I think that of all the people that should have respect for the N.A.s is the Spaniards, I mean they've seen the glory of two great empires,( The Incas and the Aztecs) not only that but the Pueblo Indians whooped their Spanish butt in the Pueblo Revolt, and yet in history they seem to think them as a lower people.
@SovietLenin1 hahahahahaha totally true, many european people seems the ancient american cultures like dumbs barbarians, but the true is very different
@SovietLenin1 im not saying this for all the european people, just for a little group that feels the rulers of the damn world, and im from south america
@DARVGH1 Hehe, all continents has small idiotic groups who think they are destenied to rule the world. Those people are a bunch of idiots, the world need to unite peacefully and continue world peace and distroy the threats of terrorists or small groups who think they are destenied to rule the world. Personaly i think the world is better on by having no ruler nor people to decide, but they will govern their own families after wath they think is right.
@SovietLenin1 i talk about this specifically, but you're right, around the world exist idiot people hehehe, and would be better if we can governate ourselves, but i think that is not realistic
@Teonod the people can group to work together without someone that rule them, many of the great monuments was builded for the tirany and arrogance of their rulers, not for create a real icon of their own culture
U know it really makes me sad to see all these great monuments in Rome, Greece, the Middle East like the ancient Ziggurats and the ancient cities of South America in such decay I mean I know it preserves their history but in the same way I just think its wrong to leave them old and broken like that . That they should be repaired and shown how they looked then, not to see them crumbled and destroyed .
@scottweise18 most of these buildings cannot be repaired like the Colleseums in Rome, cannot as modern scientists dont know how to make Roman concrete which was used to create the colliseum. and many governments dont want to repair these monuments as this would ruin they're historical importance, prestige and identity as adding to or repairing these monuments makes them less historical and less of a landmark.
@scottweise18 If it's any consolation, Machu Picchu is actually very well intact. I've been there, and it still looks incredible. The Inkas were masters at building. Not even centuries of earthquakes can topple their stone monuments.
@927541 Well I hope to go there one day . :) . I've seen the pictures of it . I can only imagine how stunning the view must be so high up like that . I've read about it alot . Most archaeologists think it might've been used as an estate for the Incan emperor . And also it is one of the few cities still intact and unknown to the Spanish so while other cities across the Incan Empire were being destroyed this one remained intact which Iam thankful for . :) .
@ryanscottweise It was mostly a holiday resort for the rich and of course the emperor. When they heard that the majority of Incan empire had been conquered they saw no reason to stay at Machu Picchu. So they fled and when the Spanish arrived they simply ignored it. And yes, their engineering skills were amazing and still is.
@ryanscottweise I have been there and it is quite a sight! Also, there are wild llamas that roam around randomly on the terraces; i thought that was cute. I also found a chinchilla hiding in a stone crevice. Also very cute.
The most cool thing about the Inkas was the quipu. Basically it's a cord that was used for mathematics and/or writing that was read using patterns of knots and colors among other things. Quipu writing has yet to be deciphered, but historical evidence supports its usage.
@scottweise18 Machu Picchu could be old and broken but it still "works". The irrigation channels continue to work until today. Clean water at any time of the day, ancient imperial engineers did a very good job :)
@Alexeiv03 lol darn i should try that if i return there (and if altitude sickness doesn't get revenge on me kinda got panzy to think my grandparents lived in very similar high altitudes) >.> but yeah supposedly the roads still are pretty good function and the Inca buildings can survive Earthquakes with some ease compared to Spanish buildings
@mkalover232 You're right ! I guess it does add a sense of mystery as well as the authenticity through its ruins . Much like what we see in Rome . I guess for me I only wish I could see both sides of the coin . How they looked before and how they look now . I guess finite beings like us in this day and age can only dream about it . Lol . Wondering .
@ryanscottweise It will remain a mystery forever. Imagine the people 500-1000 years ahead of us! They will wonder the same thing!! I love how time and history has a way of closing secrets and opening new ones....remember the winners write the books.
@mkalover232 I can only wish I could see how the world would be 500-1000 years from now . How things would change for us hopefully for the better and that maybe the people of that time period, with no doubt totally futuristic and more advanced architecture might look on our buildings and say how amazing they are and how THEY wish they could maybe live in our time . It's always something to think about . :) .
@scottweise18 Not to mention i wonder how the Inca/Aztecs/Maya built their stuff...and to think they had no wheels. Wonder how much harder it would have been moving 10 ton stone blocks with that XD and I wonder how much gold all these empires had>.> I mean we just know its a a number beyond imagination>.> and more importantly how did they mine all that? Altho in some sense the Natives kinda did themselves in >.< (Inca were just finishing Civil War and Aztecs still just recently expanded so) =/
This is more Peruvian than the theme song for Huayna Capac from Civ IV, which was awesome, but had more of an original style. I'm referring specifically to the Industrial/Modern Huayna Capac theme.
The Inca Empire was one of the greatest Native American Civilizations they were one Native American Civilizations able to develop bronze working of course bronze weapons were only wielded by the most high-ranking warlords
@fireball973 The Maya were awesome to. But we were more like the... insecure geeks of the Americas. We learned things about Mathematics that even the Greeks never understood, we can build a calendar only 30 seconds off from our modern calendar, and we can construct temples, as spectacular as ancient Greece or Rome. We also lived in ever fighting city-states and kingdoms, which in Guatemala, some whom speak the language of one tribe, still can't get along with the other.
