I was listening to the whole talk before the song on the CD.
Lindsey says(paraphrasing here), "All of us have some inner demons that we struggle with. (Micks plays a little drum solo in the middle). He continues on by saying we all have them and let them get the best of us. And then he goes into what is said in this video.
I agree. Lindsey wasn't really pointing at anybody because you can see he's pointing down when he says, "that's what this song is about."
I love this "new" Fleetwood Mac song and I don't like anything - I think it was not nice of Lindsey to sing the lyrics "Hard As A Rock, Dry As A bone" which I think refers to Stevie on cocaine - other than those issues - I love this song!!!
Saw this concert in '98, my daughter won tickets from her job (even better) ice cold beer, seats on the grass where you can still smoke, and fleetwood mac, so close you could almost smell Stevies perfume! does not get any better! Still madly in love with her, and she's a valley girl (valley of the sun). One of the few bands that are awesome live!!!
Oh the reason Lindsay points is because he and Stevie we're an item and they kinda messed it up. Which is kinda what he's talking about when he says we've all made mistakes. And not a cle why Christine nods about it, maybe for support? and Stevie walks up 'cause she's all for the dramtics :)
@WatchYourAttitude im not sure why Stevie walks up, but when Lindsey points he's pointing to represent when he says "this song" and Christine nods like shes agreeing with him. But that's just my point of view.
@MidnightKitsune777 ok thnx. I thought he was perhaps pointing that stevie had to come over to sing and play the tambourine. and that christine was nodding that she was coming. but at that point stevie was next to christine so he could have seen stvie. so that makes it extra odd. oh how I would die to have the gift to read minds and read lips. that would solve a whole lot of mistery's for me.
@TheDuckheadful maybe not. but it fascinates me ver since I saw it. if I could choose 2 sort of "super powers" I'd choose to read peoples thoughts (also through a computer scrren :P) and to read lips. well lip reading might not be a super power, but I can't do it :P
@sara31tx no I didn't really assume he was pointing at someone, but he was sorft of pointing next to him. as if he meant something about stevie. and christine confirmed it. I just get facinated b those sort of things :P
every time we herd this song he would sing "My little deedems comin on down"
till a cople months later my bro herd it and said "he is actualy saying: my little demon" then i got mad at him and didnt care so the other day i was listening to it and he sang the same thing then it was little girl all over again! ;)
Can someone please put up a really simple beginners guitar lesson on how to do this song? Lindsey not John's part. But for the Bass if there is a really basic lesson of the solo from "The Chain" if someone can let me know how please? Thanks!
@Lpeters199 Maybe...but she's always been the really laid back one, and now she's older and even more mellow. I sure wish she would agree to tour again :(
It's a pity the one who posted this video removed the full Lindsey's speech at the beginning. He was talking about his demons when Mick Fleetwood made noises accidentally in the back so Lindsey went like "it seems there are demons behind the drums". You can see that in the DVD, it's a very funny moment.
Has this song ever been released as a studio track? I love this song & this performance & this whole concert, but I find it odd that they never recorded it in a studio. At least not to my knowledge.
how can anyone not like anything by fleetwood mac?! they are awesome.

@ 2:25-2:28 John's really getting into it. something you dont see alot of, seeing as how he hangs back in the shadows.

@lcoates90 I think they were actually more referring to the whole thing with the drugs. Listen to the lyrics.

All through The Dance, poor Christine looks unhappy and bored, simply going through the motions--even though she sounds better than ever.
