@cwoyce You are correct there is a Lucius the Eternal of the Emperors Children, however there was also a librarian Lucius that lead the Fated Fifth into the warp for some unknown reason. It is the rumored reason that the Blood Ravens have the only other psychic beacon in the Imperium. Thanks for the comment.

@KairosOfKhador It depends on what part of the story you are talking about. At the beginning he is just a squad leader. Then he assumes command of the battle group commander/ captain. Then he challenges the chapter master for leadership and he is Chapter Master. Thanks for the info, but I already knew that.

@Shiznaft1 ole' Sarpedon is a Librarian, they are not squad leaders per se... Librarians are usually not a squad leader (sargent) though they ussually have more authority than a sgt.

Now i like your sarpedon conversion, i am currently building my souldrinkers army, post some pics soon.

@landcruiserlarry Thanks for the comment, I didn't say he was a sergeant. He lead two squads a Tactical Squad and an Assault squad. Librarians fall outside the traditional "chain of command" however they wield great power and some chapters even have librarians as commanders or Chapter Masters. I should have been more clear. Sarpedon was in command of part of the battleforce that stormed the mutant stronghold...

ps for the soul spear i used obsidian that i flaked from a large rock into two very thin razor sharp slivers, looks bad ass, but a wicked pain for someone not knowing much about knapping

Soul Drinkers, probably the only awesome chapter to ever oppose the rest of the Astartes. Excomm or not, they're wearing purple, so they are EPIC...

Somehow I imagine him with two legs and the spider legs growing from his back...but this is great!

@xXpaintjobXx From the perspective of the inquisition they are renegade and excommunicate traitoris. However they are loyal to the Emperor but not the "corrupt" imperium. Yes the legs are a gift from the chaos god Tzeentch. They did not know that they were worshiping a chaos god. They thought it was just another facet of the Emperor. They were fooled by chaos. When they found out they killed the demon prince that was manipulating them and turned from the imperium, but not the emperor.

@xXpaintjobXx did u ever read the books? Cuz the books explain basically how the whole thing happened. Basically they are a renegade chapter, who believes that the Imperium is corrupt. However, they still fight for humanity against other zenos threat. The "legs" happen to occur when Sarpedon gets his lower half sucked into the warp and ends up with "spider-like" legs as the book says. but to answer ur question, no they are not chaos, just deal with the warp a bit hence the mutations.

Sarpedon is in regular purple armor like the other soul drinkers. Also he is the Chapter Master.

year i agree with the comments about hair and taloons yea blue armour but the souldrinkers re paited their libarians armour as they dont relly belive in the emporeor but if you use the shelob body and an deamon hunter body he looks aswome

if anyone doesnt know since ive read the books... the Soul Drinkers are not chaos. They are a chapter that became mutated and left the imperium due to them hunting them down... They fight against chaos and all other types of races also.

If you want you could play them for the chaos but they werent originally made to play for that side.

They were not just mutated, they were changed by the power of chaos... They did not embrace chaos and that is why they are renegade and not chaos, but they need to be played that way because there is little or no force org with them now and they do not even come close to following the codex.......

Your right, they do have blue armour for Librarians. REMEBER THOUGH, he is now the Chapter Master, so you can color him purple.

I just finished the Soul Drinkers Omnibus myself. Took a while as my interest in it waned a bit from time to time. The entire time I was really having difficulty visualizing Sarpedon but I think your model really helped put together (at least for me) what he might look like. I also checked out your Tellos on your other vid and I really liked your take on him. I plan on checking out Chapter War eventually but picked up Battle for the Abyss today. . .

I love the big spidery legs on the Librarian.You could almost use him as a Daemon Prince if you go the Chaos route,or a Sorcerer.Very nice on the kneeling fig as well,I'm with you on head down.

sarpedon is purple even if other chapters make the librarians blue he chose to keep his purple colored armor in order to further show his pride and respect for his chapter....and btw he has 2 bionic legs he injured it on the beach raid against a daemon prince and had to replace it with a bionic one

Hey thanks for that, I remeber him being purple but as I said I am using him as a blood ravens chaos type army. He has one bionic leg that got ripped off by an aspiring champion on the beach. the same leg was later damaged by telos and had to be repaired. I have represented that bionic leg on the model. Thanks
