At the time the Interpretation of Trivium video was uploaded, I was a huge Trivium fan (I have however since then realised the error of my ways) and managed to find the interpretation rather hilarious (and accurate) and now when I hear the song I actually sing the misheard words (mostly beacuse the real words are too hard to make out anyway). The video is funny. People should man up.

Cradle of Filth used to be quite awesome back in the day, the "Nick barker era" was fantastic. Not exactly "Black metal" But still was great music. Midian was a great album too. they suck huge balls now. Dimmu's last good album was PEM. Death Cult was terrible even with Nick barker. Soilwork is god, until they lost Peter and their last album blew. Now that they have him back hopefully they will get back on track. I'm sure "hot topic" metal is "good" in it's own way, but it's not true metal.

Its the same reason people say only the more extreme bands are truly "metal" because the sheer extremity of it comes closer to emulating the overpowering character of what metal is, whereas a band like trivium, by comparison, are kinda pop

At the time the Interpretation of Trivium video was uploaded, I was a huge Trivium fan (I have however since then realised the error of my ways) and managed to find the interpretation rather hilarious (and accurate) and now when I hear the song I actually sing the misheard words (mostly beacuse the real words are too hard to make out anyway). The video is funny. People should man up.

I'm a huge Trivium, BFMV, Machine Head and Slipknot fan. And I though that these vids were funny. Now I believe that everyone has an opinion, and different people express opinions in different ways. However, in some of these comments I've seen here, I'm getting the vibe from you that just because a metal band becomes popular and gets some time on radio, they're not true metal. I respectfully disagree. Like how often do you see BFMV or something as compared to Ke$ha?

Cradle of Filth used to be quite awesome back in the day, the "Nick barker era" was fantastic. Not exactly "Black metal" But still was great music. Midian was a great album too. they suck huge balls now. Dimmu's last good album was PEM. Death Cult was terrible even with Nick barker. Soilwork is god, until they lost Peter and their last album blew. Now that they have him back hopefully they will get back on track. I'm sure "hot topic" metal is "good" in it's own way, but it's not true metal.

When people say something is or isn't metal they can use it as an adjective, not as a more common noun or genre description.
While technically, by genre Trivium are a metal band....I just don't agree they possess that extra quality that makes a band "metal".
Its the same reason people say only the more extreme bands are truly "metal" because the sheer extremity of it comes closer to emulating the overpowering character of what metal is, whereas a band like trivium, by comparison, are kinda pop
