. The whistle after the puck went in was a BAD call... and the whistle that was before the puck went in is a GOOD call....

So if you want to TIE from a BAD call and then lose in overtime.. be my guest I would have loved watching BU ring a couple more posts in that game.

Bottom line, you're lucky it was 4-0 or even 4-1 to give you your petty goal

  • What are you talking about? BU rung the post maybe twice. UML had several scrums in front of Millan. You wouldn't have won if it weren't for him and the poor officiating. The goal by UML should have counted and everybody is saying it including channel seven, ESPNU, and the Globe. UML was the better team out on the ice unlike the fearsome lapdogs.

  • I agree that UML played well, and definitely outplaying us (terriers) for series of minutes throughout the game. Maybe UML did deserve that goal... but sometimes it just comes down to luck.

I would say you got the unlucky end of the call.... however we got the unlucky end of hitting the post. Watch Part 1 and Part 2 of the game and you can hear the commentators count the number of times it hit the post.

  • Thank you. I go to UML and you are right about the luck. Just like in out game vs. NU on Friday night. They just so happened to make a minor mistake and i will say it, we kinda got lucky. I just wanted to say that your team played very well and wish u guys luck.

  • BS! UML wins by default

  • yea it was ULowell gets screwed

  • BULLSHIT that was a goal
