Dalton is an underrated Bond to be sure. I actually enjoy all of the actors to be honest. I think the shift between actors keeps the series fresh. I wish something similar would've happened with Indiana Jones.

Die Another Day just contains excessive amounts of CGI, throughout. That's what makes it so ridiculous and over the top. Whilst Bond is an action movie, it has to still retain some elements of realism, which Die Another Day doesn't, at all.
However, saying that, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace both sucked and they were realistic films. In the next one, they should bring back Q and Moneypenny, and actually let Craig laugh in the film :|

The new Bond films are more gritty (better). The "Bondhumor" and gadgets galore recipes in the Brosnan ones always seemed too comical and fake. Not too mention they always had god-awful supporting actresses in Madonna and Denise Richards among others.

I know, Die Another Day has many haters but I found it really not bad. Yes, the storyline and visual effects looked too unrealistic but this is "New Era" Bond movie which shows new technological progress. Pierce Brosnan was great though. Toby Stephens was great villain too. I love Halle Berry but she wasn't that good. Rosamund Pike was OK.
I adore Madonna's theme song - really unique and memorable!!! She should have had more screen time in this movie.

Pierce Brosnan has completely destroyed Daniel Craig in almost every way as Bond so far. Pierce is stylish, suave, and actually gives a sense of pan-ash and color to Bond films while Daniel Craig gives no character definition except the fact he wants revenge. Marc Forester the director of Quantum Of Solace sucked and should never again direct a Bond film. Bond Films should be fun and entertaining not Dark and Depressing.

But in my classification Dalton is the best ever becouse of what You said - closesd to the oryginal :) I also find Craig second best for his bechawior. He knows no compromise and I like that :) Dynamic but with much less special effects than the Brosnan ones.

wow can't believe 6 other people think this movie is opposite than what i put on here a month ago. i liked brosnan alot, dalton and connery were great. but this movie was just the beginning of a disaster. and that new qos one was awful.

I know, Die Another Day has many haters but I found it really not bad. Yes, the storyline and visual effects looked too unrealistic but this is "New Era" Bond movie which shows new technological progress. Pierce Brosnan was great though. Toby Stephens was great villain too. I love Halle Berry but she wasn't that good. Rosamund Pike was OK.
I adore Madonna's theme song - really unique and memorable!!! She should have had more screen time in this movie.

I don't know really about my favourite Bond actors.. I mean, George Lazenby only did one Bond but I do like his fighting moves and that the movie had a such great story. I don't wanna put him last on the list. The worst Bond was Roger Moore, everything ended up with nothing but humour and it wasn't really that "Bond feeling". Timothy Dalton was dark and cruel, like Ian Fleming wanted. He is really good! Pierce is to fancy but great to. I think the coolest Bond is Sean Connery. Daniel Craig, hm..

Pierce Brosnan has completely destroyed Daniel Craig in almost every way as Bond so far. Pierce is stylish, suave, and actually gives a sense of pan-ash and color to Bond films while Daniel Craig gives no character definition except the fact he wants revenge. Marc Forester the director of Quantum Of Solace sucked and should never again direct a Bond film. Bond Films should be fun and entertaining not Dark and Depressing.

But in my classification Dalton is the best ever becouse of what You said - closesd to the oryginal :) I also find Craig second best for his bechawior. He knows no compromise and I like that :) Dynamic but with much less special effects than the Brosnan ones.

1) Sean Connery (The Best Bond - PURE AWESOMENESS)
2) Daniel Craig (he's actually very much like Fleming's Bond, but with his own personal twist)
3) Roger Moore (as you said, the funny one)
4) Pierce Brosnan (he did a good job acting as Bond, but the only genuinely good Bond film of his was GoldenEye. The rest were either meh, or terrible)
5) George Lazenby (never saw his one)
6) Timothy Dalton (He ruined the Bond character in general).

@Skeletonpack common mistake, but The Bond everyone forgets is David Niven, the first and most suave. Ursula Andress as Vesper and Orson Welles as Le Chiffre.... Peter Sellers. It was a straight up comedy and not too bad by '66 standards.

The never let anyone see you bleed thing was a really dumb line, if you base your standards on the Brosnan era of bond films then all of the others will seem to break the rules,l when in fact most of the brosnan era films broke the rules non stop.
I personally doubt that fleming would have liked brosnan, sure, he is closer to the fleming bond than craig, but he is just too much of a wimp. I was just witing for him to yell "UGH! I broke a nail!"

This is actually one of the worse bond movies. There is no denying that Pierce Brosnan is an amazing actor but this movie is just not up to normal bond standards. The plot is ill concieved and the script is badly written. I am not saying you can't enjoy the movie, just that if you break it down it's not a 'good' movie. FYI: I love the Craig bond movies, they are really well written

I agree with your comments on Brosnan. If only he had been signed to Remmington Steele for 30 years we wouldn't have needed to suffer him. Dalton nailed it as Bond. A number of factors worked against him.
The dispute between MGM and EON resulting in a six gap in films.
Daltons Bond movies being released in the summer against 1987 - Predator, Robocop, Lethal Weapon, 1989 - Batman, Indy 3, Lethal Weapon 2, Back to the Future 3.
