Question for someone who has to live with these retractable menaces: what sort of lane must be protected from ordinary motorists at all costs? I thought it was perhaps public transport only, but I saw what appeared to be an ordinary trade van go through…seems to be more danger than it is worth (my 2 ¢), though they appear to provide endless entertainment…;-)
@crazyanglo if you refer to the red van at 0:27 by "ordinary delivery van" then you are wrong, that is a Royal Mail van. The street being protected by these bollards is a pedestrian zone which may be passed by busses and also for local deliveries (eg. post). Given the white van driver really had to deliver something in this area he only would have had to obtain a permission key for entering...
when are we gonna get more of these bollard vids? I love watching morons getting owned. it really is the funniest thing.
