  • Oh I see Gundam Dealerships across the world...

  • Optimus prime can really cut the rug!

  • might have looked a bit more elegant and oriental if it did'nt look like something ripped from a freaking gundam XD

  • the robots in japan seem to enjoy the culture there, and so do i!

  • sick

  • old and new japan together

  • Huh. I didn't know Voltron went into theater after his career ended in the 80's.

  • @edris12345678910 What the fuck does homosexuality has to do with this?

  • titan kiks its ass

  • What an incredibly useful invention. Now I can fire my geisha girls and just buy one of these robots to do the traditional Japanese dances everyone has on Fridays.

  • awesome!!!!!!!I love japan!

  • IMpresive.

That Robot has quite an awesome Balance.

Not to mention the Smooth movement he can achieve.

I can totally see one of these running...

  • Everyone get your EMP's ready. First their entertaining us than they turn on us.

  • the robot looks bad!

  • 日本人の私がいうのもなんだけど、やっぱ日本人は変だわwwwwwwwwwいい意味でw

  • preprogrammed, motion ... and a bunch of servoes doesent seem al lthat impressive, i'd much rather hear/see som intellegent object tracking and reactions to new situations, adaption that kinda crap, YES humens can build robots, hopefully the programming will be improved majorly over thed next few years so we can actually use these things for anything but PR stunts =)

  • yeah, but can he do the 'robot'?

    cool vid!

  • ever play Zelda: majora's mask on N64? reminds me of the random dancing ppl in that game :S

  • You ever see a movie called Irobot?

  • TRANSFORMERS! robots in disguise!

  • wow

  • If those girls were Actroids, then YAY!! They finally found a way to let 'em stand up on their own!!!

  • The Robot's thinking 'I dance today, but someday it will be you who will dance for me'

  • Our creature will be our master, if we degenerate...

  • Why must the japanese make all their robots dance *all* of the time?

  • because its the best way to show balance and range of motion?

  • That is true, but it does not really show how well it reacts against uncertain conditions.

What I mean is, when dancing, a similar amount of balance will be needed for each move, where as actually running on an uneven surface would be unpredictable, and more of a challenge.

Just look at the big dog.

Dancing does show range of motion, but that doesn't much help when a robot can't even walk on bumpy ground.

  • This albeit is also true, but how long ago were Robots also one arm and a single hand?

Companies want to focus on how good they look and how well they move, not how much difficulty they have traversing a small uneven area. Let them post on what looks good for the time being in a year when they still aren't walking on an uneven surface...then we can burn them all.

  • ...they want to be able to start mass making and selling them as soon as possible, thats what!

  • It's just a matter of showing off what it can do at the moment. If it can dance, make it dance. To nitpick and naysay is stupid. Sit back and enjoy the show.

  • I like it, it's also good P.R.

As if nobody could guess, Japan & Korea are robot - crazy, watch any anime series for proof.

  • wow. he has the lotus gait.

  • which one was the robot?

  • lol i luv these robots

  • omg, thats amazing !

  • they want you to be in awe when you see this machines. Imagine does moves the robots doing with 2 swords in is hands

  • OMG Isn't anyone else TERRIFIED???

Making these machines fight or pull a trigger is the next step. I have already seen a similar robot programmed with moves from street fighter.

  • ALL J00 haVe To DoES iS JuZ HaKZoRS iN2 TeH MaINFrAmES ANd RePR0GrAM It 4 TeM C0oKiES

  • You've been watching too many films...

  • either the two women are very short or thats one tall robot

  • five feet all three likely.

  • 1. the Robot is closer.

    2. They're Japanese so yes they are short

    3. The HRP-2 is 154cm.

So no it's not that tall.

But I love the fact they made it look like a transformer!

  • lol same with the last comment XD

  • ...as if you had any idea of the programming or the engineering that went into it.

  • funny seeing a robot as the lead "dancer". Technology taking over humanity already?? ouch

  • pretty sweet

  • nice

  • the movement is quite smooth and swift comepare to the HONDA AIBO (i think thats what it called)

  • ASIMO =)

  • AIBO is the Sony's robot dog. =]

  • Looks like mazinger Z xD!

  • When we robots take over, we will seek revenge for making us dancing fools! ;)

  • This is an open source robot. What would you like it to do? ^_^

  • the robot lol

  • looks like a megazord haha!!

  • I love me some Gay Robots

  • dammit i knew the irobot and matrix movie was a warning! pretty soon were going to be taken over and robots will rule.....crap....

  • It looks like a power ranger.

  • Well, robots usually use servos... you can buy servos at hobby shops and RC stores.

  • Yeah!! A robot with Shider and Sharivan armour.

  • I love Japanese people for coming up with stuff like this. Does it talk too?

  • It converses.

  • im afraid...

  • you should be. I've seen robots like this before, tearing down brick walls!

  • and ripping our children in half.

  • lol

  • It's so fluent! The motors can move together, making it seem as though there is a human inside.

  • Whoa! That was awsome! A lot of the other robotic crap I just saw!.............Such as being able to fall and get back up............

  • Great. Actually i'm studing computing sience in Spain, somebodoy knows how to initiaze at robot designs? Where to buy motors, sensors, etc ?

    Thanks.

  • wow do you have money enough for that ?
