Just because a commercial aired once doesn't mean it was banned. A lot of Super Bowl ads air only one time, like the 1984 MacIntosh ad. Banning indicates the advertisers pulled it because of complaints. They probably only intended for a lot of so-called "banned" ads to air once, particularly during the Super Bowl, because the viewing audience is so big they only need one airing.
