  • this was 2008 before nag3 ,so even if u had the 4,000,000,00$ of equ. he has it stell would not work..

  • wow! this is so complicated

  • So I guess my hairdryer and paperclips won't work.

  • is this legal? i really dont care but i wanna know

  • fake hacker , working for chip lab ,, yea right

  • @TheOlor12345 Is there a hack for that??

  • Not being a know it all but you COULD do this for sub 1 grand easy and a hefty skill in machine code. I often de-cap IC's just to see what blew up. So i take it this guy is now advising on how to prevent what he just did. Many methods look here cl.cam.ac.uk/~rja14/tamper.html UV blasing/auto fails on exposure to hf is easy .. thanks for ruining my fun for the next few years

  • Can someone help me? I have a Sharp HDTV.

It says 720p HD when I switch to my Satellite from my Xbox.

But now it doesn't say it at all and theres no picture, what can be wrong?

  • @b0wlcut it could be your connectors such as hdmi cables

  • Special hole :) hahahahahahaha

  • these guys look like they are doing other stuff with these chemicals, too

  • I think he has a little to much free time (;

  • his video is a decoy.

  • Does he really use Windows XP?

  • @odaxelagniaproject XP is a good system for software/reverse engineering.

  • Now I know how to become successful. I need to hack cards

  • i wonder what chip will be on a nagra 3 glitcher maybe the atmel90s2313 i bet someone has a flash for the hw and a 3m.

  • damn the equipment musta cost an arm & a leg....I am surprised he could get his hands on some of that equipment..u know how big corporations are control freaks and want to control access to tech

  • All i heard was noise coming out of an ugly scientist

  • cool work......

check my website: for more hack

    riteshelectronics*webstarts

  • Nagravision 3 kill it ;D

  • A&F. Cunt.

  • Gawd just pay for it FFS lol

  • naõ entendi nada mlk... cé é louco!

  • nerds stealing cable

  • what a geek

  • the world will pay millions in donations for iphone hardware unlock

  • this is really awesome i remember having a smart card back in the day for direct tv, doods really intellegent

  • omg ! that guy is sick !!!

  • keep pressing 9

  • Thats genius! How are you supposed to stop a person like this? A chip architect with all the gear and skills! WOW!

  • @TheEpiphan3

Simple: invent a satellite that allows local advertising, and then it's all FREE.

And that's JUST what I did... the video will be up soon.

  • Amazing to watch. I heard many people back in the day say this guy was all bullshit. He just smashed all those moron's. I could watch many more videos from him!!

  • @Trex1268

You can get your smartcard hacked by lots of guys in Canada for $50 a pop... just make sure they're well-referred on the web or you'll lose your card AND your money.

  • wow how does he know all this?? software engineer...more like a hardware engineer

  • You can tell he's a good hacker because he looks tired =)

  • hacking has come a long way..

  • in russia cards hack u

  • plz make a new jailbreak for the PS3

  • Study electronics & computers. What he showing is a professional lab way to get to Chip. Their is another way you can do lot more cheaper and no acids involved. Obviously if someone know they wont post it cause spreading such information cause problems

  • O_O

  • i need lig tv cryptoworks

  • Why do all this....just steal ur neibhors

  • This guy is amazing. Where did he learn all this? Equipment costs ? Sh**.

    Amazing!

  • i need to borrow around 100,000 dollars to buy al this equipment so i can erase the lock and watch free tv.

  • "all this money to watch free tv", silly people, first of all you use univercity or employers lab not buy your own, secondly, if you sucseed its not just you watching free tv but you will make 100 000 copies of cracked smartcards and sell them for 10$ a pop, worth the effort now? also this does not apply only for sat tv smartcards, you can crack lots of more interesting stuff with similar techniques

  • What about turning of the TV?

  • Hãn? wtf?!

    Good Job!

  • i thaught my mind was fuckrd................

  • sweet!! i'm going to get started on this right now..

  • What is your mail id??

  • we use xx562xx8x5x56x5 and this acid 01223569h2,he used a lot of acids :P

  • i hope u can help me n teach me how to hack also my Satellite TV Smart Card...so i can watch all tv FREE...for anyting bill mounth!!!!!hee...;-)i

  • wtf, i all i know is that i can give 20 bucks to the guy at the corner and he can get me alt least 20 of those cards.

  • guys, Chris makes his living finding the vulnerabilities in these conditional access systems. He will hack it for Nagravision, but not for a bunch of internet free-loaders. I don't blame him one bit. The big trouble happens when one provider pays him to hack their competitors sytem and then the competitor does the same thing. He is now older and more mature, like the rest of us. He has come a long way since his Biggun days!!! V

  • Nothing here is really that new what is special is that he did it himself.

They been doing this sorta cracking in Hongkong for years to reverse engineer products for cloning.

Many uCs have similar protection masks and fuses.

  • I remember those EDUCATIONAL EMU days. Lots of fun hacking signals from outer space and having hex code scrolling across the screen. It was almost sci-fi at the time.

  • hi,

i like this video very much i am very interested in hacking, this super video of you tube, please tell about yourself more....!!

  • This is not as complicated as he's making it sound, most of that equipment was just expensive and not necessary, the chemicals are not hard to find and they are not terribly expensive either, I think the company would do better if they found people to hire who use homemade equipment to do the same thing, i think they would come up with better anti-hacking strategies if they did this

  • @killerbill33 i think the new processers need a FIB!

  • what does glitching with a glitcher mean?

  • @fewoifhiu3hfklew It means sending an electrical pulse to the card to "shock" it open so that it can be read. The downside is that glitching can send the card into a Loop (lockup). Then you'd need an unlooper... same thing.. bad idea.

  • so...with $2,000,000 worth of specialist laboratory equipment, 3 degrees in science and a 3000 square foot warehouse hidden somewhere you can POSSIBLY hack a card to save $15 a month on satelite subscriptions... YEAH RIGHT!!!

  • @discocreator76

Alot of that equipment is used or refurbished. a basic decapping and silicone photoing home lab can be done for under 4000, if your willing to hunt down used or old equipment and repair it. Also that is not a "3000 square foot warehouse" That is his home basement, it does not require anywhere near that amount of space. Pretty much all the equipment you need can be crammed into less than 100 square feet.

  • @discocreator76 you can !

  • @discocreator76 just get work at a laboratory and then do that in your free time haha

  • @discocreator76 And have fun with your hobby.

  • @discocreator76 he's being contracted by the Chinese microchip industry, I am sure they pay him BIG MONEY to hack into missile chips, do you know how profitable those chips are?

  • @discocreator76 No man u are wrong. if u do it one time u dont need to do it again. So u can use it forever coz the metal area wont burn again (i think)

  • Yeah... like anyone is gonna go thru that much to get free tv :S But still cool! xD

  • RESPECT!

  • My goodness. It gave me goose bumps.

  • sorry about the double post here, if someone can remove 1 of them, thanks in advance.

  • there is NO hack for the N-3, as per say a open binfile, now what is working is a IKS & I-Hub. And as you say being scared to hack the N-3 is a joke, do you know how much the correct information would sell for to have a open hack of the N-3 encryption. The ones who do this would sell that info at the drop of a hat. I myself have been in the FTA & hacking, lets call it (Hobby) for years and it has paid off big time for me. Just to let you know money, is just waiting for a full crack of the N3

  • @asprin69 ...yes i take some of your points. the bin files are a long way off,,, but yes we have saw IKS, in the uk since N3 & running fine! ,but these are just gready traders that are ruining the hobby for the rest of us, & yes money talks now days....So why hasent someone craked & relised N3 ??? if the money is there??? + we have the added problem of having to use a FIB this time .with the dimensions droped alot, to sum up mate if someone has craked it were not seeing much of it .....

  • @geforcefx666

"So why hasent someone craked & relised N3"

I was thinking of the same thing, but when you think about it, why would any FTA receiver manufacture release a fix for N3 when there's money to be made in IKS and private servers? Just in the last year I've seen many IKS receivers come and go, this must mean big bucks for the manufactures as individuals are constantly replacing their receivers.

  • Anyone who payed attention in high school chemistry can do this fairly easily, and don't go blaming Chris that Wired cut up the video and took out all of his explanations. Usually he's very adept at giving explanations that even average tech people can understand.

Burning away epoxy isn't a really big deal though, harder part is extraction of embedded code, and then implementation of malcode and work-arounds. That gets real interesting when you start dealing with strong security like cpu keys

  • atleast i know what acetone is.

  • And still no N3 crack... Do these guys advertise themselves as a threat so the satellite companies will hire them?

  • @Actueel68, i think there scared of hacking N3 .because of the laws in the US. & all the prbs he had before, i think the elite group of hackers have N3 open

  • @geforcefx666

I agree 100% with you, I guess the $250,000 reward to hack it, is not worth getting caught and being fined millions of dollars.

  • I'm uncomfortable with the amount of organic solvents he's using..

  • Yes, you sound like a closet genius.....

  • I get everything he did, but I don't get how he can make it more hackerproof. If he is applying voltage with the top substrate protective layer exposed, maybe make it so the circuit can detect this and short itself out?

  • to have access to the equipment necessary to do this, you could buy satellite TV for the rest of your life.

  • ...and then what did you do?

  • Did anyone besides me notice that he was wearing a ghi during a portion of this video? I would suggest doing the same if you attempt replicating this process.

  • I farted on mine and it worked.. so yeah..

  • @PhantomSkinzTV lol idk why that just made me laugh

  • this is a hell of a lot of shit for a hardware hacker to go through, let alone invest in.. good luck you poor b-tards..

  • That's some specialized sort of genius.

  • besides whatever software he was using to program the chip, all the of the supplies necessary could be bought at a local Home Depot for around $20, find a mid grade microscope and you are in for a lot of trial and error... heck you could even make some acetone peroxide with the spare ingredients and get anarchical.

  • If I was captain of the nebakanezer, that guy would be my TANK

  • I have no idea what just happened, but props.

  • @Rudebizzle

I believe that was the POINT! :)

  • @Rudebizzle As a chip on any card that you poses, chip contains data and roms to connect to onwers server, What you saw is he enetered the system and has all the data....

  • meh, he's not a unix user, not my cup of hacker....

  • @chotsmagic you sir are an idiot.

  • @dhnigga meh I doubt you even know what Linux is. Real hackers don't use windows.

  • @chotsmagic whats a loonix????? oh i dont know, lets see, hmm, kernel 2.6 is the latest. hmm, what is sbin?? what is initd?? rc.local??? /etc/passwd??? oh my god what are all these terms, im SCARED.

  • @dhnigga then you of all people should understand my view point. Microsoft has done nothing innovative towards the world of computing, Windows had promises of stability and performance but failed (eg Win2000, Me?), granted Windows 7 is pretty good but it took them 30 years to achieve a certain quality that is desirable. Admittedly my original comment was childish, but I did not disrespect the hacker, merely the tools he chose to use, hence "not my cup of hacker".

  • @chotsmagic a real hacker would use any machine he can to manipulate the target to achieve the goal. Limiting yourself to an operating system due to personal gripes would limit your ability to attack real world people. Most dumb fucks who you'd take advantage of with social engineering or something similar would be using windows. Not Gentoo, not ubuntu. Maybe a MAC but they are expensive and rarely deployed across the board in large corporations.

    Windows Knowledge is essential.

  • @dhnigga I stand corrected. Touché

  • all that to watch 1000s of hours of adverts. And this is why i DONT watch TV

  • all that effort just to do that -_-

  • this video is amazing. on linux would be awesome!

  • thats great video

i guess sat tv card is only for fun

im sure he tried wiz a credit card

  • Wow. I work with computer repair every day, and even I got lost. This guy must be fucking nuts.

  • @jonvincent12 Nah, the process itself isn't as complicated as it looks like. It's only that he has the right gadgets for the task :)

  • Surprising what people go through to bypass a few hundred dollars and get free satellite TV. And to sidowse, Of course every house in the USA has that stuff. Mine did.

  • @jonvincent12 What if you're essentially banned by badass Yankee corporations from subscribing to such programming, even if you want to?

  • 877-554-3033 Order dish network now!

  • He's like 50 wearing an Abercrombie and Fitch shirt. I don't approve of anyone wearing that, but especially not him.

Also this is really awesome. I wish I could do this sort of thing.

  • How did I get here from Raywilliamjohnson!?

  • dont you all get it?? he wants to make it seem imposible for YOU to do this, so YOU will HIRE HIM!! this is HIS bussiness. why would he make it look easy? I do this and its not easy but not as high tech as he makes it out to be. looks like he is cloning a human! LOL!

  • @vanda219 Honestly, I thought he made it look very easy. Etch through a circuit board, and then attach a probe. Anyone with basic comp-sci knowledge should be able to do this after watching his instruction.

  • @ebonyrun 50 failed attempts later you might get a result that only experience can bring.

  • @ebonyrun

Computer science is about math and logic, not hardware.

"Computer science is no more about computers than astronomy is about telescopes." - Edsger Dijkstra

  • @ephekt420 Agreed, but any reasonably intelligent person with basic astronomy knowledge can figure out how to look at the moon.

  • @ebonyrun

I don't think we actually agree. While what you said is true, it's out of context; use does not equate ability to reverse engineer. That's not something that exists within the domain of "basic knowledge." nor is it something studied in astronomy.

Anyway, yeah, tech savvy people could probably do this. But it has zero to do with CS theory or knowledge.

  • @ebonyrun Anyone with some digital circuit knowledge, basic chemistry knowledge, a digital oscilloscope, an electronic microscope and some high-precision um-scale (micrometer-scale) probing needles. You're right, even my technophobic grandma could do this with the help of this video......

  • @CoolKoon I didn't even come close to suggesting that a technophobe could do this.

Requiring expensive machinery != difficult. Obtaining the machinery, well, that might be difficult, but that's not what I'm talking about.

  • @ebonyrun Well, you need the knowledge to use the machinery too. But ok, let's say that you get the machinery and know how to use it. Then what? What do you do with the data you collect via the digital scope then? How do you proceed in actually breaking the encryption itself? You think that disassembling an encryption scheme and a SoC isn't difficult at all?

  • @vanda219 Actually it IS difficult and costly to do such thing. Not because of the process, but due to the machinery and devices involved. Even the digital oscilloscope shown in the video costs AT LEAST $500-1000. Also, even if you succeed in getting the crucial parts of the chip exposed, you have to know EVERYTHING (literally) about digital electronics, smart cards and encryption systems in order to extract anything meaningful from the card. But I'm sure you can do this from off-the-shelf parts...

  • @vanda219 Looks so fucking easy, and I am still in high school.

  • @vanda219 dude help me i need cable tv what do i need to do or buy?? please be my savior!!

  • Comment removed

  • @vanda219

FOR REAL! :) I mean this guy is using $100,000.00 microscopes! :)

  • @vanda219 FTA/USB :)

  • If only Wii Hackers had to go thru this much crap ? then there wouldn't be any Piraters.......!

  • where is one supposed to gain access to an SEM? Unless at a University or steal one.

  • I bet he was making some serious money before he was forced into retirement.

  • Ya that is GREAT !... I too LOVE that stuff.... Kinda funny being reminded of how we use to just glitch !!... LOL good stuff my friend !

  • useless technique very expensive there are some other new methods by using master chip and mauplate the orignal one .

  • I learned something it very expensive jjaa thanks genius

  • See what happens when WoW servers are down. Besides all the time, money and painstaking moments just to try to hack a chip for TV we forget that there is still nothing on that's really worth all that LOL :)

  • i did this and it works

  • gay

  • he looks like gene wilder.

  • THIS IS WHAT I AM TAKLING ABOUT. PEOPLE THINK AMERICANS ARE LAZY AND MORONIC BECAUSE OF VIDEO GAMES AND TELEVISON. WE HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO DO GREAT AND COOL THINGS IN TECHNOLOGY. LETS GO OUT THERE AND MAKE SOMETHING HAPPEN.

  • @MADDKNOCKER Theres an exception to every rule...

  • Keep cleverness alive dude!

  • chemistry and technology? genius

  • People don't do this to save on their personal satellite TV bills, you morons. This is for manufacturing hacked smart cards and reselling them for big bucks, the equipment pays for itself in a week.

  • @JAbrahamCollins Well, that isn't what the header said, now is it?

  • Even if I had this equipment, I still don't know wtf this guy is talking about. And I haven't played with acid since my teens.

  • @Lunarmoonbase2 I'm an adult and I play with acid every weekend in the clubs...
