  • The honeymoon song (An thymithis t'oneiro mou) Speech Paul McCartney 16-7-1963.The music was written by Mikis Theodorakis in November 1958, in Paris, France, for Michael Powells movie Honeymoon. It was made known as a song in Greece as "An thymithis toneiro mou" (If you remember my dream), with lyrics by Vassilis Kardis, pseudonym of the very great Greek poet Nikos Gatsos, and Giovanna as its first performer. It was recorded by The Beatles on 16 July 1963 for the BBCs Pop Go The Beatles series.

  • musick Mikis Theodorakis

  • I did not know that Beattles have said that song. Yes it was written by one of the greatest musicians in Greece, Mikis Theodorakis who is a myth not only for his music, but for the political bilieves too. He was voted as one of the 50 more important Greeks of all years!

  • preciosa!!

  • What a voice. Absolutely no effort at all - he could have been singing it while half asleep lying in bed strumming on his guitar - and yet 50 years later we're still listening to it over and over. Some people just have it. It's genetic. The real challenge is in writing your own great compositions. Paul was pretty good at that too...to put it ilghtly.

  • :18 and :37 made my day. Paul McCartney can't get any better :3

  • Mikis Theodorakis:D

Great song! Great Beatles - Great Mikis!

  • Paul makes my heart melt. he's so sweet. :)

  • I think this is a song from a Greek composer named Mikis Theodorakis

  • Yes! Here are the translated lyrics if you're interested. They're completely different from the lyrics Paul McCartney sings.

In my embrace once again like a star sleep tonight

no hope is left in the world no more

now that the night is embroiders your body with kisses

measure the pain and all alone leave me in wilderness

    If you remember my dream

I'm waiting for you to come

with one song of the road my dream you to come

in the summer when the star shines bright you to be covered dressed by light

  • @Ailatan444 Ksero kopelia...K go apo ellada eimai :P:PThanks pantos g tn skepsi...

  • great cover from the most important musical act of the history.

  • actually theodorakis first wrote the melody for a ballet concert, then catie clark borrowed the melody and made a song, then the beattles borrowed the melody and made another song, then the modely was taken by latin american musician and they made another song, and one day theodorakis, hantzidakis and gkatsos were together and thought: hey lets write some greek lyrics and make a greek version of the song...quite a story

  • correct me if I´m wrong, hasn´t this song a cuban origin? I´ve always heard that the first time I listened. Anyway, I knew it from Paul´s version and liked it right away

  • The melody was originally composed from theodorakis, the cuban version you've heard is an adoption of this melody into a new song. Hey do you know the tilte of the cuban song you r refering to?

  • hi, thanks for the info and let me try to get it...... I will get back to you
